I stopped in here for the first time with the kids just to refill my growler. I think I got lucky with the parking. Monster trucks was getting ready to kick off next door. It wasn’t to crowded when we showed up. I waited a couple of minutes and then was promptly helped with my selection. I sampled 4 beers and then choose the stone milk stout. Rich deep flavors, no bitterness, just good. I noticed that they have some games and a very nice casual lounge area that seemed very kid friendly. Yes, kid friendly. My kids played with some other kids and their parents while I refilled my growler. There was a great selection of beers to chose from and this looks like a good pregame spot

So glad I stopped by for a few samples. The space at Stone is great, the people are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They have tons of different Stone brews on tap, from the ones you know to the ones you’ll never see outside of the brewery/restaurant/tap room. You can do 4 oz samples, or full size beers. I ended up doing the 4 oz. samples and this was perfect, allowing me to try several different kinds. All were good, and a couple were fantastic, but it all depends on what you like. Would certainly return to try some new brews!

Great for Beer! A little disappointed with food both selection and execution, left me wanting more. Honestly, go here for Beer, great selection, knowledgeable friendly bar tenders, and a mini case full of Stone bombers to go. Location is pretty cool too.

This place suffers from the highs and lows of event driven places — namely baseball. When there’s a game on, it’s a fun and convenient location. But when there’s no game-related crowds, it’s usually pretty dead. Otherwise, if you want a downtown beer experience, it’s better to hit an actually downtown brewer like Mission or a bar that has a wider selection of regional brewers.

completely stumbled upon this on my way to the airport lol. it’s pretty hip ya’ll. great décor/atmosphere, cool people behind the counter, nice seating. great to bring a group here and try out some beers. i also just love love love how much cheaper beer is straight from the source. tried the oaked arrogant bastard ale and the coffee milk stout. enjoyed the milk stout more(tbh i’m not a fan of ales all that much) though i bet it’d be way more bomb if it was over nitro ayeeeee. i’d say it’s worth trying the oaked ale, but tbh i didnt get that casket flavor as much with other oaked beers i’ve had. overall cant complain. great craft beer, on point brewery prices, awesome atmosphere and pretty nice location :)

I’m a big fan of this tiny and intimate location of Stone. I’m used to visiting the world bistro and Liberty Station location, so this was a much different experience. It’s a cool scene. I almost feel like it has a slightly speakeasy vibe, but then it’s got a huge spray painted type art wall(think slightly banksy esque). Located adjacent to Fairweather/Rare Form, it’s easy to confuse the two. However, it’s perfect in its proximity to Petco Park. During my trip to the Tap Room, I had a really good mint chocolate stout on nitro. It was very unique, but I really enjoyed the subtle hint of mint. It wasn’t too over powering. It was just right. You can hop between here and Fairweather if you’re looking to grab a few drinks and pass the time with friends. This location has a cool vibe with some great artwork on one of the walls. I’d definitely suggest coming here, especially during baseball season(or the off season if you’re into avoiding crowds).

Amazing service and great beer. My girlfriends and I were in town for business and we found Stone Brewing and were very excited to check it out. The guys working the bar Neil & Max made our experience a very memorable one! The treated us like gems! We ordered 2 flat bread pizzas and they were wonderful! The beers were all delicious and all 5 of us enjoyed every single one we had. Thank you Neil & Max for making our trip to San Diego special! We can’t wait to come visit you again!

Went here with a group of girls for a bachelorette party. I made reservations a week ahead of time for a party of 11 or so. The manager was super accommodating and sat our party over by the live band! It was a blast to dance right after our dinner. Everyone orders and pays at the bar and they’ll come by to serve you. This was nice because we didn’t have to worry about splitting the bill at the end. I’ve had their beers before which are delicious but we all had flat breads for dinner. Every single one was so yummy! Thank you Stone for a great night!

This is a pretty great place to try some Stone beers. This is also one of the few places in the Gaslamp that is actually dedicated to the beer. There is a pretty good selection of rarer Stone brews that you can try in additional to all the regular stuff. The staff are friendly and engaging and are totally willing to talk beer if you are. They had multiple Enjoy By and collaboration beers. Stone has pretty perfected the West Coast IPA, so it’s definitely worth stopping by.

As always, Stone beer is delicious. We came here after going to a Padre game a few weeks back. It was my cousin from Jersey, his girlfriend, and Mr. Booth. Unfortunately I became pretty sloppy for the rest of the night after the trip to Stone. Those 10% IPAs can really sneak up on you. :-o The location is awesome, the scene is cool, and the beers are perfect. If you are in the area, or attending a game, go check it out!

For our last night in San Diego, we knew we had to check out Stone’s taproom. We were disappointed that we didn’t have time to visit Stone’s brewery during our trip to Cali, but we were just as excited to check out the taproom. It is located in the beginning of Gaslamp and is literally attached to Petco park. We came on a Saturday night and surprisingly, they weren’t super busy like I was expecting. They have live music, a jazz band, which was INCREDIBLE. I really enjoyed hanging out at the bar and listening to their band. They had Stone memorabilia and we left with two Stone t-shirts and glassware as well. The décor in this taproom is incredible. Chandeliers made of glass bottles, the stone«demon» emblem was everywhere and they had a wall of macro brewery cans with a sign saying, «We don’t make beer that tastes anything like these». They had a food menu and if we weren’t already stuffed, I would have loved to have had the chance to try something. I have had many Stone IPA’s in the past. Their IPA’s usually are intimidating and really have a punch to them. I wanted to try something different and knew I had to try the«Stone Cali-Belqique IPA»… fruity IPA’s are my favorite. It was AWESOME. The banana and clove flavors were really present with a nice ending of hops on the palette. Yum. My boyfriend tried«Stone Smoked Porter» which was really good as well. It had the chocolate complexity of a good porter with a smoky finish. This place is awesome and I am so jealous that San Diegans have this place right outside of their ballpark!

