I went here for the first time this past Sunday. The young lady in the store was very nice and helpful. They had some screaming deals on their clearance rack. Other than that, some of the stuff is expensive. But not too bad, depending what your looking for.

How in the world can you find the great help they have at this store!!! The customer service is amazing. The products are great but I go for the customer service. I’m generally a vanilla cheapskate and I find that the money you spend here is a good investment in cyclinging products. I can’t wait till 2017 when they come out with Ginger comfort shorts.

Bad business, I was trying on some shoes that were on sale for $ 39.99. after trying them on i saw another pair on the bottom of the stack in my size. I wear anything I can find in my size for casual wear at this price. The salesperson noticed me reaching for the other pair then proceeded to tell me that those shoes were not on sale? He told me that it must be a mistake then told me to give them to him before I even had a chance to open the box. then the salesperson walked the shoes into the back of the store. I was extremely offended since I believe California law may be in my favor if the shoes were accidentally placed on sale. Also what if I actually liked the shoes enoughf to pay full price? I was not even allowed to open the box! I left the shoes that I originally tried on and left the store in disbelief. The salesman was defiently a «Company Man» I hope he earns employee of the month after reading this review. I will never purchase another Pearl Izumi product again.

For bike clothing this store is spot on. The sale rack always has gear for pros to a bike newbie. They are truly a «factory» store so get test products and close outs not available elsewhere. And if you watch for their big sales just about everything in the store is significantly discounted. Considering how good their quality is and how much this type of clothing regularly costs then the discounts can pay for your next race or century ride. Chris the store manager practically lives there and is awesome. She knows her products inside and out and can make recommendations for anyone. If you give her your number she will even let you know when something goes on sale or hold for you if its something that’s not in the store. Shortly the store is moving to a new location in the same mall so expect a new layout but the same high quality, customer service and prices.

I came in knowing absolutely nothing about the type of shoe I wanted/needed for indoor cycling classes. The man working was not only incredibly helpful by answering all of my questions, but was also very patient. I tend to be pretty indecisive when making purchases and something as simple as buying a pair of shoes can take me over an hour(even when narrowed down to two pairs, like in this instance). I almost walked out empty handed since I couldn’t decide and on the way out spotted a perfect pair on display. I ended up getting a $ 140 pair of shoes for $ 35 plus tax:) They’re super comfortable and I get a way better workout now that I have the right shoes!

Great selection and helpful staff. I like shopping here better than the bike shops for clothes because they have every size in what your looking for unlike all the bike shops hat seem to only have 2 sizes of each style. Not sure why I didn’t come here first, I guess I usually don’t go to places with low reviews but you should definitely check this place out for bike clothes you will be happy. Also they have a great clearance rack.

This review is solely for their black friday sale, which I think is one of the best deals ever. Although it starts at like 5 am, it’s 40% off on already marked down merchandise. And unlike other stores, they actually have a lot of stuff marked down during this time. My friend and I drove down on black friday from Irvine and got there by 5:30. The store was full of people, maybe 15? But we still found good stuff. Got myself a biking glove, leg warmers, pro line jacket, tri shorts and socks. Basically, this sale makes the top of the line products very affordable. I think I got all those items listed for around $ 160. Another thing to add is that pearl izumi has lifetime guarantee; my friend brought along one of his triathlon shorts that was sort of falling apart, and after discussing with the store manager, she took the responsibility of having it patched up, and she’d pick up the bill. Pearl izumi, really great stuff backed by a great company. It’s not cheap, but if you can score a great deal, like on black friday, definitely a great investment.

Ryan was amazing. I have never had anyone work so hard to find me my size and get me a great deal. The store didn’t have what I was looking for but Ryan took the time to call up other locations and check inventory. He gave me a call the next day with suggestions and great deals he found for me. The level of customer service here is incredible.

I’m not a hardcore biker or runner so I felt a little alienated when I stopped into this place. The equipment here seems to be generally good but priced more in line for the enthusiast and avid runner or cyclist rather than the casual«I just try to not be fat» person like myself. The equipment seems to be good quality but I did wish that they had a broader price selection to have something to offer the novices among us. We went in shortly before close so the staff was focused on closing up and we were browsing so we didn’t really bother them.

Love this store, YAY!!! The quality and design is top notch, and I’ve been a fan of PZ since the 90’s I think I even remember wearing a PZ cycling jersey when they used to sponsored Coors Light cycling team. So to my surprised, they have a store in Delmar… yay! :D

Not worth the trip down… prices were not what I expected of an outlet store

I had ripped a PRO jersey in a scrape with a tree… called the store and Christine(sales rep) invited me to come in. She took one look at it and said«we can fix this» and sure enough, the jersey came back to me in a few days, repaired, shipped to san francisco, free of charge and good as new. I haven’t experienced customer service like this in quite some time. A ton of selection: some bargains and most if not all of their current offerings.

WE got a great price on some cycling shoes(½ price) — — staff was very helpful and friendly. Good selection of running/cycling clothing that looks very high end. We’ll be back!

This is a great store. Yes, it is expensive. Pearl Izumi clothes are pricey, however, you get what you pay for. I had a Pearl Izumi jacket that I bought about 3 years ago and the zipper on the removable sleeves broke. So, I took it in to the store to see if they could repair it. They told me they don’t do repairs, but would be happy to give me a new one. No questions asked I walked out with the new version of my 3 year old jacket… $ 110 value. They also offered to order me a different color, since they didn’t have that style jacket in my original color. I don’t mind paying more for quality products and for a brand that will stand by its name. Pearl Izumi is one of those brands. While I was in the store I also saw tons of new products I wanted to try on. It looks like they are finally figuring out that woman’s tops need to be longer, etc. I would have kept shopping, but I rode there on my bike and didn’t have a place to put my purchases. I will definitely be back to this location. The sales people were extremely nice and helpful.

I went into the store looking for cycling vests for the San Diego«winter» mornings for my wife and I. The salesperson was very helpful and showed us her selection and answered a lot of questions. It was a pleasant experience overall. I agree that their selection is pricey, hence the 4 stars, although it does feel high quality.

Outlet store(n) — A branch of a wide-spread north american retail establishment selling previous season, irregular, or otherwise discounted merchandise. Pearl Izumi Factory Store(n) — Load of overpriced crap you shouldn’t waste your money on and(at least when I went in) and very unfriendly employee who was loathe to help someone other than the cute guy, even though I was wearing my Triathlon jacket. Okay. So maybe I was having a bad day anyway, but this place made it worse. There are 2 measly clearance racks in the rear of the store, placed for maximal ignorance by the general public. In front of those racks are about 50 racks of clothing selling for PI’s ludicrious MSRPs. As a student and a triathlete and a human fu**ing being(sorry), I realize that my money is hard earned, and I will not readily waste it on a product that literally has a markup from the 2 – 5 dollars it costs to make, to the 100 dollar product. I’m no mathematician, but that’s something like a 10,000% markup. Anyway, why would you shop somewhere that lies to you before you even step in the door? Naah. I’d rather go to Nytro(see my review for full impact).

They make real nice stuff and all, but a store like this in a place like this? The staff for the most part were not people I would trust with decisions about gear for cycling as they did not appear to be athletic in any way. The staff pretty much ignored me, in favor of chatting up the rich folks who will likely never really use the products they are buying. The selection was OK, but not great, and I had hoped for more of the FUN stuff they make and less of the plain old mundane stuff you can get at any cycling store. SO … not a bad stop if they are having a sale, I suppose, but overall you are better off going to a store that has a wider selection and more knowledgable staff.
