This place is tiny but the food is decent… although the environment is scary af. Extremely ghetto area… I made the mistake of trying the place out for the first time with my friend at around 10 pm last night and I have never felt so scared to wait for my food. There were ladies sitting there arguing and cussing at each other and then the tables were broken and on the floor as well as some of the seats. The carne asada fries were decent, the order was huge. The guac was the runny kind not the authentic Mexican guac with tomatoes. But overall it was okay food but not worth it for the suroundings.

I’ve lived in south bay San Diego my entire life, FIVEMILESFROMTHEBORDER. And this place blows. I’m not sure why its given five stars. Its changed names about three times in the past year, La Monerca, Rosendos to Rigoberto’s. The building has changed colors, and they now have nicer looking menus… but it still sucks. I know this because I live a couple blocks away. So on to the food, again the carne tastes fishy, like its been sitting there. The tacos too, not fresh. Just something about the ingredients that they use. It just doesn’t taste fresh. And I absolutely hate it when they water down their salsa, it ends up tasting like chili water. And how could you mess up on fries? I ordered some that was way underdone. Enough said. Don’t come here unless your drunk, then you wouldn’t be able to tell its bad. lol They seriously need to step up their game and start serving quality food… if not, somebody please bulldoze this place down!

I don’t know what Rosendos they went to… but I didn’t see no prostitutes or drunks… and the food is pretty good, 24 hours is always a plus, and their hot carrots aren’t too bad either. I would say the best Hot carrots award would have to go to Valerios. even though you have to pay 70 cents for them. they are totally worth it. But Rosendos got some good food. they do however need to be a little more careful on how they prepare. one time in my burrito I found a wrapper. maybe from the plastic bag that holds the meat or something. kind of a turn off but. other than that its good.

I can not believe that both reviews of this taco shack are 5 stars. It must be a conspiracy… in fact I’m convinced. I’ve lived in Rolando for most of my life and the only people that I’ve ever seen eat there are prostitutes, drug dealers and 15 year old driving students from La Mesa driving school across the street. There is no doubt in my mind that Rosendo’s is a drug/whore front. Who ever said that this place should get 5 stars is obviously involved with the cover up. There are only three reasons I would ever go there; none of which would ever occur. 1. If I wanted a to get a sack o’ smack 2. If I was down for some cheap lovin(a short walk from The Tubs) 3. If I couldn’t afford an enema

thanks to kate r.‘s cousin, this spot was my first exposure to carne asada fries. the beef wasn’t all that, but put it together with the other stuff and it does the job well. my new favorite at that place is their FISH burrito — it is the ultimate! i thought i could hang with some fish tacos along the side… i committed some acts of gluttony and finished both and ended up at a vegetated state lying on the ground of kate’s sister’s old apartment. parking is street and is fairly easy. it is 24 hrs and seating is available outside only. come with an empty stomach because after a visit, you’ll be filling it up for sure.

This is the first place I’ve ever been introduced to CARNEASADAFRIES, just for that they get 4 stars. They have your typical late-night 24-hour mexican food. Its greasy, cheap, and tasty. I can vouch for their super or california burritos, chimichangas(heart bombs), fish tacos, and taquitos. They even have a special where they not only give you a huge fish burrito but a fish taco as well. *Edit 8÷14÷06: I remembered how much I really love this place. Sure its like a hole-in-the-wall taco shop but, we drove all the way here from downtown when San Diego has a taco shop on every corner… that just shows how much we wanted the food. Their fish taco is $ 2.20 and its ridiculously oversized. Their fish taco + burrito combo is only $ 5.10. Their carne asada fries are packed for only $ 4.99. AHhh, nothing seems to compare anymore…
