The best shellac polish manicure I’ve ever had! Yvette was so friendly and sweet, she made the experience fun and quick. Andrea the massage therapist came over and did some work on my neck while I was having my manicure and it was AMAZING! very clean, relaxing environment with friendly staff. Would HIGHLY recommend this salon.

I have seen Heather Savant for the past 5 years or so and have never been disappointed! She is very skilled at color and cuts! I seriously can’t say enough positive about her! She is very friendly and kind! Never an awkward silence when she is working her magic! Pure Salon has a keeper with Heather! She is truly amazing and I feel so beautiful every time I leave! Finally found some time to write this superb review for Noelia Navarro! She is super awesome; friendly, sweet, and the best at what she does. It’s hard to find a good hair stylist and be totally comfortable with because there are so many in business. I moved from the Bay Area last year and was concerned about finding someone good here in SD but I had to keep up with my color, therefore I stumbled across Pure Salon and made an appt with Noelia. I like to keep the same hair stylist for as long as im living in the area, I hate to hop around! I visit her every month for a color/​cut and never a disappointment! I always leave satisfied and feeling beautiful ;) I swear I don’t wash my hair for a few days just so I could keep the way she styles my hair! Haha. Btw, she’s also very flexible which I’m very grateful of, being that I always have to work late and now a newborn. She squeezes me into her very busy schedule someway somehow :) Anyway, I would highly recommend her. If you’re looking for a new hair stylist, look no further, Noelia is your girl!

(This review is SHAMEFULLY long overdue.) Since first visiting Pure Salon over two months ago, and experiencing Aura’s wonderful talents, there aren’t enough great things for me to say about this place! I feel infinite joy a having discovered this place. From the moment I called for my appointment, speaking with the front desk, and walked in, I felt welcome, comfortable, and confident that I was going to be satisfied with the stylists and talent at this salon. Aura was/​is OUTSTANDING! It was late at night on a weekend, yet she patiently listened to my concerns and confessions about my hair. Excellent communication, great customer service, and genuine concern for your needs. She is an expert and it was obvious that she loves what she does! She styled and colored my hair better than anyone who has ever touched my hair. I have received so many compliments, and I wish I knew about this place sooner! I will most definitely be back and will be sending everyone who needs a hair salon there!

I was completely butchered at Pure Salon. I came in with long hair, down past the middle of my chest and asked for a progressive long bob. I showed the stylist a photo of the length and angle I wanted — long in the front and shorter in the back. Somehow, I left with hair around 4 inches shorter than asked, SHORTER in the front than in the back, lopsided, and curved not only at the sides of my face but curved in the back. Not at all the Angled Progressive Bob I had asked for. I not only gave the stylist a photo, but my hair is thin, (not thick and difficult to work or style) but also very long — more than enough for her to work with. I left with a completely bizarre hair cut — I’m a 30 year old, young Millennial, but now I look like someone’s tasteless granny.
There’s absolutely NO salvaging of this hair cut, since she cut it SHORTER than my shoulders with the very tips at the front being the shortest part of the cut. The stylist’s name was AURA. She didn’t do what I asked, she did what SHE wanted to do to my hair. And she wouldn’t stop. The more I told her that didn’t look like what I had asked, the more she tried to cut it making it shorter and shorter. I finally had to tell her «You’re done. Stop.» And I had to tell her multiple times till she let me up.
It will take at least 8 months to get it to the length I had asked for and over a year to get it to what it was before I walked in. At least the stylist had the good sense not to make me pay once she saw how atrocious the cut really was.
I came back to complain with management and spoke to two managers, while they were polite, understood how distraught I was and completely acknowledged I was butchered, they admitted the only way to fix the lopsidedness and try to make sense of the haircut was to make it even shorter. I completely declined as the cut was already four inches shorter than I had asked for to start. Other than that — the management did nothing. They could have offered a free cut once the hair grew back in 8 months or offered a gift card for a different service but they did nothing. I just can’t understand how a progressive angled Bob turned into the haircut she gave me — neither could her managers. I can’t tell you how regretful I am that I came into this salon and let AURA cut my hair.

