Ordered takeout. The staff was quick, efficient, and friendly. Any of you East Coast transplants craving some NY style Chinese — this place comes pretty close. House Fried Rice — A+ Loaded with protein and it had that tad bit of smokey flavor from the wok, which for some reason is hard to find — excellent. Shrimp in Lobster Sauce — A+ Loaded with fresh veggies and shrimp. The sauce is the kicker though — it tastes like a lobster bisque. BBQ Pork App. — A+ It wasn’t overloaded with a sugary sauce and the meat was freshly cooked — none of that gummy old pork taste. Egg Rolls — B Good. Obviously house made. I would definitely recommend it. PS — the prices are unbeatable for this area.

Skimpy size for a pork friend rice meal, bad service, and tasted suprisingly badly. Ingredients such as carrots are obviously not fresh. Over-priced, bad décor. It’s better than nothing if you’re desperate. Looks like the only game in town for miles.

We have had such a hard time finding good Chinese in this area. For me, this came the closest! However, my teenager did not care for it… I mean he did like it, but was upset that there was no General Tso! Anyway, I’ve included some pictures of the items that we ordered. Which were sweet and sour shrimp, Kung Pao chicken, among other things. Their potstickers are amazing!

Despite ordering for a large party of 8, the food started coming out very quickly! The orange chicken and the honey walnut shrimp was delicious! The chow mein was different than I expected and it was great! I’m definitely going back with the family!

Man!!! I had the house chicken and I have to say it was surprisingly fantastic. The hot and sour soup on wasn’t watered down. The facility was very clean. I wasn’t expensive but it was a little more than a typical restaurant and that is okay. Service was good. I will look for this place again when I’m work in the neighborhood. 5 stars

My family and I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed! We always order the usual: House Special Chicken(deliciously sweet yet salty soy sauced chicken with a touch of crispyness), Orange Chicken(I can honestly say this is the best orange chicken I have had in SD– it’s perfectly crunchy and sweet), Hot & Sour Soup, and sometimes we get the shrimp crispy noodles if we are feeling extra hungry! Other notable dishes are the chow mein(super fresh off the wok!) and honey walnut shrimp(although portioning for this is pretty small relative to the other dishes). The restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza and has very limited seating. This place is HOPPIN for lunch as they have amazing lunch specials(cheap and tasty!) and quieter at night with mostly to-go orders. Overall: the go-to place for high quality, decently priced and authentic Chinese food!

Super friendly, fast, and tasty. The beef&broccoli was delicious. The cream cheese wontons have quite a few onions in them, but otherwise yummy. And the hot&sour soup hit the spot. I’ll defiantly be coming back for more.

Super nice family-run Chinese food restaurant. For pick up I’ve never had to wait more than 10 mins for the food to be ready. Great service!

Simple is always better for me here. I love the Broccoli Shrimp or Chicken. It not all covered in sauce, it’s clean fresh and delicious. Lunch is a really good deal. Fast service and you can watch them cook your order. I love that they serve you on real dishes!

This place is the best! Whenever I am in the area I always make sure to go here. Me and my girlfriend actually get excited and our mouths water just thinking about this place. The prices are really great! I don’t understand how they can make any money with prices so good. You go there for lunch and get a heaping amount of rice, a large entrée, and soup or salad for around $ 6. When you leave you are FULL. The service is also excellent, friendly and FAST. The food is always WOK’d fresh right in front of you and comes to you piping hot. I wish I loved closer — I would probably frequent this place multiple times per week. Been going here for probably 13 years now and have never been disappointed, doesn’t matter what I order off the menu it is always good. Favorites are beef and broccoli and garlic shrimp. I don’t understand some of the 1 star ratings I see on here, what is wrong with these people?

