We wanted something to eat after arriving to the Gaslamp. We were heading to Meze however they were closed for a private Halloween party. We decided to stop at Subway and have a quick bit. The location was clean and there was a restroom. The service was prompt, courteous and this location is open 24 hours. My sub was well toasted, hot and had exactly the items request.

I like this Subway. It’s very close to my work so I’ve been a handful of times. During lunch hour the line is pretty long, but the staff always keeps it moving. This last time I ordered a 6″ oven roasted chicken breast on wheat bread. It was good as always and filling enough. Prices are standard and the facility is clean. Not much else you can need in a Subway.

Subway just seems to keep getting worse. Everything downtown sucks so at least it is on par there. About the only cheap thing you can get in the area but not really worth it.

The worst subway in this city. They don’t listen and will throw away your food when your back is turned. STAYAWAY. There are better subways nearby, or just go to a better restaurant.

Sorry to the rest of the workers here for the bad reviews but the girl that finished my sub and charged me had the worst attitude(black rim glasses, thick eyebrows Thursday 6÷25÷2015 @4:30 pm) she didn’t let me finish talking and she was super rude really sucked. i was nothing but nice. I hope she gets fired because there’s people with better attitude and will or need to the job.

This is the second time Claudia has helped me and she gives the worst service ever! Its really sad that she doesn’t smile and she doesn’t greet you. I ask her for a salt and pepper and the shaker is obviously clogged because nothing’s coming out and she gets upset and says, «I already put it on there». That’s not a response you should give to someone. You should check your utensil and fix it to better serve your clients. I ask for more spinach as she only put 5 leaves and she gets upset! No eye contact whatsoever. I don’t know what’s going on in her life but she should leave those things out the door if that’s the case. The manager should have a sit down conversation with her about customer service. I’m only giving one star because of Claudia. Everyone else their service with a smile makes eye contact and conversation when time permits everyone else is great day just not Claudia!

I’ve bee back a few times and it was alright but this morning was not okay. I waited out in the main area for almost ten minutes while all the workers were in back(I get it you’re prepping no worries) someone finally comes out an I put my order in and they start making it, another guy comes in holding an e-cig(not using it just holding it) and I think her name was anuda(Swedish or German lady) starts giving the guy crap about using it(again he was just holding it). I get up to the register and she rings me up and charges me almost twice for my order than any other subway stating that it’s not on the menu. I got a footlong and a six inch sausage with no egg and she charged me full price plus the add ons. This is seriously the worst subway I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived in eight major cities. Well seeing as how I’m in the service industry downtown you can be sure I’m going to make sure people don’t come here and go to the 5th and broadway location instead. If management is reading this you really need to learn how to staff your shop. The way it’s bring run is pretty pathetic. Then again maybe you care about customer service as much as your staff.

Fastest subway I have been to in a long time. Can’t beat the price, especially in Gaslamp Dist! The Jalaleno bread was old and dry, I should have gotten a more popular type. The chicken portions were very small, I will be getting sliced meats next time.

I mean, It’s Subway. This is the closest location to my work and the tall blonde girl is always nice when I walk in. This location is located in the middle of Downtown so often there are homeless people around that ask for spare change, and the place tries to stay clean, but is often dirty. And the food? Well… It’s Subway.

Pros– the staff here was so wonderful, they carefully honored any requests and pointed out special bargains for the day. I especially appreciated how kind the staff was to street people It is a cheap alternative for lunch in the very overpriced gas lamp area. I think it is the perfect choice for taking to the baseball park. I picked up sandwiches for my day trips and splurged for dinners. Cons– well it is subway, so do not expect gourmet.

Planned on going to the Padres game and used the Subway app to order ahead. There was a line out the door but if you order ahead they let you just walk up to the register and pay. Boom. Done. No waiting!

