Protec is great to work with and have done a fantastic job at my community. We are truly impressed by the work done!

And what a great first review it will be! These people were hired by my HOA several years ago and unfortunately they have been here ever since. We pay them $ 40 or more per hour twice weekly while their workers make under half of that. The middleman situation is fully unnecessary as we could easily find skilled workers on our own for considerably less money. Speaking of skilled… Pro-tec’s workers range from semi-skilled all the way down to unskilled/incompetent. Presently our lazy management and completely ignorant and corrupt Board of Directors throws work their way only because it’s convenient for them(and they don’t know any better). They have no idea what constitutes satisfactory work, nor do they care. Right now I’m learning how to upload some sample pictures of Pro-tec’s work to show them and our HOA, because clearly no one between the two entities supervises the work nor will they ever deem it UN-satisfactory. If you really want to know how NOT to run an HOA, come check out our 112 unit complex in San Carlos. Incidentally, our Board of Directors will soon be recipients of a Superior Court action involving injunctive and equitable relief in regards to their continuing self-serving behavior, contempt toward owners and non-enforcement of governing documents. We’re hoping a judge will also permanently remove the existing members from ever serving on a Board or a committee at our complex If I can upload the pictures, you would see this: 1) Many cracks in the sidewalks were filled using the wrong compound(cracking after one week) and then not even bothering to sponge off all of the excess gray crud. 2) Painting a landing with two different shades of paint; house paint no less, not decking coat. After complaining(they didn’t notice) they returned to paint it a uniform color, but still with house paint. 3) A fire extinguisher cabinet replacement mounted crooked. When in doubt, use a level… but not Pro-tec Presently they are painting a rebar-type fence around the pool at the usual ripoff prices(actual painting contractors will do a better job at less than half the cost). It is not a big project by any means and a very low priority for our complex, yet this will cost our homeowners well over $ 1,000. The very least Pro-tec management should do is to redo the hideous work they’ve done, hire competent workers and negotiate a fair deal. Not likely though. When we get a sane Board of Directors here, Pro-tec will be history.
