San Diego Lions Australian Rules Football Club

When my husband came home one day and announced he was going to start playing Australian Rules Football (aka Footy), I thought one of two things was behind it:
1. He had lost is mind, because last time I checked he had never played a contact sport in his entire life.
2. He was kidding, because… Australian Rules Football… come on! That’s not a thing.
Well I was wrong on both counts. He’s been playing with the Lions for about a year now and absolutely loves it. It is a really unique game that is fun, intense, and challenging. The guys on the team are great mentors and a nice group of guys all around.
When people ask what it is like you might get the following examples:

Quidditch
It’s hard to explain, but if you’ve played sports in the past and are looking to join a local sports club, it is worth checking out the Lions to see if it’s something you’d like to try. New members are welcome to join any time.
