Went here for an Easter egg hunt hosted by the City of San Diego. It was hard to find parking but luckily we found a corner spot across from the park where the festivities were held. We arrived around 10:30 am and they were supposed to start at 11 am but got delayed until almost noon because they were waiting for more kids and families. They had different age categories for the egg hunt. First was the 0 to 2 year old group. Followed by that was the 3 to 5 year old group which my daughter falls under since she is 3 years old. Once they called the 3 to 5 year old group, she was ready to go. The lady mentioned there would be a ticket for an Easter basket in one of the eggs. My daughter was lucky enough to find an egg that had a ticket. I even video taped her on my cell phone. It was a great place to have an Easter egg hunt. There was so much space to move around. We also got to get a picture with the Easter bunny prior to the main event. My daughter had a great time. Awesome event hosted by the nice people who set up the Easter egg hunt. I will be back next year if the have it here again.

I love this recreation center! We come here to play tennis, play at the playground, go kayaking, to have bonfires, and to use the restrooms or park. The restrooms are not pretty. They are very institutional and really need an update. Everything else is nice.

The nicest thing about Santa Clara Recreation Center is the location. It is on a peninsula in Mission Bay. If you work out here, and you want to go for a run, you are already in one of the nicest places in San Diego. You can get a nice bayside run, or cross Mission Blvd. and run ocean front. The equipment itself is so-so. They have pretty much everything you need. It’s bare bones, but good enough. Plenty of free weights, a few machines. They have a list that they are asking members to fill out for new equipment requests. So it looks like they will have some new stuff soon. There are also two basketball courts, and a tennis court. The gym is 18 and over only, but if you have kids and wnat a place to hang out, they have a little playground. These facilities(tennis, b-ball, playground) are available without membership, free of charge. This gym is only $ 12 per month. So if you are not too picky about your gym, need a good location for runs and want to save some dough on the monthly gym budget, Santa Clara Recreation Center is your spot.
