The best!!! The service is HANDSDOWN the best ever! The workers obviously live it here because the tenure is amazing. We visit a few times a year for over 5 years and they are almost all still here. The food and drinks are ONPOINT!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, hoping for a good time and to relax a little before heading back to LA. There is no entry fee here, and the clerk on the first floor was very friendly in assisting us and letting us know to take the elevator to the roof. Upon exiting the elevator, we were greeted by some EDM and was immediately a little hyped. Going out of the building and onto the rooftop, there were lounging sofas all along the outside of the roof. The DJ that was spinning that afternoon was playing some future house music, which I think is perfect for a chill sunday afternoon. The pool was not very big and there weren’t very many people in it. When we entered the pool it was a bit chilly and the water was pretty colluded with stuff.

The rooftop bar over at the Andaz is a pretty cool spot complete with friendly servers, a cool ambiance/vibe and some pretty decent downtown views. The bar is fairly well appointed and the lounge seats/fire pits are plentiful. The location itself is actually pretty good as the Andaz is a nice hotel to stay at if you’re deciding to stay in downtown SD. Overall, this place is not a bad spot to get your drink on and meet up with buddies. Pros– Drinks Ambiance Seating areas Views Location Music Cons– Gets crowded on weekends Parking A tad pricey

Great rooftop bar for drinks and dancing. Stopped in here this past weekend on a Friday night. High energy vibe with DJ and multiple bars. Awesome ambiance, heaters and fire pits keep you warm and set the mood. I’ve been here a few times over the years and have also stayed at the hotel. One of my favorite outside evening venues for hanging out with friends in the Gaslamp.

I have been staying at the hotel and have had the opportunity to experience the roof top several times during my stay. On my first day I came up for coffee and breakfast. Had some kind of breakfast mash and it was delish! The coffee was perfect and black the way I like it. Afterwards I changed into my bathing suit and payed by the pool for a while. Another day I was up lounging and reading. Had some chicken drumsticks that where pretty good(mine are better) and shared a pitcher of cocktail goodness with a friend that stopped by. Last night I popped in to a private party thrown by a sponsor of the conference I attended and had a complete blast! Tons of seating, the food is good and foodie quality in my opinion. The view is spectacular and as a matter of fact I’m up here enjoying the sunset at this very moment. I would recommend this place if you are in town and even if you are not staying in the hotel. I will be back!

Here I was, searching for a fun night spot on my Friday & Saturday evenings, when all along it was at the RoofTop of the Andaz. Saturday night past midnight, hubby and I get back to our hotel and I say, let’s check out the rooftop. Because we were guests, there was no cover. The roof was the most happening place we had been to that evening. Filled w/people, couches w/fire pits, DJ and dance floor. WHAT? How could I have been missing this? But by morning at 9am, I sat on the beautiful roof top, drinking cappuccinos, soaking in San Diego views in the shade.(The Hard Rock should really study how the Andaz was able to provide shade access.) As if the views weren’t enough, the service was excellent. Bryce was attentive. Further, my Huevos Rancheros were very good. They have a pool up here, but wasn’t there long enough to check out the pool in the afternoon. This place pulls off everything from morning zen to nightly discothèque.

Beautiful space. Great views and perfect for a summer night, a group of us had drinks here and enjoyed the drunk people watching. I’m surprised not more people fall into their fire pit which is beautiful, but we saw a lot of sloppy people around it, taking pictures with their hands in the fire — and every few seconds the fire gets a little out of control. The dance area isn’t crowded, which keeps it cool and not stuffy, there are two bars so you are not stuck at one area for drinks, and there is the pool area or other side away from the dance floor so you have options as far as where you want to hang out.

Overall this is a pretty cool spot in downtown San Diego but the service was sub par at best. I really like any rooftop that has a pool and serves drinks. To make it even better they serve tacos on Sundays, 3 for $ 5 until 5 pm. We walked right in no line, no cover which was pretty cool. Then again. It sure this place could get away with charging cover because I would say it was only about half full. We found a day bed(score!!!) but apparently there was no service. I saw a cocktail server with tattoos walking around and taking orders from some of the day beds but she never came to ours. We had to go to the bar to get drinks. The wait was painful and his place wasn’t even busy. I was able to get a spot right at the bar and it took the bartenders at least 10 minutes to even acknowledge me. I ordered my drink and he went back to making drinks…5 minutes later he came back over to say what did you want again. Finally 20 minutes after I approached the bar I walk away with my beverage without even a thank you. He never even made eye contact with me. I also ordered the tacos which were a little disappointing. You get your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The meat options are chicken or steak. The toppings are salsa, cheese, jalapeños and a chili like sauce that was surprisingly good. They are street tacos so if you have an appetite you may have to get 2 orders like me. I do like the vibe and the view but I wish they had better service. Will I be back? Most likely but not running back anytime soon.

Don’t expect anything like Vegas day clubbing! Whereas Vegas day clubbing is more of the party, go crazy and wild vibe, day/rooftop pool clubs in LA and SD are more chill, and lounge-y with the relaxing kind of atmosphere :) Still fun but a different type! Pros: –Entrance is free! Hotel guests get the reserved lounge areas and chairs, but I don’t think anyone enforces it to be honest. But otherwise, when we went at 2−3ish, it wasn’t that crowded so plenty of room for everyone –towels provided for everyone –future house music(good music) — dj frankie when we went –rooftop! :)(scenary was ugly though) — we were surrounded by shorter buildings with nothing on top of their roofs. not like LA rooftop clubbing at all –clean, clean bathrooms! a lot of stalls! What I found interesting was that there was a sliding door that leads straight to the men’s restroom from inside the women’s restroom. oh lala. ;) –drinks were made pretty decently strong! my friend’s henney and coke was pretty much 95% henney and 5% coke. –There was a grill in between the pool lounge and the couch lounges with $ 5 grilled tacos! I thought that was kind of neat. Aside from the expensive price, there’s a perfect access of expensive drunchies right there! Cons: –water was dirty. although it could have been that we also went on a Sunday(most pools clean their water on Mondays) or so I’m told!

