Rifftrax is hilarious! I usually watch their riffs at the San Marcos movie theater. Also their tv specials are pretty funny. In your fingertips is hilarious, it was so funny the kids making things out of sugar and of course the robot kite. I’ve seen the Santa Claus riff, the Starship Troopers riff, and Andres the Giant riff.

The appetizers at RiffTrax are the best. Make sure you come during happy hour(3−7pm), and order the mozzarella sticks. Also, the head waiter, Bill Corbett, is required to do a country western line dance every 25 minutes, so make sure you get a good seat for that. It is a custom to throw peanut shells at him(or anyone else), so feel free to join in. For an entrée, try the Murphy bread. It looks butt ugly; it tastes butt ugly; however, it’s still better than anything at Applebees.

Starship Troopers Is RiffTrax’d Boldly In Ways Even Vulcanized Rubber Never Feels Such Heat! SITREP Okay okay. There are many different ways to «parody» a film or film genre. Take Spaceballs, Mel Brooks hiLARious lampooning of the Star Wars franchise and many other Science Fiction Films. Fun to watch, mentally make comparisons in your mind from what you remember of the source-films as you see Mel Brooks deconstruct silliness of these films through his adept humor. BUT…EXPENSIVE! Making a film is … EXPENSIVE! Not everyone has $ 50-$ 100 million dollars lying around these days just to make a film parody. THEALTERNATIVESETUP! But leave it to the boys of Mystery Science 3000 — Kevin, Mike & Bill — to come up with…(how should I say this? AH!)… a more low-tech, less expensive way to «RIFF» a film. So enter RIFFTRAX. Instead of watching a lampoon of a film, get the ACTUALFILM, have it running and do the lampooning synchronous with the film! And it turns out into such brilliant fun, such as with Starship Troopers which I just saw recently at the Downtown Plaza Theater in Sacramento, CA on Thursday night, August 17, 2013. RIFFTRAXSTARSHIPTROOPERS OMFG! I both laughed & cried, I just couldn’t contain my emotional effusiveness with this hiLARious take on Starship Troopers. The humor was dead-on, dead-pan & deadly funny as Mike, Kevin & Bill shredded the characters(Denise Richards painful to watch plastic smile all through-out the film), the special effects, the CGI, the plot(as much as there is one) and EVEN bringing in the back-stories on the actors-lives themselves(hearing«Charlie Sheen’s name dropped in Denise Richards scenes was… freaking funny to say the least! hiLARious! FREAKIN hiLARious!!! And the dam Gorilla-grams were such a creative funny way to take care of …(how should I say it…) …the more T n’ A heavy scenes(to ensure the PG rating)! BRAVO to your creativity! CINEMALOGISTICS The Number #2 theater in the Century Downtown Plaza theater proved to be a great venue for this film, and Fandango only charged $ 2 service cost so I could make sure I got my $ 12.50 adult ticket a week ahead of time since this was a crowded night indeed! THELOWDOWN If you can, catch the encore presentation of this particular RiffTrax in September, but also be prepared to see some great Halloween RiffTrax come up on a classic Zombie Film! Thank you, Riff-Trax!

Have you ever wanted to laugh your ass off during the entire length of a deathly horrible movie, and actually ENJOY yourself? From the creators of MST3K — Mystery Science Theater 3000 for those of you non-nerdy folk out there — comes the brilliant innovation that is Rifftrax. If you haven’t seen the MST3K show when you were little or on Netflix, three characters watch bad movies and make fun of them the entire time. This is known as «riffing.» From their website, you select a movie they have«riffed» and download an audio file. Separately, you obtain the movie through some method. They have links on their website on where to find the actual movies. Play the movie per usual and load the Rifftrax file on an audio player. The best riffed movie I have ever seen is Twilight(the first movie). It is absolutely hilarious. The jokes DONOTSTOP. Sample of two riffs below: ____ [As Edward checks out Bella in the cafeteria] «Usually a pale creepy guy staring at you from across the dining room just means you’re eating at Denny’s.» ____ [During the awkward lab scene full of terrible acting] Bella to Edward: «Any… cold… wet… thing… I don’t really… [shakes head]» Rifftrax: «Any… cold… wet… thing. to make me stammer… and make me have… weird… facial ticks.» ____ Note that these are just two hilarious riffs within so many more they have in the movie. They even have an alternate song for the one Edward writes for Bella. So awesome! Obtain the movie(unless you already have it) and get the Rifftrax Twilight file here — . They’ve even covered Short clips that were filmed in the 70’s and 80’s and were ridiculous. These Shorts address things like safety, hygiene, difficulty in relating to women, and more! Good times. Perfect if you don’t have enough time to dedicate to a full-length movie. TIP: GREATDATENIGHT. Who doesn’t want to spend a whole movie laughing their ass off with someone hot? Just sayin’.
