I came here for a relaxer but I can’t remember the name of the stylist that did it. Best $ 80 I have ever spent!(including tip) The salon is very clean and the staff is very professional. I was even offered a glass of wine. Definitely recommend!

I have had many hairdressers over the years but Rebeca truly is like no other! Within moments of sitting in her chair I thought she was an amazing person but when she was done with me I knew she was an amazing hairdresser. If you are half as picky as I am when it comes to your hair go see Rebeca… You will be glad you did!

This place is so unique and Michelle Silva in Studio 17 is the best! After living in San Diego for over a year and a half, I found it high time to find a regular hair stylist. I had been spoiled for years by having an amazing lady named Bonnie in Northern California, but I can’t wait that long between my cuts/color! Since I have trusted Craigslist with many life decisions(seriously) and had good luck finding a free(and legit) hair cut on there once, I scoured the beauty section for hair stylists offering deals. Michelle’s page came up with an array of coupons. I thought, «Hey, I have nothing to loose but some hair and a few bucks!» So I called her up. She responded within less than 2 hours of my message and was super friendly. She had av availability when I needed it so I was stoked. The studio itself is in a kind of business office, but Sola is like an array of stylist pods. Its really cool! Each person has everything they could need in their own little pods. I guess there’s nails and massage there, but I didn’t check them out(but want to!). Michelle was super nice and began by talking through with me what my hair was and what I wanted. She made great suggestions and since I’m pretty easy going, I let her do what she thought was right. She worked quickly and efficiently and I really enjoyed talking to her. And best of all, my cut was AWESOME! I am so happy with it. It is even better than before. She pretty much read my mind: short and funky, but not too weird(I’m a teacher for goodness sake) and easy to style. She razored the back which made my thick hair happy(much lighter in the back) and whatever products she used for sure made my hair very soft and clean. My cut was $ 25 with a blow dry/style with her coupon but her normal prices are very reasonable for a stylist in San Diego. I think I saw she charges about $ 60 for color. She also hooked me up with a bunch of 25% off any service/product cards when I left. I for SURE will be coming back to her. I think I found my regular stylist FINALLY! :) PS: Michelle only accepts cash! Just FYI!

I came to this studio because I saw a Groupon for«Hair by John».(BTW: I love Groupon) The entire studio is in a office building with other business within it like accounting and law firms. The studio portion is a large ‘O’ shape with 26 individual studios for massage, hair and nails. Each studio is rented out by the stylist and is like owning their own salon. My Groupon was for studio 25, Hair by John. John was a very nice Italian guy who has been with the owners of the entire place since before they opened this place. I liked that he listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions as well. But he didn’t do what most stylist do when giving suggestions…“That sounds great but what I think would look better is…”. He incorporated my ideas with his suggestions and was basing it off of what I have done in the past. I really appreciated that. I brought a picture in of what I wanted my bangs to look like and he was cautious with the length. He started out longer than the picture because he wanted to be sure that I was happy with it and said you can take more off but not put some back. What he did was a very simple and basic cut, I don’t think I would go to him for a technical cut. If you want something simple or just a trim I think he would be a good place to go if you have a Groupon. His cuts are normally $ 65 and I think that would be pricey for what he’s offering but the Groupon for $ 33 was right in line. I will be back to check out the other studios and stylists.

Michelle Holper/Hair stylist. She’s really good and super sweet :) I’ve been three times and no disappointments. I got peek a boo highlights each time and I love them. She’s very careful with what she does. She bleached, colored, and glossed my hair. She makes sure the water temperature is nice and makes you feel very comfortable! Just tell her exactly what you want and she’ll be able to do it. Highly recommend!

Michelle Holper is so sweet and genuine! She truly cares about you as a customer and will make sure you are satisfied with your hair. She has her own salon, so it’s all about one on one attention. She makes you feel very comfortable, and chatting with her while doing my hair made it feel like she was an old friend. I had a cut and color and she took off a lot of the weight in my thick hair, gave me nice layers all around, and added some highlights, all for $ 60 for her new year’s promotion. I couldn’t pass that up! She’ll even recommend products for your hair, and research hair tools for you if you’re looking for a new brush or flat iron to buy. I’ve already booked my next appointment with her, in which she takes 20% off for pre-booking. Excellent hairstylist!
