The wines were ok. We got a wine tasting from Group on. The staff was nice but we arrived right after opening. They were in prepared

I didn’t give it 5 stars because the bottle of wine we had tasted like balsamic vinegar.(Boarhog 2.2) It was pleasant at first, but by the second glass it was getting way too acidic. We missed their tasting(ends at 7:00), so we were forced to get a bottle we had never drunk before. I really enjoyed our time there though. The lamb flatbread was good, the atmosphere was great and there was live music that wasn’t too loud or obnoxious. We will definitely try it again. (SDC– I will update my stars if my experience changes.)

Wine is great but when you cancel your membership it takes 7 months to cancel and $ 160.00 later… i got an account back in January paid the intial 80 dollars no prob… month later called to cancel it no prob told that there will be no more charges… two months later get charged again called spoke to the manager was assured refund and there wont be any charges… so about three days ago checking my bank statement, i was charged again call the manager… she told me it would get resolved by the owner and that the owner would call, recieved no phone call i called twice and was told the owner would get ahold of me when he gets in… so basically i was charged 1606 months later still isnt resolved

Love it! The wine is delicious and the service is wonderful. I would highly recommend to a wine lover who wants to sit down and sip on a few great glasses with friends. The music is low and relaxing and the atmosphere is clean and rustic. I would totally come back here. 6 generous wine samples for 10 dollars? Can’t beat that!

This was our second wine stop of the day. If the first location was Strike 1, this was definitely Strike 2. We walked in with a Groupon for tastings for two. The room was a bit plain but fit into this trendy area of Little Italy in a weird sort of way. In addition to the not so inviting atmosphere, the wines were horrible. We like dry reds and kept hoping that they would get better as we went down the list. That didn’t happen. After our first couple of tastes, we decided to order some olives because we felt that we needed something else in our mouths to help the wines. That didn’t work either. I can but jarred olives from the grocery store that taste better. After our tastes, the Groupon included a glass of our«favorite.» Well, we went with the merlot because that was probably the best of the wines, but even then, we couldn’t finish the glass. I don’t think I’ve ever left wine in a glass… ever. The only good thing about this visit and the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one was our server. She was great… very attentive and knowledgeable about their wines. I really don’t enjoy giving such harsh reviews but I won’t be returning to SD Cellars.

This place is nice and relaxing. The Saturday that we went, there was a live band but the patio had an area where I could converse with my date. Food/wine: great selection Ambience: relaxing and fun Service: the waitress had good knowledge in her wines and was friendly Price: fair and affordable

This has been the worst experience. They don’t have 2 of the four white wines on the menu. Then I ask to order meatballs and they are out. I wanted ice water with lemon and they don’t have ice and are coincidentally they have no lemon either, and apparently it left with the propane for the heaters on the patio so I was freezing! I will never come here again even with the Groupon! Is this a Jamaican restaurant«we no have dat» !

Wow! The house wines are top notch. The food pairing was amazing. We were a vegan and a meat eater, both wine lovers. We both had a great range of options. Todd, the owner and wine-maker, seems passionate about the wine-making process and seems to be putting in the effort to bring urban wine-making [back?] on the map in Little Italy. Besides the guest wines, we tried every single wine. The Viognier and the Boarhog were our favorites. Certainly, come in before 7 to participate in the wine tasting option. The wine types rotate/new ones are introduced every so often, so the tasting is worth the exploration every time. We definitely recommend the fried curry leaf almonds and the sweet, high-pressure pickled cucumbers. They are unlike anything you’ve ever tried. Also, the duck charcuterie is a must try! They truly utilized the entire duck in a wonderful way. It was impressive to say the least. This place has been open only two years. I’m excited to witness it’s maturation and future development.

Had lunch across the street and noticed San Diego Cellars. YAY, I love wine. I purchased a groupon which cost me $ 12. Wine tasting for 2 with 6 tasters. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice. They have a few beers on tap too. White Wines: Chardonnay, Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc–(Guest Wine) Red Wines: Barbera Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon I think the Sauvignon Blanc was the best to me and it was their own. :(I had a double pour of that. I love red wines but the reds here did not do me good. I gave my merlot to Tupac. Overall, I’ll probably return again and this time to eat while tasting as food can compliment the wine.