I’m finally writing a long-​overdue review for Guy. I started going to him a few years ago when I moved back to San Diego, mostly for haircuts. I’ve strayed a few times to experiment with other salons (mostly through groupon), but I always find my way back to Guy. He really listens to what I am trying to accomplish and delivers. Today I made a last minute appointment to fix a butchered haircut I received elsewhere. I also decided to go back to a natural dark brown color after a year or so of ombré/​balayage. I was starting to look like a frazzled broom. Guy worked his magic today and I left with a beautiful shiny color and nice, blended layers. I feel like myself again and am so over trying any other stylist or salon. I highly recommend Guy! He’s very talented and has a cool, calming demeanor. Pure Salon also feels very luxe, like you’re treating yourself to something nice.

Love love love my new hair. Thanks you Lejen-​Mae she did such an amazing job and I already love her after coming in for the first time. And I am thinking of choosing her as my permanent hair stylist!

I was recently in Asia and got in a car accident. Needless to say, my muscles were super tight upon my return. I decided to come to Pure Salon & Spa and I am SO glad that I did! Jeanette really knows how to work out your muscles and her space is very relaxing and peaceful. She truly has a gift! If you have any tension at all, she is definitely the right person to go to! The pressure was perfect and my back is feeling so much better after only one massage! I am impressed.

I went to Pure Salon to see Cindy at her new location at Pure Salon. Cindy is fabulous as always — I’ve been going to her for 5 years now. The one thing I’m high maintenance about is my hair color and Cindy does such a great job of giving me blonde highlights that are super natural looking and takes the time to make sure they aren’t chucky and that they are evenly spread throughout. Cindy has many clients with many different styles — she’s great, go visit her! Pure Salon also has several other services like massages.

Highly recommend Noelia Navarro! I won’t ever go to another stylist so long as she is around. She knows exactly what I want and listens to my concerns. She fixed my hair color, which was completely botched by someone else…
She just recently did my hair color again for my engagement photos, (went above and beyond, by the way without my asking) and when I got my make-​up done the next day, my stylists all could not stop talking about my hair color without my mentioning it! Even my classmates noticed how well it was done. Thank you, Noelia! You are such a gem.

Thanks to my friends for giving this great gift card that I got to meet a great stylist named Aura! She styled my hair to perfection that I cannot believe how great it feels and looks. Definitely, I will be back to see Aura again.

Went to an event tonight and all the proceeds went to a cancer charity! Any business that has a team that is that nice, welcoming and down right awesome at en event like this is ok with me! ALL of the employees are super friendly, the salon is adorable and very clean. The room where the pedi’s are is very relaxing! I would recommend this salon to all.

8 years later I’m still the same stylist Dalon! – That says a lot about her great work! The pictures I’ve posted does no justice! Everyone needs to see Dalon for their hair services if you want your hair looking healthy and on point!

Kathy — massage good! Ambiance not great I wouldn’t call it a spa by any means the room was too cool, the sheet on the bed had what looked like a blood or brown stain. To me a spa you have a nice relaxation room, a bathrobe, maybe tea, flip flops
With all the $ they make, they charged 1.00 fee to use a credit card, I don’t care about 1. oo I feel that’s petty and not customer service friendly on their part.
Torn about going back, on one hand liked Kathys work but on the other hand due to tempature being uncomfortable and the owners charging a. Fee for cc is a principal thing with me.

Ok so you have to go to Toni. She’s accurate and very professional! She is Edward scissor hands! She can do any thing from plain and simple to super edgy!
As for the salon it’s a great environment. Everyone looks professional and friendly. Also she’s a pro at mens haircuts.

So after looking all over San Diego (literally driving around) i ended up here… All i needed was my hair straightened and just to look nice for my night out tonight and LEJEN MAE definitely did just that.
She took answered all my beauty questions, my hair is beautiful just like i asked and she is so friendly! I am definitely coming back just to see her! I really do recommend her services to all.
She also did my eyebrows, she can do it all!

I came here to get an ombré done to my hair and I let the hair dresser know that I wanted to be able to wear it straight and that I wanted it pretty high up and I showed her a picture of it as well. I left right after they closed and it looked nice in the dark setting. But I noticed the next day the blend on it is horrible and can’t be worn straight it looks so bad and uneven. I paid 150 $ for something that looks like it came out of a home dye job. I’m not one to go complain to a persons face … My loss now and now I have to pay to get it fixed :(