FRESHOFFTHEBOAT — Think you’ve had good Chinese food, but you’ve never been here? Wait until you try this place. PARKING — Easy huge parking lot INSIDE– Quaint and simple and Buddha greets you with good fortune at the counter. The lady that took my order I believe is the owner. Very sweet I might add, and helpful. THEFOOD– This is authentic Chinese food, you are not going to get red sweet and sour chicken here. This is the real deal, comparable to WoHop in NYC. The only difference is there isn’t a creepy stairway leading you into a cave like underground. Which if you have been to WoHop you know what I’m talking about, the old Triad tunnels. The portions are big and filing. Even lunch specials is a lot of food. I was there for lunch I got a choice of soup or salad and chicken with rice a pot sticker and also a foil wrapped chicken and a egg roll, of course can’t forget the fortune cookie either. Everything came out fast and fresh ! I can’t stress that enough, I hate when I go to a Chinese restaurant and it feels like you’ve been served the left overs from the night before. This food was fresh and hot and I could tell was made to order. Even the fortune cookie was fresh, which never happens. INTHEEND– If you are smart like Buddha you will come here. 如果你是聪明人喜欢佛,你会来这里。

5⁄5 — House Special Chicken. Flavorful and plentiful. Reminds me of Pick up Stix, but better. 5⁄5 — Honey Walnut Shrimp. Think about your favorite honey walnut shrimp from another Chinese restaurant. This is better. The sauce is just sweet enough and the walnuts are never stale(very fresh and crispy, in fact). If you’re in the area and looking for a quick and delicious fix to hold you over until your next craving for Chinese, try ‘em out. Plus, the workers are delightfully kind as well.

Called in and placed a to-go order around 8pm and the food was mediocre. Ordered their beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken, house special fried rice, pot stickers, and house special pan fried noodles and a few other dishes. The kung pao chicken had a ton of water chestnuts and hardly any chicken and was not flavorful at all. Very bland. The beef and broccoli was decent but the pieces were on the larger side and the dish was cold so I had to heat it up. When I was putting the house special fried rice on my plate, I found a piece of a blue rubber band in the rice. Gross! There were also large chunks of chicken coming out but after I saw the blue rubber band piece I wasn’t going to bother eating the rice now. The pot stickers weren’t too oily and are always consistent. The noodles were alright. To say the least, the food was not that good and I’ve had much better elsewhere. No matter how many times I try to give Quick Wok another try, I always end up disappointed with their poor food quality. With the number of dishes I have tried at this location, I have never had one that was great. The only decent dish would be their orange chicken and sometimes they even mess that up! There are much better Chinese places that I’d rather go to and are much better. I won’t be wasting my money here ever again! Sorry Quick Wok, you need to step up your food game as it is very weak and poor quality.

Maybe I’m just used to my regular Chinese take out, or maybe this place just isn’t anything to brag about. At All. Ever. I love Chinese. I’ve tasted some pretty great stuff(my favorite being Mandarin Chinese near Southwestern College). Because I live too far from that area, I had to find a new favorite— not the most convenient or the cheapest. The best TASTING Chinese. I guess I’ll have to keep looking because I felt this compares to Drive Thru Chinese. Grabbed some vegetable chow mein and Orange chicken(came with a side of white rice) and I thought, this is the DINNER portion size?! I paid $ 19 for a SIDE of white rice, vegetable chow mein and Orange chicken! The chicken was lackluster to say the least. Dry, tiny pieces of chicken and not what I expect to see for a dinner size. Chow mein: no flavor WHATSOEVER, although I did like the texture/consistency of the thick noodles, but you can get that at most walk in Chinese food places.(I like the thick noodle, not thin). Definitely not worth my $ 19. I’ll never come here again.

It was delicious and the greatest part is that there is NOMSG! Hallelujah! I came in with 3 very hungry guys on a Saturday night,(just wait til you see how much we ordered). The waitress was very sweet and attentive and answered any questions we had about the vast menu. We ended up ordering the House Special Chicken, House Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork, Hot and Sour Soup, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Potstickers, and Cream Cheese Wontons. We CLEARLY over ordered. But everything was SO good without being too heavy(surprising for takeout style Chinese food) that we managed to eat every little sweet, salty, sour, spicy morsel. I would definitely come back. The food is great and very affordable, esp when feeding a party with the appetite of a small army. Did I mention that they make everything to order and DONT. USE. MSG?!
