I took Alto sax lessons a few years back with Ian when I was in high school and I was referred to him by one of my music teachers from school. Ian not only helped me hone my technique in playing jazz styles, but also helped me focus my practice on important techniques/​theory such as scales and sight reading. I had been actively playing for several years before taking lessons, and I still feel that I gained a lot from my practice sessions with Ian.

My 12 year old got interested in the Sax in 2012. We bought him an Alto Sax for Christmas that year and began the search for a Sax Teacher. We found Ian through my son’s expressive arts therapist and now for a year Ian has been extremely patient with my son. My son has Asperger’s syndrome (a form of autism) and he is very good working with my special needs son. My son continues to be interested and Ian has been the key to his continued interest and self-​regulation skills. If anyone is interested in learning Sax at any level, Ian is the best.

I’ve been playing saxophone on and off (mostly off and mostly badly) for decades and recently started coming to Ian for lessons. First of all. he’s a great player. which is why and how I found him. But more importantly he has really helped me begin to get a grounding in better technique and playing + some theory. I am really amazed with how much I’ve learned in a relatively short time. Thanks Ian!
