Great concept executed correctly. The food is delicious and is priced just right. I left feeling like I got good value out of my money. I had the Strozzi burger, which is made with their house made sausage. The best way to describe it is that it tasted like a delicious Italian sausage cheese steak. It comes with caramelized onions and green pepper and a good amount of cheese. We also had a pasta dish with one HUGE sausage made from the same meat as the burger patty. So good. Overall a great experience with fantastic service and excellent food. The space was clean, cozy, and cool looking.

Off the cuff, my office mate and I stopped by Strozzi before a meeting. We were taken aback at the friendliness of the staff, the family owned love that was glaring in the descriptions of the menu choices. I asked the friendly hostess/server to name the best dishes in her opinion and took her suggestion, the Strozzi Burger. Geez, Louise! That burger was delectable. The salad was colorful and delicious; the single olive was a satisfying, buttery delight! We ordered dessert to go, and my family lost it over the crazy decadent brownie and the mini lemon bites. The prices were fair. The food is fresh and creative. The service was personable as well as delightful. I truly enjoyed my first trip to Strozzi, and I am positive I’ll be back at least twice a month from now on. I’ve got to get that Strozzi Burger again! And, I need to try the soup!

I guess the person that said the reviews were filled with friends and family was right. I work down the street from this place and wanted a place I could visit often but after my visit today I don’t think that will happen. I called in my order since I am limited on time and I still had to wait. The burger was nothing special at all. It was over cooked and you could tell they cooked it with water since the patty was falling apart and the bun was soaked. The salad wasn’t all that great either. It only took me 2 minutes to get to work and eat. I think the prices are a little too steep as well. Maybe the Italian food is better but it will be a while until I try it again.

This has become a lunch time ritual! The food is amazing. They make their own Italian sausage! They take said Sausage and say«screw it, make it a burger patty!» The Italian Pulled Pork is the the bomb. They always have 4 local beers on tap and many more bottled. Get the lemon bites too, it taste like heaven.

Stopped there for lunch a few times after golf in Coronado and the food is fabulous. Everything is home made. A family owns it and it is all of their family recipes. The place is small but clean and modern décor. The menu is varied and everything we have had is great. If you find yourself in the area at lunch time, stop in.

Good lasagne. It isn’t earth shattering but it’s quite good for eleven dollars. I would be pleased with that dish in a much fancier and expensive restaurant.

Damn you Unilocal! Why don’t you have a 10 star rating because this spot would deserve it! Oh well they will get the ultimate 5 for now because let’s keep it real they are the bomb! Things I have had to eat here so far Torpedo Chicken Parm Pasta Lasagna Cookies and banana cake Every single item has been amazing from the creamy ricota cheese in the lasagna to the fresh pasta and sauce to the amazing dressing and meats on the torpedo! My father was out here visiting and had the Strozzi Burger. He went back home to South Carolina a month ago and is still raving about the burger! A burger made out of italian sausage with grilled peppers and onions and cheese? Yes please! The cookies and banana cake don’t even get me going! That oatmeal cookie should be illegal for as good as it is! The cream cheese frosting on the banana cake best I have had and rivals any other restaurant or bakery! They have the food but do they have the service you are asking yourself? Hmmmmm well I can happily say that Jessica will take great care of you with her smile and great personality! She will make sure your meal is top notch! Give these guys a chance and support a great local business!!! And for those of you scared of Barrio Logan don’t be :) If my 4 year old son can roll down there with me I am sure you will all be fine! It’s a great area with amazing businesses like Strozzi! Drive down and give Strozzi your business… you won’t regret it!

Well here’s the deal– the food is very good. BUT there must be some inflated reviews by employees and friends to skew the 4.5 star rating. The lasagna was exceptional– the best I’ve had. But I also live next to Salvatore’s with linens, silverware, waiters, and a HARPIST. Salvatore’s charges $ 16 for their lasagna. Strozzi charges $ 11 in a foil container down in the ghetto with flies buzzing in the entryway. For a very similar«dining experience» you can pay 7 or 8 bucks at Pizzeria Luigi and it’ll be almost as good. The reason I’d go to Luigi is because I ordered at Strozzi at 11:52 a.m. with two people in the place and got my order at 12:17. OK, I get it. I you want to get an order to go you’d better call it in… like, two days ahead.