Super cozy winery — It has a very nice setting. I haven’t tried their food yet but really like their wine. Live music is amazing and it just makes the ambiance more and more beautiful. I will be there on March 5th again because Justin Werner is performing:) Strongly recommended

This place was awesome! Such a good deal on Groupon for $ 22 for wine tasting for four. The deal comes with 6 different tastes of wine and the owner is so passionate about his brews. He makes them all in house personally. He is so personable and nice. The food was amazing as well. We got the order of meatballs and fresh pasta. This is as fresh as it gets people, the pasta is literally rolled out by hand and the meatballs were so fresh that they were melt in your mouth. The sauce on the meatballs was very light and delicious. I would definately come here again!

I came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. There was a nice live band there playing old rock covers and the crowd was quite lively. Every wine I had was delicious and the bartenders did a great job dealing with the busy night while staying polite and cheerful. They have a patio in the back in case you need to step out for a phone call or fresh air. I thought that the prices were very reasonable, especially for the area. I will check this place out again.

Great wine — amazing food. The flatbreads are so good. We tried the one with dates, bacon and goat cheese. Then olives are basic but good and the marinated cucumbers are tasty and something you wouldn’t find somewhere else. Wines were awesome. The cab I could do with out(and isn’t usually my favorite) but the barbera, boarhog, and Merlot were great. We also went home with a bottle of verdelho which was great!

This wine is at best a ‘shrub’: a drinking vinegar to be used to preserve fruits for cocktails in off-seasons. We left half way through our flight, but the bartender didn’t seem to notice anyway. Had I been served this wine in a restaurant, I’d of sent it back as flawed.

A place to enjoy an evening to taste there own in house pressed and barreled wine. The service was fantastic small good pairing food make the perfect fit to the section of wine they sell and to top it off the live music starting at 7:30 If you are with a group a place to start the evening in little Italy

Wine tasting! Flight of 6 :) This place has a very nice jazzy, upscale whole in the wall type of feel. It’s really nice to see a quaint place like this serve up gourmet. We came here seeking a flight of 6 wines to try. We were too full to order a cheese platter, but save room for it because it looked so good! Our bartender for the afternoon told us that the owner puts in time, effort and passion into everything he does. Judging from the cheese platters he was making, I could tell this was true :) So, 6 flights of wine for $ 10. There is nothing to think about! Come in, drink and be merry!

This is my first time at a winery in Little Italy, and I can definitely say it was a great first experience. Live music, cozy atmosphere, and of course the wine is excellent. Our group of six went with the tasting flight of six wines for $ 10 — a fantastic deal for the price and variety. I don’t have a whole lot of experience with wine so this was a great way to expand my palate. We got a cheese platter as well — a great complement to the wine! The service was all right, but could have been better. I’ll expect more next time considering this was Sunday night.

Stumbled upon this place waiting for a dinner reservation. Had no idea this place was here, but glad I found it. Their wine is pretty good and they ferment on site. I didn’t have a chance to try the food, but it looked great as it was going out. They have a great happy hour with amazing prices.

Maybe I’m just used to the wine tastings of Temecula or Napa, but I felt this wine bar was only mediocre. We came on a Monday afternoon with a Groupon(it was for our anniversary, not because we are lushes in the middle of the day haha!) and the place was empty. We were greeted warmly by Todd and Lauren, the two bartenders. We started off with the whites and ended with a heavy red, which was what they had suggested and was a great idea. We also ordered a cheese and meat board, which was the real disappointment. Two of the cheeses were Pamesan and Gouda… delicious cheeses but not something we had ever seen on any cheese platter. The last platter we had ordered was from the Patio, where they have their own cheese cellar, but still… the crackers were a bit stale and we did not have enough salami for the cheese. For 13 dollars, we just expected more. The bartender, Lauren, was personable and didn’t hover. Overall, this was an experience that was good, but not great.

I love this place. It’s sort of unassuming, but it’s a fun place to kick off the night or just come in on a random weeknight for relatively inexpensive dinner and drinks. My wife and I have been frequenting this place for over a year now. The wine club deal has got to be the best in town. The wine itself is varied and excellent. Usually a handful of good beers on tap too. They just changed their food menu, which I have not tried yet, but it looks good. The bartenders(especially Patrick) are great. The live music that comes in on the weekends is usually pretty good. The people that hang out there are diverse and friendly.

5 stars for the ambience, 3 for the wine. The setting in here was super cute for an urban winery. We came on a Friday night while visiting San Diego and they had live music(which I’m always a sucker for). It definitely had a great vibe. We sat at the bar. The service was good, as I would hope for sitting right at the bar! The wine was not the best I have had, not the worst. I also come from the land of Oregon Pinot Noir so I am a little spoiled. We only tried 2 of the wines so some of their other selections may be better. Definitely a cool spot to check out, especially for a girls night out!

