Lost one star! Went there for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t as busy but still crowded. There wasn’t as many workers also but it wasn’t a problem. The only problem we kept having were dirty dishes. BECAREFUL! Always check your dishes before you grab them. Check the tray, plates, spoons, and forks. Even check the soup bowls and ice cream bowl. We had so many issues with dirty dishes that it made our lunch unpleasant. The food was still great. But what’s great food on dirty dishes? Disgusting. There were dirty spoons that were clearly visible. Bowls that weren’t rinsed all the way through. Plates with food still stuck on it from who knows when. If you are going to eat here, just make sure you grab clean utensils and plates. Another downfall, the whole time we were eating which was more than 30 mins, they never served cookies even though they baked a few trays of it already. There were a lot of customers and kids waiting for a chocolate chip cookie but for some reason, the cook never served it. We can see that they were done being baked, but still in the cookie tray. That was a bit disappointing. To smell fresh baked cookies, but can’t have any is a tease.

My daughter can not get enough! If she could she would eat only one meal start at 9 for brunch and end at 9 for dinner. We can’t say enough good things about Souplantation, from the food, of course to the cleanliness of the establishment. From the frindley and professional staff(behind the counters and on the floor) to their amazing GM Tammy. I must say that Tammy is one of a kind and should I have an eating establishment I would love to have her manage it for me. Well done Souplantation.

The guy was too busy flirting with us and charged me twice when I was alone clearly. He rang each of my three friends and I up separately, obviously I didn’t need to pay for Casper too.

My last few visits here with friends and family have been stellar! Amazing service, great food theme change every month. New soups I am a huge fan of and even hit the Sunday brunch a couple times and that is outstanding in its own right. At just $ 8 from 9−11am it’s got to be one of the best values in town for AYCE made from scratch brunch fare.

Soup plantation: 3⁄5 For what you pay, this place is very affordable. Some of the salad options were delicious. However, don’t be fool and think this place is super healthy. It is a buffet after all. Control yourself ;).(That’s what I was telling myself the whole time I was there.)

I’ve been eating at Souplantations & Sweet Tomatoes everywhere I go since 2001. My family loves it and it’s their 1st choice when we eat out, especially since we all favor different foods. Being familiar with healthy fresh food, I can honestly say there is no competition in America. I’m grateful the menu items change so frequently to keep us interested and coming back again and again, curious as to sample the recipes and expand our cultural taste buds. Point Loma is by far my favorite location.

I was disappointed tonight about the atmosphere. Our table was not bussed at all while I was there, I bussed myself putting trays, bowls & plates at an empty table. My seat was torn with the stuffing coming out. I looked around and noticed many other seats torn — how tacky! This restaurant has a lot of business, what is the reason for tacky, torn seating? !?! I left no tip for the busser, unfortunate.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here… For the first time in over a year the nice cashier suggested I become a club member… This was the first time it was ever offered to me!!! I love the chicken noodle soup and the bread… It’s a nice somewhat healthier meal to have at lunch… One of the waitresses always remembers me and is always smiling and friendly The restaurant is always clean and the community table is my fav place to sit

My last visit was to pick up a salad for a holiday dinner and didn’t involve dining in, so I finally made it back for a nostalgic, walk-the-line, pile it on and try every item offered meal. Well, I’m happy to report that everything is just as I remember aside from a few cosmetic tweeks and some minor menu changes. The salad bar itself is the same as it has been for years and I know that you’re all dying to know about that damn broccoli salad thing? Yeah, still the same — a little sweet, a bit al dente and certainly terrible for you. The hot bar has had a bit of a transformation though. It still does have all of the classics like the clam chowder, the chicken noodle soup and the chili, but there must have been six or seven total options on the line. There are still baked potatoes and that oddly delicious non-pizza, pizza, along with the famous cornbread, which I didn’t bother with at all. Aside from the nifty new soda machines, a little décor change and a heftier price tag, your 18 year old self will feel right at home.