Loved this place! Stayed at the hotel and thought it was pretty awesome that they had a rooftop pool and bar. It was a Friday afternoon and had been a long ride from Santa Barbara. When I checked into the hotel I couldn’t wait to go up and use the pool. The pool is very nice with great views of San Diego and the Gas Lamp district. They have some very good beers on the beer list and the prices are more than fair. What surprised me the most is that the couch-beds that are so popular at rooftop hotels were free to guests if they weren’t reserved. Most places aren’t that generous and as I recall one of these was $ 500 last time I was at Skybar. For happy hour they have premium cocktails, basically anything made with Cazadores, Jack, Grey Goose, Dewars, Bombay and others for $ 7. Most of the pizzas and appetizers are half price so you can sit in one of the nicest settings and pay so little for great food and drink! Yea! On Friday and Saturday nights the place transforms into a nice club atmosphere with a DJ, a fire and of course the great views. Entry is free if you are a hotel guest and drinks are normal price but certainly fairly priced. All in all a very nice place to be regardless of the time of day.

If you want to live like a Baller in San Diego, grab a drink at the RoofTop600 at the Andaz San Diego. This outdoor oasis features an inviting bar, a pool area(which is exclusive guests), and plenty of comfy lounge chairs where you can sip in the panoramic city views. My co-workers and I came here for a sunset cocktail. Even though I was technically here for vacation, I felt like I was on vacation. In addition to their full bar, they also offer some enticing small plates to keep your tummy happy, including: pizzas, salads, fries, empanadas, and other tasty treats. Although they do offer a happy hour(Mon-Fri, 5pm — 8pm), don’t expect super discounted drinks. I think I paid $ 7 for a bourbon on the rocks. And when happy hour ends, drinks go back to being $ 15. I guess at the end of the day, living like a baller comes at a price.

Burger #2 for Burger Week. I was able to only do 2 burgers because nobody wanted to be unhealthy with me. I was able to convince my coworkers to get this burger with me. My boss name is Mary and she wanted to try the Bloody Mary burger and it also sounded delicious on the burger menu. It came with an egg, celery, Bloody Mary sauce, avocado and the burger patty itself had some herbs stuffed in it. The burgers did take extra long for it to come out but I love the char taste on it. The bun wasn’t roasted but everything was crunchy it we a nice change. I was surprised that I liked the celery pieces in the burger. It gave it the crunchiness whereas the egg gave it the soft gooey running part. The patty was seasoned well. I really enjoyed this burger! I’m sure it was well worth $ 5 as we asked how much fries cost and normal pricing was $ 8! Great deal for burger week.

view 5 stars DJ1 star service 5 stars vibe 1 star dance floor 1 star drink prices 3 stars average 2.67 it’s fine… i wouldn’t suggest coming here only because if i’m going to deal with the hassle of parking and coming downtown. i want to go to a club where there is banging music and dancing! this has neither. if i wanted to drink with a good view… there are many places downtown. i would prefer the hardrock. if i just wanted to drink and listen to music by a firepit… i’ve got my backyard. but the view is fabulous and really the staff is friendly it generally has very few people here(even on a saturday night)… good for a place to start off your night before heading to a dance club. i’m not hating on this place… it just isn’t for me.

Came here for the first time for our Targa Trophy event. We had a ceremony here to announce winners of the car event. Arrived around 4:30 pm. Perfect place to hang out and chill on a beautiful saturday afternoon! They have a bar but quite limited drinks. Very small list of bottled beers and craft beers. Prices were average. We also ordered a burger with french fries. The burger bun was really dry. And the french fries portion was on the small side as well. Food here is okay. I do like the multiple day beds with pillows. Also have extra small cushioned stools. I think they need more canopies covering the day beds because you’re literally sitting and burning in the sun. They also have a nice roof top swimming pool but the area is quite small so it was all occupied already. Overall nice little chill place to go.

The Andaz is a beautiful property in the heart of Gaslamp, so of course their rooftop bar has some of the most beautiful views of the San Diego skyline. I’ve come here a few times for various events and launch parties, which have been enjoyable. It’s spacious with two different bars, couches, firepits, poolside seating and cabanas. It has a really hip atmosphere in the evening. The service, on the other hand, can be an issue. During my last evening visit, we were shooed away from one end of the space because there apparently was a private party. The sign was barely readable and we questioned why there was no staff to inform us before we were able to walk around for a few minutes. I came for breakfast the next morning as I’d read somewhere that their French Toast was good. I should have looked on Unilocal first about their food because it was not as expected. The dish was oddly unbalanced; too eggy and soft in the middle of the bread. We were also ignored yet again by the staff for a while before being seated and when placing orders. All in all, the view at RoofTop 600 is just as great during the day as it is as night. However the menus are probably a little too expensive for the quality.

Excellent cocktails perfectly executed by beautiful bartenders with stunning views of the city in one of downtowns best hotels. Tons of seating and places to lounge, one nicer then the next. I have seen it be packed and be empty here, best bet is to come early. Drink prices are a bit high, but the drinks are high quality and very very good. One of my favorite places to have a drink when in San Diego.

This is a kept secret in San Diego for happy hour. Well, not anymore. haha. Premium liquor for $ 5 till 8pm! Count me in. Add another $ 3 for a grey goose dirty martini, keep them coming! The view is great, but just know you will be surrounded by a lot of douches, well from my previous experiences(I can say that on Unilocal right). Overall, great drinks, view, and service!