It’s probably unfair of me to review any Subway in general because I’m just not a fan overall. When I do eat at a Subway which is maybe once per year, I try to just smile and not complain because I go there knowing I don’t like them. But, here I was, needing a quick bite before heading to the convention center for a beer festival. I had to have some bread in my belly and if there is one thing you can count on for Subway it’s a lot of bread. So, Subway it was. On this occasion I ordered just a cheese sandwich on wheat. I know that is weird, but I wasn’t super hungry and I’m not a cold sandwich person anyway, so cheese it was. No veggies, just cheese. Three slices of cheese. That’s an extra 50 cents to you and me, because that roll only comes with one slice of cheese and each extra slice is 25 cents. So silly, but whatever. My husband seems to like the sandwiches and if you actually eat a real sandwich I guess $ 4, $ 5, or $ 6 for sandwich and a drink is a decent price. I just think a little more filling is called for. They put their sandwich fillings on like a condiment instead of a filling and I think it’s crap. I also don’t recommend you get the soup at this location because they were heating it in the microwave after scooping it out of the soup vat. If your soup container does not keep the soup hot before serving, that’s pretty much a health code violation. I feel confident in that statement as I work for the Health Dept. DON’T EATTHESOUP! Overall, it was a typical Subway experience. Cheap, boring and a lotta bread. meh.

So one of the few in SD that is 24hr. When I work grave yards, clubbing, late night at the gym, or just wanna eat something health late come here. Somedays you can get the soup but still 24hr subway where most places 24hr aren’t healthy why not.

Worst subway I have ever been to. Granted I have only ever been here after the bars have closed, it’s DOUCHE.BAG.CENTRAL. Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of pizza places nearby where you can satisfy your drunk ass instead. The service is slow. People keep cutting in line and they were allowed to get away with it by the staff even after they have been called out by the entire line. The sandwiches were gross.(I know this is subway we are talking about but Subway is supposed to be consistently decent) and they don’t have the spicy chipotle sauce I like. I ordered the cheesesteak and even though the guy toasted it, it was still cold … and tasteless. hello, this is fast food, it’s supposed to be made tasty by whatever chemicals or lard they add at Subway HQ. Sandwich fail.

Worst Subway in San Diego. The staff obviously hates their job and makes the sloppiest sandwiches possible! I have been here probably 7 times and every time it was a horrible experience. The only reason I come here is because it’s walking distance from my apartment. Now I drive out of my way to get a fresh, neatly made sandwich with good customer service. This Subway needs to hire a new staff that understands the meaning of customer service and making a neat sandwich! Sorry if I sound harsh but after coming here so many times and being disappointed every time it becomes very frustrating.

This a very nice Subway in the middle of East Village. I rare find being opened 24 hours. I came by here to grab a diet coke and some chips for a snack. The service was very friendly and polite. The place was busy being around lunch time, but they still had things moving along the assembly line. I am glad to see they had a number of employees deployed for a busy area and time.

First of all its a Subway, there is nothing great about it, they have the $ 5 Footlong, and then you got Februany. The thing that makes this place great is the fact that they are open 24hrs. I have never been here before 1am, there is no need, but in the wee hours when I am stumbling for food this place is a godsend. The staff dealt with me and really drunk friend very well, and you have to figure this prob goes on for about 4 days a week. They are cool to just deal with it. And everything after a night of drinking just tastes so much better

I appreciate this Subway for staying open 24 hours and its convenient location of walking distances from the hotel we stayed at. The bf and I stopped by here at wee hours to satisfy our hungry tummies after a night of decent drinking. My memory is hazy because I was well intoxicated and sleepy, but I remember standing in line and the place was pretty busy with other party-goers alike. The $ 2 cold cut combo that I indulged in my hotel room sure tasted yummy.

One of two 24hr Subways downtown I believe. It’s a godsend during Comic-con and sells pre-made subs(turkey or spicy Italian on various breads) at $ 5 for a footlong rather than their normal $ 6. I had the pre-made spicy the first time through, and it skimped on veggies, probably to offend the least people, Second time through I had the pulled pork, and I was forced to choose between free chips promotion and a coupon for 2 free cookies with sandwich purchase at the register which I thought sucked. I would highly recommend against this sandwich too… Otherwise like most other Subways.
