Stile Salon

After a quick review on Unilocal I decided to give this salon a try. Leslie did a fantastic job with my haircut. My layers were choppy and she cleaned them up with ease. I feel fabulous & will be back again. Thanks Leslie!

Laura is amazing… gifted, creative and kind-​I have been going to her for over 10 plus years– and would have quick layovers between travel and stayed in San Diego just to see her. She is as talented as any stylist I have ever gone too-​in fact the first one who ever got my very difficult to lighten hair lighter and difficult to cover grey covered… I am low maintenance but have high standards for color and cut-​and she has never ever disappointed me! She is phenomenally talented yet down to earth and welcoming. She is a person who strives to get it right… and is always concerned with my satisfaction even after ten years… we are lucky to have her in SD…

Leslie cole is my fairy godmother for hair… she is the best!!! Did highlights and a cut… couldn’t be happier..

Stile is packed with style — if you’re looking for an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere while getting a fantastic color, cut, or style then this is your place!
I followed Leslie here from another salon — as I walked in I instantly fell in love with the exposed brick and clean lines with a little bit of European flair. I already knew I loved Leslie, so of course this was my first impression. It’s a small salon in Little Italy, which I personally prefer to the giant spaces with every booth full.
As for Leslie — I’m so grateful for her work on my thin & sometimes unruly European hair. With Leslie’s touch I’m finally inching away at the length I’ve wanted. The color work she does on me is beautiful and I constantly get compliments. She also stays flexible with my ever-​changing desires since I like to change my color slightly to be more warm or light depending on each season. I had to get my hair done by another stylist for a wedding I was in, and even she was complimenting the color and health of my hair — saying it was a treat to get to play with hair like mine. Now that’s a compliment — to Leslie’s work. My highlights look amazing in updoes, ponytails, etc. and I have Leslie to thank for that! And let’s not forget Leslie’s head/​neck massage when shampooing your hair is absolutely sublime… it’s worth it for that alone!
Most fear the parking situation when they think of Little Italy, but they are actually in a great spot with a ton of non-​metered, metered and paid lot parking around. Just bring your quarters to be safe if coming before 6pm and during a peak hour. I had no trouble at all parking right across the street from the salon so don’t let this deter you.
Looking forward to more appointments… perhaps I’ll have to think of an excuse to get my hair styled so I can go back sooner… :)

They sent me a letter, offering a free consultation and haircut because I recently moved to the neighborhood. I made an appointment actually more to get some consultation and maybe a trim. I got stuck behind the train and I saw this lady left me a VM. I called immediately after it was only 10 mins after my appt time. The lady told me that it is already been 15 min and argued about the time while I was checking the exact time on my phone. Anyways she said that she’d wait for 5 more mins only because she wants to go!!!
I got there and she sit me and she didn’t even spent any time for consultation. I told her to just trim my hair and then I saw she started straightening my hair! I asked if she always cut hair dry, and she said no normally I cut the hair wet, but we don’t have time now, so I just straighten it and then cut it!!! And there was no other customers or anyone waiting. I told the lady that it’s ok if she is in hurry I can make another appointment. But she said that she won’t make any free appointments again!
It was very interesting that this salon sends mails to give them a try, and in return you get such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I won’t trust them with my hair at all.

I found Stile after a lengthy search for a new salon that has expertise in extensions, specifically HotHeads. I am so impressed with Emily. She is professional, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable about hair, the negative effects that extensions can produce, along with ideas and techniques for improving the quality of one’s hair. Her process is efficient, and the results are fantastic, not to mention very agreeable pricing. I feel extremely fortunate to have found Stile, and specifically Emily. Thank you, thank you!

Emily is great. Young, down to earth, fun to talk to, knowledgeable. Knows what will and won’t look good, great consultation. I love my hair cut, very reasonably priced, I for sure will be coming back here.

I have been seeing Laura for over 20 years! She is incredible at what she does and is always looking to improve and learn new things. There is a reason why she has been able to own and sustain 2 businesses in San Diego and Newport Beach… Because she is current and will make you feel like a million bucks! You will love her and the way you look when you leave her salon!

Laura and Emily are terrific! I have very hard hair to cut and style properly and they do a terrific job. Laura is incredible with color and with styling. I drive a LONG way to get my hair done by her.

Emily is a great stylist! She listens closely to what you want and carries it out beautifully. I have very dark hair and wanted to add some highlights – something that could easily look tacky. Emily used the balayage technique which she recommended would give me the most natural look. I got it done almost a year ago and have been going back ever since for touch ups. Emily is very friendly and knows her stuff; I highly recommend this salon!

Solid Salon that will work hard to get you the results you want.
I saw that I could walk over to this Salon and with Camilla the Unilocaling Hen getting starting to cluck about my roots and that it looked like they «took a dirt bath» I decided I was in need of a blonde refreshing.
Very professional. Root touch up with Blowout will cost you $ 90 before tip. They do have an option for $ 65 you can get a root touch up with no blow dry. Which is really nice for those who are watching their budgets and can forgo the style.
My roots turned out kinda yellow orange for my taste so I called and I was invited back to get them toned. They were really nice working with me on the best time for me and really warm about it. Stile just wants you to achieve the look you want.
Once I got my roots toned I was happy!

I just wanted to write a note of appreciation to Emily. I was in San Diego for a friend’s wedding, and had 2.5 hours between the time I landed to the time of the ceremony. I left the rental car place b/​c the line was 100 people long (Labor Day weekend), and literally started walking around the airport and ended up at Stile unannouced. Emily took me in and did my hair and makeup beautifully. She also gave me some brownies since I had to skip lunch. Thank you thank you!

Kandis is so good at what she does! Kandis creates the most amazing blonde color that is just perfect for me! She is truly a hair genius!
She did my hair on my wedding day, and it was exactly what I wanted!
Plus Stile is such a cute little salon with high ceilings and amazing light coming in. It’s just a great place to sit while Kandis works her magic.
Kandis is so sweet and makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I would without a doubt recommend her to any of my friends and family.

I’ll always give Amber 5 stars. I have had my hair done by her a few times, and it gets better every time. Sure hope to see her again soon…

Amber Gimbel is an outrageously talented stylist — a talentedjewel in the San Diego world of beauty. I leave her chair with a clean new cut, and flawless color every time. I’m serious — CALL HER next time you’re due! You’ll be happy you did, and you’ll leave feeling glamorous with a totally up to date — but NEVER over-​the-​top –‘do! :)
