I just started taking tap classes at Tap Fever, and I honestly can say that I have a great time. As a guy, I will concede that tap dancing is silly and foppish, and yet I manage to enjoy myself every class. It starts off basic enough that a generally uncoordinated man such as myself could hop into classes and not feel completely lost. Larisa is a fantastic teacher, and if you’re looking to improve your dance skills or have a little extra physical activity this is the place to go. Just take tap, you’ll catch the fever! And there’s no cure, so be careful.

The Adult Rhythm Tap classes taught by JJ on Tuesday nights are challenging, but motivating. JJ is energetic and has engaging choreography. It is difficult to find decent adult tap classes in San Diego, so I am glad I found this place. The prices are average for San Diego and the studio is very small, but overall Tap Fever is a good studio for tap.

I love Tap Fever! I am a teacher of the visually impaired and have been bringing students to Larissa’s(owner and instructor) class for two years. Larissa engages the students and helps them understand dancing in more than just a visual way. She uses whatever tools she can to help them learn and master their dance routine. Tap Fever helped my students be more confident in front of large groups and audiences. The performances at the end of the sessions are great because they give the students something to work towards. It also gives parents a chance to see what else Tap Fever offers. It’s not just tap! JJ, another instructor, teaches some great hip hop classes, as well as tap. I’ve seen ballet, theatrical dance, and burlesque to name a few. Check the classes out for yourself. Larissa posts the classes clearly outside so if you’re shy, you can take a peek without revealing your secret desire to dance hehe Tap Fever also allows you to pick class bundles that work for you. Even classes without a spot in the sessions performance, if that’s what you’re after. Either way, if you have kids or used to dance or have always wanted, come and see for yourself. Tap Fever has a motto: everyone can dance and everyone should. They really mean it :0)

Tap Fever is a beautiful, well-run and organized studio. The location is awesome — right in Bird Rock, with big glass windows up front to let natural light into the studio! All of the instructors that I have met are extremely nice, knowledgeable, and very passionate for all types of dance! I took the Burlesque Tease jazz class taught by Monica, which is a blast! I took ballet in first grade, but other than that, have never been a dancer in my life, but Monica is able to easily break down the choreography into easy-to-follow 8-counts, and she even spices it up with props like top hats and chairs! The class is both hugely entertaining and enjoyable, as well as a killer workout! Tap Fever offers a great variety of different types of dance classes from fitness to ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, world dance, and party dancing. I’m excited to try some of the other classes next. I highly recommend this studio based on my experiences so far!
