After a late night in PB, I was in the mood for a hot dog — I have been to this place that sells bacon wrapped hot dogs on garnet, but there were too many people in line like always. I found this other hot dog stand called Sausage Bomb, which was set up on the same block(just right across the street from Typhoon Saloon). WOW. I can’t believe I had been going to the other place all this time(I would still always be hungry after eating the bacon wrapped dog) But at Sausage Bomb just for 5 dollars, you get this massive DELICIOUS spicy sausage(they have regular dogs too if that ‘s what you like), loaded with all sorts of delicious toppings such as a spicy cream cheese, and the best homemade relish I have ever had. and the carmelized onions … yumm. Plus they have bacon, and chili to top it off with if you want. On top of all that, the bread is this delicious soft sandwich roll that they guy heats up so it’s warm. I can tell you that I left this place much more full and satisfied than any other of the hot dog carts I had been to before. I will DEF be going here from now on when I’m in PB late at night. BTW this was a Tue night that I went there, but the guy(Gary I think his name is) said that he is set up on weekends too outside Open bar on Mission Blvd, better go check him out there!

AMAZING!!! This man is an absolute genius. I mean, why didn’t I think of putting a hotdog cart outside the Open Bar. About two months ago my wife an I stumbled(literally) out of their and found a line of people waiting for something called a Sausage Bomb. The scene was pretty chaotic so we were about to give up on it, but people kept telling that it was worth the wait. And boy, was it ever!!! This guy cuts open a fresh baguette-style roll, replaces the middle part with gobs of a cream cheese-based aoli that, by itself would’ve kept us coming back, then he plops in a 1/3lb spicy andouille sausage, and then tops it off with heaps of caramelized onions. I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven. The only bad thing I have to say is that he’s only there weekend evenings from like 10pm. We are in our thirties now and don’t typically party late anymore, so it’s hard to catch him. Finally, last Friday night after watching a movie at home we walked up there(8 blocks) in our PJs. Not only did it turn out to be fun, but there were actually two other people there in their pajamas. LOL! Anyway, this is a must and a soon-to-be SD tradition. The Sausage Bomb absolutely rules!!!

When you’re drunk on Pacific Beach, nothing is better than a good ol’ Sausage Bomb. Andouille sausage, cream cheese, and onions on a delicious roll. It’s worth the $ 5 you’ll drunkenly pull out your pocket for this beastly mouth orgasm. The other review here seems to be a bit more specific on what was in this monster, but I assure you, I remember it being a fine representation of high quality street cart food. The guy’s name is Gary, and he told me he wasn’t a big fan of Unilocal, but I hope he see’s this review and feels contented that he’s doing good work! I was pretty liquored up, but I think I remembered him saying he’s at PB on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Don’t hold me to that, but try going on one of those days and try finding him!
