There is a reason Michelle and Manny have so many 5 star reviews. They are the best in the biz :) I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair.

My wife and I have been seeing Michelle for the past 4 years bouncing from one shop to another. Her knowledge, expertise, and skill put her in her own echelon of hair stylist. I’ve been through countless places where my experience has been, «What do you want» sit there and let them cut my hair however with Michelle, you won’t get that subpar service. What makes her stand out is that she’ll listen to what I’m looking for and cut my hair according the directional growth of my callac. She validates what you want and is not pushy with anything. Making follow up appointments is a breeze and very responsive for rescheduling because of Murphy’s Law. She reminds me that she is a «beautician not a magician» but the work she does is just simply amazing. I kid you not, I get a lot of compliments about my haircut… just not about me… but that’s another story. Would continue to come back for many years to come.

Manny and Michelle are amazing! I was a first timer today and already booked my next appointment. They know their stuff and are up for creative changes! The suite is private and very nice and you feel like you’re hanging out with friends while you’re getting glammed up. Highly recommend! They also have some cool jams playing and essential oils through a mini diffuser making for a great and relaxing environment.

After changing hair dressers many times over the years, I found Michelle about four years or so ago by referral. Not only has she done an amazing job with my hair, but she’s constantly taking classes and learning the latest techniques. She’s always steered me in the right direction on what looks best for me and I trust her completely.
Even my daughter, who is notoriously picky, won’t go to anyone else. And we love her! Michelle is just an awesome person and the best in her field. I’m happy to recommend her.

After several years of my stylists leaving/​changing locations, i fell into Michelle’s chair at Salon De La Torriente. I wish I would have found her from the start and not wasted the previous few years looking for «my stylist.» Michelle’s abilities work with my changing tastes in style. There’s nothing she can’t do when it comes to doing her part in making me look good. Her private studio offers a nice «VIP» experience too. I can relax, enjoy my own music and be made to look civilized in privacy.

I have gone to Michelle for many years and have never been disappointed. She is a true professional and always up-​to-​date on her profession … I always just leave it up to her and she suggests various alternatives … Additionally the experience is always relaxing …

Michelle is the best! Won’t go to anyone else! I have crazy hair — cow licks, weird patches — and she just makes them go away. We get appointment reminders via text, and she is flexible if we need to change the appointment. My wife also goes to her, and constantly gets comments on how great her hair looks.

Michelle has been doing my hair for about 4 years. Michelle and Manny are the best pair and I’m laughing every time I go in! I have gone from brunette to bright red and now back to brown and their color mixing is genius. The new suite is so well done: clean and spacious. I’m so happy about this private space and look forward to seeing them each month! They work with my busy schedule and create a laid back, relaxing environment complete with the best head massage at the shampoo bowl. The building is clean and very nice, with plenty of parking. Michelle Casas is the best hair stylist in San Diego. She is constantly increasing her knowledge in the hair industry by attending workshops and classes. She truly has a passion for doing hair and it shows in her work. Her Balayage is amazing to put highlights in my hair. She also uses Olaplex on my hair. It’s like magic and my hair is so soft and healthy. Book your appointments soon bc she books up fast… she’s that good!

Get ready. Get set. Get perfect hair here! Michelle has been my stylist for over a decade and I’ve just never ever needed to take myself or my family to anyone else. I’ve been highlighted, colored, cut, washed and blown to beautiful more times than I could count. Now that she finally has her own salon I can’t imagine how happy she will be. But seriously, maybe I should give less stars because I still need my monthly appointments– you guys better not get to busy for me!!! This Salon just opened or should I say is opening as I write this review. The Phenix Salon is actually many individual salons located under one roof. Each Stylist has their own «space» or more like a «office». I recently went to have my hair cut by Michelle Casas of «Salon De La Torriente». The setup is unique and I enjoyed the ambience. Refreshments (bottled water) were available with a choice of music if so inclined. And of course the reason I go to Salon De La Torriente is for fine haircuts. Michelle does both men and women hair and I can vouch for the men’s cut but I suspect she is equally proficient with women’s hair as getting a appointment is about a 2 week wait, though if your on her email list or FB, she sends out notifications if an opening comes up, give them a try, great cuts, great service.
