What an amazing experience to sail on Romancing the Wind. I have sailed with them twice once for Silver Gate Yacht Clubs Schooner Cup and again for a group charter. From the moment we walked on-board Captain Jack and Hostess Susan made us feel right at home. The crew was so attentive, the food delicious and the service top notch. We had an amazing day of sailing. Our group charter was even better. Susan took care of every details so I could relax and Captain Jack made us feel like true sailors. I would highly recommend Romancing the Wind for a group charter. It is perfect for a wedding or corporate meeting since it can accommodate 20 plus passengers. The price was right and the service fantastic.

What a treat! An opportunity to help raise the sails and take part in sailing this amazing boat out of San Diego Bay into the Pacific Ocean! I’ll never for get the moment when the wind caught the sails for the first time that day and the the boat sliced through the salty water as dolphins danced in her wake! AWESOME! It was like a romance novel come true! I was in my glory. The crew(Jack and Susan) were as welcoming and warm as we took in the perfect San Diego weather that day on our way past Point Loma. Their cruises are normally about 3 hours long and offer free drinks and snacks. They charge $ 95 per person with group discounts. Well worth it if you love the ocean or sailing. It’s best to call and see what is happening beforehand as there could be some special events happening or predicted weather that might influence the day’s sail. Be sure to bring at least a light jacket(Can get 20 degrees colder quick out at sea with the wind) and wear decent flat soled shoes if you want to help«Trim» the sails and work the boat. The boat is comprised of solid steel which makes her much more steadfast in choppy waters. However, if you aren’t accustomed to sea travel, you might want to take some precautions before hand with some sea meds to insure you are feeling OK enough to take in the beauty and experience of it all. If I ever get married again, this would be the way to go!
