Stay Classy Tailgate

I was gonna give it 2* but I gave it three and only b/​c its a pretty good deal. For $ 15 you get a ticket to the concert series and a ticket tot he padre game not too bad. Only thing I would have like to have seen more of are booths. They only had a few booths selling jewelry, etc. Some food booths would have been great. The only band I really enjoyed was Cage the Elephant this year. It was my first stay classy tailgate party and I told my self, «Meh…I’ve experienced better». But I give three stars for the deal.

Man. I got to the event at 1 to watch 40 oz to Freedom. They wouldn’t let dogs in. We had our dog. Had to drive home and drop him off. Got back to downtown, baby got hungry. Went to Subway, and brought the food back to eat while listening. Wouldn’t allow food in. Stood on the sidewalk and ate. Finally went in. 40 oz is done playing. Walked the 1 (!!!) block of the event, with a band on each end. Kickass music, but I had a 3 yr old with me, so I couldn’t even get into the beer garden, which is where all the action was at. So, we settled for sitting on the patio of Café Noir while our baby slept, and drank $ 2 beers for a while. We were close enough to still hear the music, which was cool. Finally, we set ourselves up with a kickass spot in front of the stage to watch the Flobots! They started half an hour late, and when they did, my child freaked out and said it was «scary». After giving up our kickass spot and finding a spot on the outskirts next to a girl wearing duct tape suspenders, we were happy for the remainder of the concert. Awesome band. The awesomeness of finally seeing them live somehow eclipses the rest of my shitty day.
I am hoping that as Stay Classy grows, the tailgate venue will also.
Oh, and the «obstructed view» tickets? We gave them to a bum. We had enough «fun» for one day.

Proops to the Stay Classy organization. We got there just in time to see Knee highs, man this guys are awesome. I had to keep drinking cuz it was hot (couldn’t find a shade to watch the band at the same time.) Sad to say I didn’t get to see all the band cuz the girls wanted to go check Tilited kilt. drunk more beer. Got to see the Pads (too bad they didn’t win) and drink more beers. Checked out fleetwood after the game and met up with more of my peeps. more beers… somehow we ended up at theGLT (Gas Lamp Tavern). more beer.
The funny thing was, at the end… i’m was more sober than everybody else. Lol…

I had a great time. Got there at 1ish to check out 40oz to Freedom. Then we went back home to drink some beers that didn’t cost 8 dollars. We got back just in time to get a great spot for Flobots. Thanks for the tickets Ruggy.
