Theres a guy selling warm tamales, meat section, fruits, veggies, granolas, mexican sweet bread, flowers, even a clothing section!
DUDE THEY ARE SO CHEAP! Finally someone who understands everyone needs to eat so they keep their prices reasonable!

They even have an old time stamp machine. It was pretty legit.

OPEN EVERYDAY 4AM-​8PM. Great market! Family owned. Great affordable prices! Fruit and veggies always fresh! Meat department, tortillas, candy, piñatas, fresh fruit and veggie salads made ddaily. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :)

At the front of the market near the register, they have chips and salsa samples. Try some and you will end up buying a bag of chips and a tub of salsa. It’s that good. They make THE BEST SALSA FRESCA!!! It’s only $ 1.99/lb too!
I tried the tamales from the cart out front too. The corn was a little on the firm side, but I still enjoyed them. My favorite was the jalapeño and cheese one. Not sure what kind of cheese they use, but it wasn’t stringy or melted. It was just plain good. At only $ 1.50 a pop, grab at least 3 for lunch!

This place has the best salsa fresca I have ever had and it’s way less expensive than the chain salsas you find in glass bottles at your local supermarket. The chips are authentic and tasty as well. Bring this combo to a party and you will be the man!
I got a piece of pan dulce for $ 0.34 and it was soft, sugary and rich. Will definitely return.
Tamales are sold outside the store for $ 1.50 a pop for Chicken, Beef, Jalapeño and cheese, or Pork. I went ahead and ordered 1 of each. My favorite was is in ths order: Beef, Jalapeño and cheese, Pork, Chicken.
Will come back weekly for at least the salsa!

This is a good market. It’s no-​frills, targeting the traditional Mexican population of the neighborhood. 60 percent of the store is fruits & veggies. Tamale stand in front. Old school. I bet if you came to this neighborhood in the 50s, you’d find stores stocking the exact same goods. Not a lot of prepackaged stuff, but not all nouveau organic either. I think if you did all your shopping here, you’d be pretty healthy, and not broke. Of course, you can also load your basket with pan dulce and crema Mexicana.
I come here a lot on my way to Padre games to buy some nuts and a drink. For some reason, not everyone does this.

I have been buying my veggies from here for a while. When I can’t go organic, I come to Rancho’s. Sometimes they have pesticide-​free items, but it is hit and miss. I don’t find my english veggies (parsnips, turnips, kale, leeks, etc) but all their items are a bargain. The meat counter is great, I get really skinny lean young whole chickens there and mexican handcrafted cheeses. They have some bulk items, 3 for $ 1 pan dulce, local fresh tortillas/​bread, fresh salsas, spices, condiments/​confections from latin america, Alta Dena rGbh-​free dairy items, sometimes cage free eggs are available, fresh tortilla and tamale masa, mexican sparkling mineral water (2 Liters for $ 1.79!!!) and other great deals. Try the tamales from the lady who has the cart in front. The excellent staff will help you prepare your menus and give you ideas if you are unfamiliar with cooking mexican cuisine.
