This is a completely unbiased review. as I do not have a lil Junior in this theater program… I just come for the shows :) While I don’t know what goes on behind stage… I sure can see what happens on stage, and I am completely AMAZED… AMAZEDATTHETALENTPRODUCEDHERE… another farm crop of fantastic talent here in San Diego. Recent spooky encounter on Halloween… The Addams Family… wow… Morticia and Gomez. I swear I thought they were in their 30’s, but all these performers are under 18! Hence the Junior Theater… Wednesday… Pugsley… Fester… wow… the costumes. the lighting… the music… the effects… These little people are so grown up and well spoken, talking with the audience after the production, if you haven’t gone to see a play at The San Diego Junior Theater… GO Now… GO Now…

We saw Harold and the Purple Crayon yesterday. The show was terrible! It was only 30 minutes long and the kids hardly spoke at all. I expected the see the kids acting, not just running around silently on stage. I anticipated the story being hard to turn into a play, but am disappointed to have wasted the time and money.

Great place for kids to hone their acting and singing talents. Tickets priced great for other little kids(like mine) to see their peers perform. It is so cute to see the little girls acting as ushers(they must be all of 10 years old!) and making sure we do not bring food or drinks inside the theater. Snacks are available in the reception area before the show and during intermission. A great way to spend a lazy, summer afternoon in Balboa Park. Make sure you allot time to walk around, sit on a park bench, and enjoy a cool snack!