STONETAPROOM is a cool little addition to the Gaslamp/Petco Park area of downtown. We stopped by the Tap Room before the Giants/Pads game last week and had a couple of beers. Though I didn’t eat their food, the items looked tasty enough. I had two RuinTen’s(10.8% triple ipa) and was on my way. No frills, but great beer and a sweet location. 4.25 stars!

I love that you can get craft beer right by Petco Park. They usually have all of Stone’s current beers on Tap and bottles. I’m a huge IPA drinker, so its nice to be able to get a pour of an Enjoy By or Ruination 2.0. Sure their prices are high, but its good craft beer, you should already know what you’re getting yourself into. I didn’t try any of the food they serve, so not much here to expect. It does get crowded here and seating is limited, so its more of a nice place to stop by and get a drink before the game starts. They do have some board games and card games to play if you want to hang out. They share the area with Rare Form and Fairweather, so if you want to grab a bite of switch over to a cocktail, they’re all in the same place. Overall, I’d come back to get more beer. I wouldn’t say its a hangout spot, but you can always be sure to get a solid beer here, especially if you’re an IPA drinker.

Liquid diet. Bar crawl. Pretty chill brewery. Next to ballpark. Small food menu. They have some merchandise on a stand and behind the bar. Smaller more intimate bar. Food: bbq duck flatbread very good. Unique flavors. 5 stars Cheese brat flatbread also amazing 5 stars.

I’ll echo everybody else’s sentiments. It’s got a great location, right next to Petco. It’s got your usual Stone beers, plus a really good variety. We found something for everyone in our group there(including habanero-aged wine!). The inside is really beautiful and service is friendly. We ended up having a beer and going somewhere else to eat simply because of the noise of the place.

Ohhhhh-kay. So, I finally abandoned the comforts of Rare Form and Fairweather for a little taste of what Stone is serving up in East Village. Well, there is a lot of beer here, some good, some bad, none of it knocked my knickers off. In fact, I think the 24 carat collaboration was one of the worst smelling beers that has ever graced a glass. The flavor, not as bad as the smell but certainly not playing in the same league as most Stone collaborations. The real kicker for me was the poor service and the lack of staff. It was 6:30pm with the Padres playing at 7:00pm just over the fence. You think maybe, just maybe you’ll get some business from that? I know you’re turning into an enormous monster, Stone, but don’t lose sight of the small things like basic customer service.

Stone is a great place to pregame before heading to a Padres game. I love stone beer and this bar has games to play as well. I’ve come in for dinner and the food is actually pretty good. They have several different flatbreads which are quite tasty. Be prepared for it to be busy if it’s before a Padres game especially if it’s a weekend. It doesn’t get too busy here if it’s the off season or during the week. One of my favorite beers is the Arrogant Bastard. Several of the beers can be ordered in 4 oz if you just want to try it before committing to an 8oz pour. If you really like the beer they have growlers for sale as well. It really depends on the bartender, but some will give you an actual sample versus making you pay for the 4 oz «taster».

My wife and I were walking around downtown San Diego and just happened to run by the best brewery around and their tap room near PetCo Park. We entered and there were about 20 beers on tap and I decided to go for the What Do you Think of My Hops beer. A solid IPA, AMAZING. The bartender was pretty cool and the décor is slick inside. Pretty rustic. They also have a beer fridge full of Stone. Score. I loved that it is right by the ball park. If it were baseball season, I would be here for sure. Awesome beer in and awesome bar! So many great options!

So this is where all the vampires come to drink beer. Stone Brewing Tap Room makes me feel like I’m in a 19th century, gothic cellar. The walls are decorated with what looks like reclaimed(rusty) metal walls. The bar also has this huge metal cut-out of gargoyle, lit up with a red light. The chandeliers even look like they came from some sort of caste dungeon. Nonetheless, I love that they went all out with the theme. Definitely stands out from all the other breweries in the area. Another thing that stood out for me is that they had a lot more IPA selections than other breweries I’ve visited. So if you’re a fan of IPA, this is the place to go. I went with the Japanese Green Tea IPA. It was good, but I couldn’t taste the green tea flavor until I reach the bottom of the glass– it seemed to all sink to the bottom. They serve food here as well. I’ve seen some people order pizza flatbreads which looked promising.

I want to compare it to every other tasting room Stone has but I have decided to just pretend that they don’t exist in order to give this location it’s fair shake. Nestled on the outside of the ballpark one could easily pass by without realizing the treasures that lay only footsteps away. Name a better treasure than good beer! The inside is small but has a large bar area where you can belly up to try samples or full glasses off the huge number of beers on tap. Seriously it is difficult to choose which ones to drink! Beer tastes are personal, much like the 18 inches of space Americans require from one another to feel comfortable. So I can only promise you that it is highly unlikely you will walk away from here not enjoying anything. The beers span so many tastes and styles. They are great quality and poured by knowledgable staff. I haven’t tried the food yet but that day may never come. After all, I need all the tummy room for beer!
