We come and visit these guys every time we come to the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market. They are super nice and friendly. My girlfriend is Indonesian and it’s difficult to find good Indonesian food around so we come to support these guys. Just this last time they made this Roti John for us(they will be happy to tell you the origin of the name) and it was pretty good. Keep it up guys~ Makasih!

I’m a sucker for skewered meats… be it Filipino bbq on a stick, Japanese yakitoris or Thai/Malaysian satays. The brothers managing the business are nice and knows what they are doing. Authentic Malay taste and goods on their menu. Too bad they are only available on Saturday near my area as they are a regular fixture at the Farmers Market in Scripps Ranch. I hope they would check and consider joining the group in Mira Mesa Farmers Market every Tuesday as it brings more larger crowd than in SR. I would he happy to come and see them there w/c is nearer my place.

One of the few vendors who sell authentic Malaysian street food in all of San Diego. Possibly the only one. The guys who run it are from Malaysia and do several farmers markets a week, including the Scripps Ranch farmers market and the Oceanside Farmers market. Their specialty is chicken or beef satay which comes with a delightful peanut sauce on the side. Also, the char kway teow which is pan fried noodles with a mixture of veggies, egg, and you can add shrimp or Chinese sausage, they also make it according to how spicy you like it. They always have at least one vegetarian/vegan option and it seems like they have a few new food items they try out each week, like a curry, or a vegetarian lentil dhal. They have an interesting Malaysian dessert type drink called chendol, which is basically made of mung beans, or ‘green worms’ as one of the guys likes to describe them as, coconut milk, and honey I think. It may sound weird but it’s good and worth a try! Basically its run by two, really friendly Malaysian brothers trying to make an honest living by making delicious food that they grew up eating. Malaysian food is still relatively unknown here in the states and usually gets confused for Thai or Indian cuisine but its very different in terms of the spices they use etc. If you have been wanting to try some delicious and super authentic Malaysian cuisine, or if your just feeling a little adventurous, stop by one of the farmers markets and give them a try. They also do catering too!