10 $ wine tasting. Pick any 6 wines you want to try! They have nice outside area, but we ended up sitting at the bar. Bartender Patric was nice and friendly and explained us little bit about each wine. Try it, you won’t regret. PS: my favorite wine is Pinot Noire

I really loved the space. It’s nice and air– conditioned, they have options to sit on the cute patio, and the bathrooms are really clean… the wine, ehhhhh. I’ve actually been here twice with my husband. I’m the type of person who likes to give things a second chance if I really like the atmosphere, and this place fell flat. Bleh. Pretty much all of the wines were unfiltered and murky. Some had sediment in the bottom, and others were just too sour to even finish. It almost seemed like the wines weren’t made properly. I ended up dumping most of them out. I was shocked at the amount of people that were buying bottles of this stuff. I was not impressed at all and will unfortunately not be back. When we left I had to go to a nice Italian restaurant down the street for a good glass of wine just to get the taste of all the bad wines I just tried out of my mouth. Ick.

I’d like to try this place again. When we were there, it got a little busy and the manager /bartender was swamped running between tables and the bar. They have a great tasting deal, but I have no idea how he kept track of maybe a dozen or more 6-wine tastings. We had a large group, and most people got the tasting, and all started at different spots with different wines. Yikes. Once things died down, the manager had time to come over and chat with us. He even took us over to where they make the wine, explained some of the process, and then the owner came out and chatted with us too. That was sweet. Plus, he told us he made the long table we’d been sitting at and that we were the first large group to use it.

This is my first time wine tasting so my experience with wine is limited. BUT, I do know good down to earth customer service and experience. This place hits the nail on the head. Smaller place with a more intimate feel. I usually wait till I get home to write my review, but this was such a great experience that I’m writing this on the spot, at the location, with a glass in hand. Our server was out of this world. Not being from SD, she told us about the area and simply took the time to get to know us. Really cares about people and knows how to show it. The wine: even though I have little experience with wine, I loved the Boarhog. Seriously, it was great.(There’s a more sophisticated way to describe this wine, but«great» is all I got). Will come back here when I’m in SD

My boyfriend and I came in for their wine tasting option. You get to pick 6 wines(we went with 2 reds, one Rose, and 3 whites). They were very generous with each wine you get to taste. By my fourth one, I was starting to feel it! Anyway, our waitress was very informative and helpful in guiding us as we chose which ones to taste. We also got the cheese platter which came with fruits and an arugula salad. The place itself is really small with just a bar and maybe 4 – 5 tables. The entire experience was very fun and I would definitely come back again for another tasting.

Service is a very high 5 stars, but the wine itself gets a 3… hence the overall rating of a 4. I came in with my boyfriend and redeemed a Groupon voucher for a wine tasting for two, which was an awesome deal(I paid about $ 10 for it). We were able to try six wines from a vast list, and were given quite generous pours. The server was so friendly, and she answered any questions we had. She suggested the best wine we had that night, and gave my boyfriend an extra pour of it when I was drinking a tad slower than he was. The food looked great, but we didn’t try any ourselves. The wine, though, wasn’t fantastic. It wasn’t bad by any means, but nothing really impressed us. I know they change the selection often, and would definitely come back to try others. Also, it was a Sunday at 7 pm and they had live music, which I loved. It wasn’t too loud and was a great accompaniment to the tasting. Nice spot in Little Italy, happy to have it around!

The tasting room is standard and I like all the barrels around. They do wines by the glass and tastings. Tastings run $ 10 for reasonable pours of 6 wines off of a list of about 10 wines. All the selections we saw were from grapes sourced in from northern CA and the central coast. I dunno, I get why they have to do it but it’s sort of a let down in a small sense. Maybe because I’m from the area and lived/worked for years there tasting all the time and was hoping for something different. I know they likely try to work with more local grapes but I just didn’t see it this visit. The wines were below average in our estimation. Does this mean you won’t love them? Nope. Wine like your preference in floss is deeply personal and while I may dislike something with good reason, you may taste the same thing and like it for good reason. Some selections were bad enough that I doubt you would like them but who knows? I take issue with the service. While the man who helped us was nice. He KNEW one of the wines was off. Seriously it tasted as oxidized as a bottle of two buck chuck opened Friday and poured out of desperation on a Monday. Just awful and old. He did nothing to rectify it. Not even offering to let us try a replacement. I used to work pouring wine. Oxidation happens. It isn’t a big deal. What is a big deal is acting like it was acceptable. «Oh well» sort of vibe doesn’t do it for me when it comes to simple things. Anyway I’d try this place again if only to see if they can up their game!
