Super Jr Market

this place sucks, poor customer service, f***ed up attitude, prices are high as hell you would be better off going to ralphs or albertsons which are not to far. Also the owners and clerks are weird as hell I think they;re greek but not sure. If you shop here you are supporting human smuggling and modern day slavery from what former employees have told me. Also they don’t hire minorities. They even bought a poor guys ebt benifits for half of the worth on his card. Dont go here

I love this place. Their selection of craft beers is amazing and their prices are right. The guys are super knowledgeable about beers. I also love their grocery selection and the fact hat they carry raw milk which is so hard to find anywhere!

Very convenient location with a great selection or groceries and wine and beer.

Owner has «gentrified» the store. I wonder if the poor people who he disrespected for years because they had no where else to go receive a discount from this now no longer inexpensive alternative.
It is obvious where this owner’s heart was all along. He hated the poor minorities who came in there for years and finally has gotten rid of them.
As I mentioned in a previous review, after 10 years of going into this store, he only spoke to me three times (twice when I called in to complain and once he did make a beer purchase suggestion). I have seen white tourists walk in there and get treated like kings and queens by the staff.
There is now a new discount grocery a few blocks from Super Jr., near 12 and Market St. Nice, clean, and VERY CHEAP! They have gourmet food for much less than Super Jr!!!
I know Super Jr. is losing a lot of business. I wonder if the owner will have to go back to low cost inventory and serve, oh no, the poor and Black again! LOL. If so, I hope he has learned his lesson!

Wow. This place has some beers. Seriously. Sure this place is probably a great little market for this and that but I am giving this place 5 stars for the amazing craft beer selection. I love craft beers and will seek out the ones I love. Now I know I only have to go to one place. On this one visit I found Alpine Pure Hoppiness, Exponential Hoppiness, and Nelson IPA. Unbelievable. I also found hard to find flavors from Port, Stone, Coronado, Lagunitas (Hop Stoopid!), Avery, Oskar Blues, Maui Brew, and so many more. A special thanks to Sid and Omar for knowing everything about every beer in the place and being totally cool.

I was riding around San Diego looking for a place to buy beer or wine, when I turned a corner and BAM! Super Jr Market. From the outside, Super Jr looks like your typical downtown liquor store. On second thought, maybe a little nicer than that.
Inside I was blown away by the beer selection. The only other places I have seen such a beautiful selection of beers is buy-​rite in San Francisco. Overwhelmed by choices, I decided to go classic with a Chimay and an IPA I didn’t recognize.
I ran around looking for a snack and found good-​looking produce, tasty chips, cold sandwiches, and hot foods to go.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place!

This is the best liquor store in the downtown area, and possibly the best one in all of San Diego. Their beer selection is HUGE, ranging from Belgians to California micro-​brews. The owner’s sons are usually on hand to provide helpful beer suggestions and quick checkout. That’s another thing I love about this place, it’s locally owned and operated, as opposed to the innumerable 7−11s found in the downtown area.
While I have never had one of their sandwiches, I know they serve Boar’s Head meats and the deli looks immaculately clean.
Their website (which is found in John M’s review) keeps an updated list of all of the beers they have on stock and provides details about the grocery section of the market. Which reminds me, this is much more than simply a liquor store, it is a full service mini-​grocery store with fresh produce, dairy products and meats.
