I love subway but was too lazy to drive far, so I went to Quiznos. I ordered a large meatball deli sub and a large harvest chicken salad. The sub was suppose to be toasted but it was only warmed up and soft, not toasted. However, I loved the salad so much I went back again. So 3 stars seems fair.

Uh, wait, where did the Veggie sub go? Maybe the menu has changed or maybe this location is doing something a little different, but the only vegetarian option now is the«Make Your Own Sub». Oh, well. At least it saves time deciding what to order. It is annoying, though, that the coupons I get from their e-club always exclude the«Make Your Own Sub,» making them valid only on critter sandwiches and thus useless to me. The workers here are generally very nice. There’s one guy in particular who always seems happy to see me and makes sure things are running smoothly. The only two rough spots are the young, dark-haired girl who frequently runs the register and has a perpetual grump on, and a guy working the«toppings» side who doesn’t speak English. I felt so bad for him because he was really trying, but it was painful to watch everyone ask for each topping, only to have the guy point at a different vegetable and look up with hopeful desperation to see if that was the right one. However, that was probably better than when Grumpy Girl made my sandwich once, saying as though it was one word, «Lettuce-tomato-onions-okay?» Um, no to two-thirds of that, and please take off the lettuce you just put on there before asking me if I wanted lettuce. Seriously, that’s my biggest sub-place pet peeve: Wait a dang second and I’ll tell you exactly what I want on it. In any case, it’s a Quiznos. If you’ve eaten at one, you know what it tastes like, and this one is no different. The food is decent. Prices seem a little high, but it’s 2012 and we’re in UTC/La Jolla, so what do you expect? Parking in this lot is a nightmare around lunch time. However, any parking rage you might end up with can be mitigated with a visit to the ducks who live by the pond right next to Quiznos. Quiznos always has fresh brewed iced tea. #winning Also, I would eat more Quiznos subs if they brought back the Spongmonkey commercials circa 2003. Seriously, put those in heavy prime-time rotation and I’ll promise you two visits a week. I think this might be my most ADD review to date…

Literally about 10 minutes ago, I just ate a Quizno’s Mesquite Chicken. Please see the photo I uploaded. The left is the corporate picture, and the right is my picture of what I just ate. Can anyone else see what the problem is? At least I had a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupon so it was $ 3.50 instead of $ 6.99. Meh

Pretty good food for what I expect every time I come to Quiznos. The location is KEY for me. I live in the area and we are pretty limited for fast healthy food. Its pretty quick, healthy and filling. So Quiznos is usually my choice when I am on the go in my area. The $ 5 foot long Oven Roasted Turkey Cheddar is usually my choice. You can tell, they want to get you in and out really quick, as there is usually 10 – 12 people inside here, especially during the week at lunch time. Usually they load you up with TOO much lettuce and not enough meat. How about switching that around! haha. Pretty good bang for the buck, just make sure you pick from the $ 5 sandwiches, or you will be gorged with a $ 10 sandwich.

Nothing fancy… they take your order and make it. They aren’t very customer service oriented but they were kind. They seemed to enjoy talking to each other than helping out their customers. However they made my sandwich and I used my groupon. Glad theres a quiznos close to work And Its not awful… I would like like more attention than your co coworks when you’re taking my order and money!

When it’s a quick, healthy snack you’re after, Quiznos stands out from the myriads of fast food places with their delicious, fresh subs ready to go within minutes. I specifically like this location in UTC for its convenience, accessibility and cleanliness. Never crowded even during lunch hours, it’s the perfect spot to swing by when you have no space for anything more substantial in your schedule. Roughly $ 5 will get you a very decent 11-inch«Everyday Value» sub with your choice of turkey, ham, chicken, beef or veggie caprese. Also, unlike Subway, the ingredients really are relatively fresh and taste great. Not bad for a health-conscious lunch on the go.