I used to enjoy coming to this location before, but the last 2 times have been a total dissapointment. The time before today, the person in charge of getting dirty dishes out of your way on your table, kept passing by time and time again just staring at our empty stacks of dishes and soup bowls but proceeded to pick up everyone else’s dirty dished except for ours. The table to our left, the table in front of us, and the table behind us all got the same person to pick up their dishes but we were left to keep piling and piling ours. The place was not busy either so I was confused as to why we were treated as so. Fast forward an hour and 10 minutes later, we left and no one EVER passed by to our table. Today, same thing. The guy in our area who was cleaning tables, did not come to ours the entire night. This time however, he also did not go to ANY table around us who had people still eating, he was only focused on clearing off tables of those people who had left to be able to seat more people. I get it, If they’re busy they’re trying to clean tables to seat people, but after everyone is sat I would assume someone at least would pass by once or twice. Half way through our salad, a group of about 30 – 40 high school students came in, now this is when everything went downhill. As the first few paid, instead of going to pick a table to sit in and then go back to get more food, they started making a line to get soup and go down the different items in order. So there was a continuous line if about 20 kids from the cash register to the soups with trays and salads in hand. So there I go trying to get some chicken noodle soup and had to join this 20+ people line. As I started to get close to the soup, more people from their party decided to join the line where the first people were, making me wait for about 10+ more people to get their soup before me. This is ridiculous. Someone from souplantation should have been there controlling this and making sure everyone was moving quickly and efficiently. Fast forward 20+ minutes later and I finally got my soup. May I add, my gf saw me and line and when she approached me to see what was happening, she told someone from souplantation who then told another and then absolutely nothing was done about the situation. Later when it was time for ice cream, again a blob of about 20 kids surrounded the ice cream area and I got behind the last in line for my ice cream. Again, more kids kept coming over and joining their friends who were already in line making the wait extremely long. I gave up and sat down and waited for the mob of kids to go down. The«service» I received the last 2 times was totally unacceptable. I might have to go to the other locations from now on.

I’ve been to many a Souplantation over the years, and decided to try this location when I was picking up some friends in San Diego since it was close to where they were living. These three friends were medical students from Taiwan doing a rotation in UCSD, so I decided that Souplantation would be a great place to show them that was tasty, healthy, and not overly expensive. This particular location is nicely decorated but smaller than some other locations I have eaten at. I also noticed that there was no section with fruit, jello, cottage cheese, pudding, etc. that I usually see at other places. This location had Arnold Palmer as a beverage choice plus a Coca-Cola drink machine(the kind with the digital screen that you have to select your beverage and a single dispensing spout), which was more unique. Other than that, the offerings at the salad bar, soup, and pasta/bread areas were pretty standard. Some of the items were not quite as fresh as my all-time favorite location, Tustin(my hometown). Overall, a great meal that I have come to expect from one of my favorite chains. Reliable service/food at affordable prices! P. S. My favorite items are the tuna tarragon pasta salad, chicken noodle soup, strawberry lemonade, and blueberry mufins! Also, I recommend joining their free«Club Veg;» as a member I get coupons all the time and came with a coupon this time.

Depending on the time of the year, I’m a staunch carnivore, or a liberal herbivore. Today I was willing to give in to my lovely wife’s desire to detox with a salad. Man I tell ya that even a meat man can find something they enjoy eating here. How it’s possible to have an AYCE meal for $ 8.99 with a drink, I don’t know, but I don’t care. Make absolutely sure you’ve signed up for their newsletter to get those discount coupons though, because otherwise I’d say the price isn’t quite worth it. Little known hints? They switch the options up every few weeks so it’s not exactly the same every time you go. The strawberry lemonade is a must. The baked potatoes are always overlooked and so delicious. You can actually add a protein(steak or chicken) to your salad for an extra $.

first time ever trying a souplantation and I was more impressed than I thought I would be. the salad bar was impressive; with a few prepared salads and tons of fresh veggie options to build your own beautiful salad. the prepared Asiago Ceasar salad was delicious… quite possibly one of the best Ceasars that I have had. I was also impressed by the homemade dressings that they offer and the wide variety of salad fixings. salad bar alone gets a 5 star, except that there aren’t any protein options. I get that it is known to be a great spot for vegetarians but I would have liked some chicken on my salad! soup station offered about 8 soup options including the chicken pot pie stew which was very good, a chili, the chicken noodle, an okay clam chowder, a broccoli cheddar, French onion, and a few others that I can’t remember. the salad bar was more impressive. they had a great baked potato bar with all the toppings, a few garlic bread options, and a few pasta options. the Alfredo was insanely bland… it wasn’t even worth wasting calories on unfortunately. macaroni and cheese was also flavorless. again, the salad bar was the winner.