I started with the Italian Crafted wings, Italian style seasoning, salt and pepper, champagne vinaigrette. The dusted Romano cheese kicks that wings from good to something special. I ordered a small Antipasto Salad, but it was big enough for two. It contained fresh provolone, mortadella, pepperoni, capricola, salami, black forest ham even castel vetrano olives(Sicilian olives, lightly brined green olives with a mild flavor) and, buttery Lupini beans. The salad could have been a meal in its self. The house special is their Hot Italian Sausage Sub. They grill the onions and bell peppers then melt provolone over the sausage and serve it on toasted Italian roll. This place makes their own sausages and you can taste the difference. You can even get four handmade links to take home. I look forward to coming back and ordering the made daily, fettuccini pasta with the house sausage. I finished my meal with oatmeal, golden raisin cookies that were worth the trip alone. Service was fantastic. Jessica and Erica and knowledgeable. This is a great lunch spot that I look forward to frequenting regularly. I will finish this review with five words, Save room for the cookies!

Ok, maybe it’s too soon to give 5 stars but let me just tell you this is my second time at this place in a 3 day time frame. I have tried one of their items and I have committed myself to go down their menu until I have tried all of their main selections. I tried the chicken Parmesan sub and loved it, hence why I am back. I believe that the rest of their items will be as memorable and delicious. I’m excited

Awesome family run Italian restaurant with an amazing menu made from scratch! Strozzi is a great addition to the neighborhood, with modern/clean atmosphere, serving up classic Italiano dishes. When I was finishing up my Chicken Parm, a special delivery came through with fresh ricotta cheese from NYC. Sounds like they’re doing it right! Looking forward to trying more of their menu.

this is definitely a cute little joint in the corner, the atmosphere is relaxed and very welcoming. Customer service is 5 stars, everything on the menu looks so yummy and tempting, I heard good things about the sausage sub so i gave it a shot. Served, hot and cheesy. Will be back :) Highly recommend

I love this place. Great Barrio lunch spot. Their food is classic, good so cal italian and is cheap. It’s a deal and filling, I usually get two meals out of my lunch. It’s a family run place and I admire their passion for their food and business every time i talk to their staff.

Get the chicken salad sub. Whatever the dressing they use… they doing it right. The dressing is so savory, I could keep eating well beyond I’m full just cause it tastes so darn good! And they put it on everything. I was a mega fan of Blueprint when it was in this location.(Homage) I’m glad this new joint is keeping it low-key, simple, and tasty. Check it out, it’s nutritious gem.

I wish I had the words to explain the love in my heart and flavor in my mouth! I cannot get enough of this place!!! It’s a cool little spot, worthy of the«hidden gem“title. All of the staff is so friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself has a modern style. Now for the food! I’ve had the chicken salad sandwich, which is incredible. The toasty bread, the crisp lettuce sprinkled with cheese, and the refreshing flavors of the chicken salad itself is enough to make you want to move in. The house made Italian sausage is better than any other sausage I’ve tasted, and when it’s buried in a pile of peppers, onions, and cheese it’s close to perfection! They have it as a burger or a sub(imagine little cartoon hearts popping from my eyes!) The desserts are amazing! The lemon bites, the cookies! The cakes! Even if you don’t find yourself in the area, you should make a trip to visit! I’ll definitely be back again! And again.

Be still my heart. I am head over heals in love with this place namely the sausage. I am super picky about my sausage. I judge sausage fest every year this home made sausage would sweep the competition! The bread it comes on is butter toasted and to die for! The peppers and onions are cooked perfectly and all of that is finished with a sprinkling of quality Parmesan! $ 8 and worth every penny. Everything here is house made the meatballs are supposedly to die for and those are my next victim! They have a special pasta of the day which is housemaid and cooked to order, you can’t get any fresher than that. The salads and lasagna look amazing as well! This new hidden gem will surely be a hit! I also had a warm from the oven oatmeal cookie($ 1)with little bits of toffee and golden raisins it was so good! They have a few home made desserts that are mouthwatering! Banana walnut cupcakes, Andi’s chocolate mint brownies and lemon tarts too! There are a few good local craft IPAs and other beers as well as wine. I think the beers are a bit overpriced however, my beer was $ 7, almost the same price as my sausage. I will definitely be back especially because I just saw a living social coupon for it which I bought you should buy one too!

I came in for lunch and was overtaken by the smell of sausage, peppers, sauce ect… The hostess/waitress Jessica was very friendly. I got my seat and ordered the sausage sub. While waiting for my food the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the people that were eating seemed to be enjoying there food. Jessica brought my food which came out quick and hot. As I took my first bite a smile of joy came to my face. This was the best sausage sub I have ever tasted. The peppers were cooked to perfection and the sausage was tender and well seasoned. I was eating true Italian food. I was very pleased with Strozzi’s. I will definitely be back and will let everyone know if they want great homemade Italian food that is fresh and full of flavor this is the place to come. Thank you for the great time and food.