So I attempted the Prime Rib, Swiss and mushroom reg sandwich($ 8). The sandwich is descent. It’s already customized so I didn’t request additional condiments. I would have preferred a more toasted sub since I like my breads well-done. Didn’t think to ask, but do they accommodate? For this sandwich being close to 1000cal, I found it disappointing that I was hungry a couple hours later.

…best flavored out of the sub-sandwich chains… take advantage of their daily coupons… just Google or sign up on their website… …the prime rib with mushroom and swiss is the best…

I work right up the street so this is one of the places I go when I’m broke and lazy. ~$ 5 gets you a bread and lettuce sandwich with some processed meat toppings. It’s Quiznos people, you’ve all had it someplace else… well guess what, it’s gonna taste the same here! What do I recommend? Doesn’t matter because it’s gonna be forgettable the next day anyway. The staff is pretty cool from my experience so be nice to them. How would you like it if you had to make 4 million toasted sandwiches everyday during lunch rush?

This Quizno’s location is terrible! I’ve been to other Quizno’s before and been satisfied with my food. This particular place is not worth going to. When we came in there were 3 people working, none of which greeted us or even asked what we wanted for the first few minutes. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 large sandwiches(we had a buy one get one free coupon) and a drink. I’m not sure what it was but my sandwich looked like it had been toasted but really wasn’t. They also skimped on the filling and put a lot of lettuce in my California Club. 1. Rude employees 2. Bad sandwich making 3. Kind of expensive Will not be back.

Quiznos is edible, but fairly expensive. It isn’t really a pleasure to eat the food though. However, I eat here far more often than I should because it is near where I live and easily accessible. I wish there were more fast and good restaurants in the area.

While waiting for my suit to be laundered, I decided to get a bite to eat at this Quiznos location. It really sucked :-) I walk in and approach the counter, and after 3 – 4 minutes, the lone culinary expert behind the counter never even acknowledged me. I finally asked if she was the only person working, and out come Frick and Frack from out of nowhere. One of the guys rudely asked, «What do you want?» After ordering, the server never asked what I wanted on my Sammie. He just added a little lettuce and walked back to serve other customers. Once I sat down, I realized why he was upset and in a hurry. He came and sat next to my table and began playing a video game with his friend who came in while I waited on my order. Incredible!!! :-) I can go on, but I just want to say, «Don’t visit this Quiznos if you’re in that area.

I stop by occasionally if I’m in a rush to eat and want something fast but«healthy». This, coupled with the everyday $ 5 subs and the $ 4 torpedoes(yum, ciabatta bread), is the only reason I come. Ok, and the bar of pickles and banana peppers too. But otherwise, this Quiznos is pretty much your average Quiznos. The lack of stars is due to the upkeep of the place itself; I’m mostly commenting on the drink section. I sometimes get the combo meal with the drink and chips, but on more than a few occasions, I’ve noticed that their lemons are dried out and not kept on ice or anything. Because I don’t want to use what looks like 3-day-old lemons in my drink, I was called high-maintenance by my friend when I asked if they had any other lemons. On one occasion, I decided against my better judgment and used the lemons that were sitting out and put it into my soda. I later noticed that the lemons were MOLDING, but not until after the boy had taken a big gulp of my pepsi(he wasn’t very happy). Also, I came last week around dinner time. I decided to get their iced tea, which is a separate machine from the soda. I took a sip of it, and then sniffed it. It smelled RANCID, like it was about to start molding and as if it sat there for days. I spit it back out into my cup and told one of the younger guys there and asked for a new cup. He then responded as he handed me a new cup, «Oh, psh yeah you shouldn’t drink that. I’m about to pour it out.» In my mind, I was wondering why they even bothered leaving out the tea if even the workers think it wasn’t fit to drink. He said that they make new tea each day, but either the dispenser has not been washed in a year or something cuz it was stankayyy. But that was seriously disgusting. Honestly, it sounds pretty ridiculous that I went there for lunch an hour ago if this stuff happened. But cheap, «healthy», and nearby, I’ll still come here for the sandwiches… and ONLY for that.