This Souplantation has large indoor and small patio seating areas. We like Souplantation food, but the employees and service at this location could be a lot better. Perhaps they’re hit or miss, but this visit was definitely a miss. There were several tables left unclear of left over food and dishes and it took the staff a while to clear them up. Several of their«clean» utensils and plates had dried up food remnants left on them. And, there were several flies flying around the freshly baked goods. Overlooking the dirty utensils/plates and flies, the food at Souplantation is always good. Healthy food that can get you full without leaving you feeling too guilty. There are pre-made salads or you can build your own. Salads such as pasta and potato salad are also available. There are a variety of soups to choose from. They also have baked potatoes, a few pasta selections, freshly baked bread, and desserts such as muffins, cake, and soft serve. Depending on upcoming holidays or seasons, they will have associated food items available. We’ll be back here, only because we’re in the area quite often, but wish they’d do something about their cleanliness. Improving cleanliness would help with bumping up their rating. As a tip, register your email with Club Veg so you can get coupons!

I feel that this is the best Souplanation in San Diego. The layout is great, the refreshments are some of the best options available, and there was a flow to the dining room design that made it easy for everyone to grab the food they wanted. I do enjoy the Souplanations up in North County, but that was before I came to this location. I’ll definitely be adding the West Point Loma location on my post SeaWorld dinner rotation. — Yes, they even have a jug of Arnald Palmer! — Yes, the even have three types of premium Iced Tea. What really bugged me… All the flies and gnats.

I love me some Souplantation. Stopped by after a work meeting. I feel like no matter what Souplantation I go to, the parking lot is never big enough to fully sustain the amount of people Souplantation can serve at one time. The Souplantation here is well kept and a very traditional. If you’ve been to the Souplantation in Del Mar, theirs is far from the traditional Souplantation and fits the Del Mar upscale feel. The food here is a delicious and everything was clean. The only thing I was sad about was that there were no peanuts for the ice cream, only granola. I love the concept of this place — a healthy all you can eat buffet with a few guilty items. It is affordable. The selection is decent if you don’t mind the glaring lack of meat. My only problem with this location was the general upkeep and the smell. The place looked a bit beat up. And the whole place had that old stale unappetizing bar smell to it. I know this place gets a lot of traffic, but there has to be something someone can do to fix the smell. Mind you, you do get used to it after being there a while.

Date of visit: 6÷27÷2015 Ask any of my friends and they’ll tell you I’m a huge fan of Souplantation. Although these aren’t the most appetizing descriptors, I love the soggy caesar salad croutons with my lettuce and the simple chicken noodle soup that has nothing in it but broth, chicken, and noodles. Yes, I know it sounds insane, but I think it’s because I grew up going to Souplantation and it’s something of a comfort food for me. This Souplantation is the closest one to our house that is also close to other stores that we need to run errands at(i.e. Target and Home Depot), so it is usually the one we go to. The parking lot is a little weird, so it’s easier to park farther away as the traffic can get congested. This also depends on the time of day you go. I really like that Souplantation also has a To Go option as it’s pretty convenient for Cam and I to get a large meal that’s enough for the both of us. We usually get the salad, large soup, bakery bag, and drink, which comes out to about $ 16. This is what we got on Saturday while trying to get a bunch of other errands done outside and at home. The best think about Souplantation is that it tastes the same wherever you go. Caesar Salad. Since the premixed salads are usually over dressed, I mix the caesar salad with spring mix to get it more balanced. I also add green peas and sunflower seeds, which add a nice contrast to the typical salad. Bug Chunk Chicken Noodle Soup. This would be the perfect soup if there were no chicken chunks. I know, call me crazy, but the chicken chunks are over boiled and rubbery to me, so I really only enjoy the noodles and broth. It’s still one of my favorite soups of all time. Baked Potato. I had my baked potato with some honey whipped butter, which was great. The potatoes are usually cooked in foil, so the skin was not crispy like homemade baked potatoes, but it was a nice addition to our meal. Garlic Focaccia. I thought that my focaccia was great, except that it was a little more oily than usual. The bakery bag helped blot some of the oil off, and it went great with my salad. Cornbread. This is Cam’s favorite bakery item. He really likes that there are actual kernels of corn in the bread and that it is not too sweet. Overall, I am a fan of Souplantation and definitely use their To Go option a lot since it’s a great value for the amount of food you get.
