Yippee! I had SO much fun last week getting my hair cut by Angie :) I felt pampered and cared for as she sculpted by new «do» from outta control mop-​top to sleek pixie with an edge! Thanks, Angie!

Solon Fringe is a fantastic Salon. Angie is great, I have been a client for years. As Angie has grown to know me, my personality, she will suggest fun cuts and colors! I have loved them all. She is professional, fun and current. I always get compliments on my color and cuts! I highly recommend Angie and her new Salon on Kenyon. Thanks Angie for always making me look so good!

I’ve been going to Angie, the owner, for probably 10 years. My mom introduced her to me when she was working at another salon and I fell in love. The woman is so sweet, passionate, and talented. So talented that she opened up this salon. Obviously, I traveled with her. This woman is a color master! I’ve gone from blonde, to brunette, to black, to auburn, to blonde and this woman has done a flawless execution every time without any trace of orange or green. I’ve since moved away from San Diego, but I will always recommend Angie to anyone.

I get bored with my hair really fast and I always feel a need to constantly do something to it to crave my whims. Unfortunately I decided to bleach my hair on my own (my hair naturally is a dark brown,) I did a terrible job and was panicking about what to do to salvage it. I decided to call Fringe and Stella picked up. She took me in last minute within 20 minutes. She was taking care of her appointments and me at the same time. She did a fantastic job, and I would recommend her a lot.

Where to start… Well I am extremely happy with Kristal Rees «my new hair stylist», words can not explain how awesome she is. My first visit with her was a few months ago, I was a complete mess from my prior hair stylist. I had dark on top and platinum blonde underneath with dark under blonde, yeah sounds weird but was actually pretty cool other than the jack up blonde I had where the roots connect to the previous blonde (totally didn’t blend in well).
Kristal fixed my hair by blending all new colors throughout my hair– 3 dimensional full highlight/​lowlights. My hair now looks healthy and I get multiple compliments on it.
She takes her time to get your hair PERFECT, so don’t expect an in and out appointment if your getting a full head highlights. I rather have some take a long time than to rush through and not care. The price is totally reasonable around $ 95 and most places charge $ 150+ for what I asked Kristal for.
I will definitely be sending my friends and family her way and if you make an appointment with her, you will not be disappointed. I forgot to add she is flexible with my schedule which makes it easy for me. My hair photos are on her website

Stella was so great! I am a new person with my keratin treatment and color! Stella was kind, professional and knew her stuff. I highly recommend Stella. She was a good listener about hair and life, and the salon is relaxed and comfortable. You always take a chance when you serenader your hair to someone new — but don’t hesitate to book with Stella. You won’t be disappointed.

Kristal Rees was awesome. I bought the buywithme coupons for really affordable haircut & dry and partial highlights and dry for $ 20 and $ 30 respectively. She was very accomodative with my busy schedule. She was sweet and very nice. She did a great job. Even when I got home and my highlights changed to a lighter color than I wanted, she took me back and fixed the problem with a smile and even adjusted my cut with more layering with no problem. Kristal was awesome and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

This review is long overdue! i love writing positive reviews, and this is definitely one of them!
My regular stylist was out of town, and I was scheduled to be in a wedding in ten days, so I Unilocaled some salons near my house and came up with Salon Fringe. Located super-​conveniently on University in Hillcrest, I called, spoke to Stella, and made an appointment for that Wednesday.
Stella greeted me with a cup of hot tea, and we got to talking about my hair. My hair is naturally a dark honey blonde color with dark roots that eventually get lightened by the sun as they grow out, but I like to have lighter, more golden highlights put in. Stella was amazing. A great conversationalist (we bonded over our mutual love of Corepower Yoga), she was able to seamlessly blend in where my old highlights ended while adding my beautiful new highlights. I came away with bright, shiny, healthy, natural-​looking hair. I have never had so many compliments on my hair!
The cut was perfect, as well. I am in the process of transitioning from a short funky bob to long layers, and usually, because my hair grows so freaking insanely fast, I end up with a «shelf» of hair. I have not had any issues with looking like I’m in-​between styles.
Price-​wise, Fringe is about on-​par with most salons in the area – technically, they were about $ 20 cheaper than my regular salon. (So, for me, I spent $ 130 before tip for highlights, cut, and keratin conditioning treatment.)
I have my next appointment with Stella next week, and I can’t wait to see the results! Oh, and returning clients receive a discount (10%, I think, but I don’t know for sure, and I don’t know if it’s every time thereafter – probably not).
They also do tinsel and feathers! Fun!!!

Chase has done a fabulous job with my highlights and cut for the five years I’ve been his loyal client! I followed him to this location after he moved from Crown Point. He always makes me look elegant and sexy. He is totally in control! He also gives my two sons and daughter great cuts. Plus, he’s a ton of fun. I love the salon as well, the atmosphere is fun and cool.

I just moved here and didn’t know where to get my haircut. I hate the trial and error process of finding a new salon. I got this right on my first try-​this salon is wonderful! Angie listened to my what I wanted and gave me a great cut. I still can’t believe this is my hair, it looks fantastic. I will definitely be back.

This salon is top notch! Always accomodating to walk ins, the stafff is awesome and owner, Angie Pastoriza is an amazing colorist.

I have relinquished control to Niki. I give her ideas of what I would like to do but she always comes up with something great.
I called one morning for an appointment. Niki offers to squeeze me in at 3. I want to be blonde. She tells me to get in at 1:30.
I came out with the best color since the last time she colored my hair (chocolate brown with brilliant blue underlay). I had complained it was to easy to put my hair up in a ponytail but I love the length. She gave me a style that was easy to leave down and not bother me while I work.

Stella at Fringe Salon has earned my undying loyalty. I had been wearing my hair long, straight, and usually in a boring old ponytail until I went to her looking for a change. She took one look at my hair and asked if I had ever worn it curly. I said I hadn’t, but told her to go ahead and work her magic. She layered it in a way it had never been cut before, and lo and behold, my hair had this great, tousled, wavy look! This was the first time she had cut my hair, but it was as if she had been my stylist for years. I highly recommend her (plus she’s fun to talk to!). I followed her to Fringe, and I like the salon a lot, too – totally unpretentious, cute, and mellow – it doesn’t feel like you’re in a club instead of a salon, which has been my experience in some more trendy places.

Great shop, great group of stylists. I’ve been going to the owner, Angie, for many years and am so happy to see that she has her own place now.
A testament to Angie’s talents. I get many compliments on my cut and color, but I just have to say that this one surpassed all–
I had a cold, I was in bed until 2pm. I got up to go get some soup and cold medicine at the local grocery store. I finger combed my hair and put my bangs in a clippy thing. Brushed my teeth and didn’t even change my jammie pants. When I was coming out of the store, a woman stopped me and said, «my god, I love your hair. Could I get the name of your stylist?» For that alone, Angie is a hair goddess.
