I love this this place ! It’s just a little palapa but its the only place I know in San Diego that serves Nieve De Grafa, and one of a few that serves Tejuino. Nieve De Garafa is basically homemade ice cream, churned with old-fashioned ice cream maker. They use larger metal tins, lined with salt and ice on the outside layer to bring down the temperature of the ice cream mixture. The mixture is plunged in vertical motion to churn the ingredients. The end result is a delicious snow like treat. The texture is very different than Ice Cream. They have two flavors Limon and Mango. I love the Limon. The Limon taste like fresh squeezed lemonade with hints of sugar. If you want to add some spice to your sugar, ask them to top it with Chamoy! If your in for a different kind of drink try the Tejuino(teh-HWEE-no). Tejuino is a thick sweet masa based drink. Yes corn masa, the same one used to make tortillas. I’m not sure on how they prepare the ingredients but they consist of Masa, piloncillo(Mexican brown sugar), salt, water, ice, fresh key lime juice and lemon sherbet. The consistency is like a Slurpee and the drink is very refreshing. Skip the ice cream and try something different Tejuno La Dona Open 11am-7 pm 7 Days a week Cash Only.

I went back last week and they offered to put chamoy and chile powder on top of my ice cream I said yes why not!!! Delicioso an explosion of flavors but you really have to like spicy stuff. Confession I am addicted!