This Quizno’s used to be a bit sketchy — but i think they’ve improved their service. The wife and I went there for a late lunch on Saturday, and had good service. I got the turkey pesto Torpedo, which was good, but felt a bit small — i guess for $ 4 price, it fits about right, and since i wasn’t super hungry, it was just what i needed. It did tend to drip a bit with the pesto oil, so be warned when eating. My wife got her usual — a smokehouse beef dip, and enjoyed it. Their water, which is dispensed from their SOBE dispenser, comes out a little on the pink side. Overall, Quizno’s is good stuff, and this location is pretty standard. If only they brought back their $ 5 for everyday value large sandwiches.

To all those who love the Sonoma Turkey Sammies… you can get a Sonoma Turkey Torpedo, you just have to ask for it. I love the people who work here. They’re always so nice and since I go there about once a week, they always say«the usual?». I’m like Norm at Cheers in this joint. The toastiness is the kicker for me, by the time I get my sammich back to work it’s still warm and not all hard & crunchy like Subway’s version of «toasting». Do they use a convection microwave or something? It’s just gross that your Subway bread is petrified by the time you sit down to eat it. Yuckers.

Ah, Quiznos, how hated you are. It’s not your fault, though. The grease pouring out of your sandwiches snuck in while you weren’t looking. The prices on the board were increased last night by a one-armed bandit — I saw him. And the commercials requesting us to «stick it in» were a blackmail from your cousin in the mafia, trying to ruin the company because his mother died of a terrible transfat accident. I know this Quiznos. But I still love you. Well, your Sammie’s, at least. And only the Turkey Sonoma and the Alpine chicken, to be specific. They are very tasty. But when you like 2 items out of a 50 item list, well, I can only give so much. In this case, that will be two stars. Sorry, Quiznos, but that will have to do. I just can’t risk getting capped by your mafia cousin. You’re just not worth that much to me.

Thanks a lot for nothing! I went in last night with my boyfriend to redeem our free sub coupon that we received in the«Million Sub Giveaway» last week. I constantly eat at Subway, so I’m thinking this is something similar. First of all, the cashier tells my boyfriend and I to pick a cookie or bag of chips and hands us two cups. We think she’s making our coupons a combo– so nice of her, right? NOT. She tells us our subtotal. I then tell her I don’t really need the cookie or drink. She says she can’t validate the coupon without making my order a combo. WHAT? Second, my boyfriend was starving, so he quickly unwrapped the sandwich when we got home… only to find that the sandwich was so tiny, it must have been meant as a snack for my tiny 2.5-lb yorkshire terrier. I think he polished off his beef cheesesteak dip sandwich in literally 4 bites. And it was only«alright». Next, we each took a bite of the honey bourbon chicken. Subway wins hands-down. For the would-have-been price of this sandwich, you could have totally gotten a sweet onion chicken or oven roasted chicken breast foot-long from Subway, versus something that looked like… I don’t even know what to say about it. Needless to say, we will NEVER be back.

According to Unilocal,5 stars means«Woohoo! As good as it gets!» Yup, Quiznos subs is about as good as it gets. It’s $ 5 large sub(11 inches to be exact) retaliation to Subway’s $ 5 footlong shames all other sub-chains(haha, get it?) with its affordability, simplicity in variations, and perfect toasting — every single time. Sure, there might not be as many vegetables, but sometimes, life gets too complicated with all the olivesbellpeppersonionspicklescucumbers… i mean. STOP. Quiznos, just give me dem basics — my tomatoes and generous portion of lettuce — that’s all I really need. Friendly staff at this one(I once asked for extra tomatoes and got them!) and very clean, close to where UCSD students live.

Aren’t these all the same? I agree with Eugene, Quiznos pwnz0rz Subway. Subway makes their sandwiches so quickly and they don’t put enough love into it. Quizno’s takes about 30 seconds more on your sandwich but those 30 seconds make a world of a difference. Yay for toastyness and all the banana peppers I want. One time I wasn’t hungry and just ate banana peppers while my friend ate his sandwich. That was fun!
