Walked in with a group of friends and say at the bar. They ordered margaritas and like them so we ordered food. One ordered chicken mole and liked it another enchiladas that were good I think. My other buddy ordered a carnitas plate and told me it was mushy and bland. I ordered two appetizers the civiche and chicken floutas. The civiche was good but it doesn’t come with tostadas or chips so I asked for chips. The floutas were bland mushy and gross. There was no flavor and seemed thrown together. Was not a very good meal. Didn’t find out how the other two liked their meals while not sitting at the bar. If it was like ours definitely not worth the cost for bland mushy Mexican food.

Family of four from the LBC Unilocaled this spot during our visit to SD. Breakfast was fabulous! I had the bacon benny, hubby had chile quiles half green n red! Kids had pancakes with fresh fruit! I LOVED their black beans! Ps bottomless mimosas for $ 10.

This place was tasty but a little pricy and the service was not good. It took for ever to get some bread toasted and to find out the toaster was broken. They charged for everything but yet no substitues in food.

I came here on Tuesday night… we were influenced to go in by the nice black man outside. It’s funny because he put his hand on my shoulder and said«We have songs you can karaōke in Spanish.» Hahahaha! My girl friend and I went in to check it out hoping to hear some peeps mess up on their singing and getting a good laugh but no one was doing anything. It was empty with only about 4 people. Id go back again on a Friday night perhaps. I was hoping to sing Man in the Mirror but maybe next time.

I used to love coming here after a great night of dancing downtown and on a regular basis, but now I am fearful of my safety and the safety of the company I am with! The heavyset door man took his agression out on my party for no apparent reason one night and I am sad to say that the food is not worth our safety. Police were called and there is further action being taken as of now that I cannot specify. I hope the owner wises up and lets him loose before he hurts someone else. I will miss the good times with my friends and family at this restaurant/karaōke bar.

This place is a dive and they know that. It’s such a dive that on a Wednesday night they dont’ even have a bouncer, no one checked ID’s. They had 2 bartenders behind the bar but really really struggled to make basic well drinks and serve beers. I had to wait a good 10 minutes to get a simple margarita. Avoid this place, there are definitely better places on 5th avenue.

We just happened to stop in for happy hour. They were very nice and the service was great. We had the ceviche and it was so good that we ordered another one. My pet peeve with ceviche is they usually cheap out on you with fillers like shrimp and tomatoes. This one had very little shrimp but had tons of large chunks of more expensive fish and no tomatoes. Awesome and cheap beer. Im giving it a 4 but solely based on the one dish we had.

Me-eh. Stopped in here for a hungover breakfast before leaving SD and decided to get the $ 10 bottomless mimosas to help. My breakfast was decent; I got the chilaquiles, and everyone else in my party seemed to be satisfied by the food. But at the same time, no one was blown away by their meal. The other highlights included a nice outdoor area to sit, and the service. Seeing as the mimosas were bottomless, we were definitely taking advantage. Our server was very nice and always ready to refill the drinks when they got close to the bottom, even though she was the only one assigned to our area.

Went there for Karaōke. A little late night drinking. Karaōke DJ didn’t have the song we requested from the song book. You’d think they’d have it or it wouldn’t be in there. I did have fun, but yeah, «I’ve experienced better.»

Judgmental Hospitality Student Quick Analysis: The food at work in the break room is tastier. The service at my dorm dining hall is more attentive. But by far, tequila 100 has the most absurd pricing in the history of finance. I guess what I am trying to say is that they seem as if they were trying extremely hard to be mediocre. They succeeded.

Probably wouldn’t come here again. The place was dead, dark, and dreary. Nothing here says come back. Other than the less than enthused promoter outside, nothing would tell me to come in the place to begin with. I love places that have karaōke… but this one was sad and dreary. The whole place seems run down, and the restrooms were less than adequate.

Tasty mexican food at a fair price. Came here for lunch, because café 21 was packed. They serve breakfast all day so I decided to get some chorizo. Has these 3 tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs covered in black beans and cheese and topped with spicy chorizo. It was pretty tasty for such a simple dish. I wish they added more chorizo they only sprinkled a little on top. 3.5 out of 5 sporks. I also had some chips and salsa and guac. The chips were good, fresh, and they gave us 4 types of salsa to try which was pretty good. Each sauce had it own delicious unique flavor. And the guac was fresh and also good. 4 out of 5 sporks. They also had some cool looking drinks that I might try next time. Prices are fair considering the big portions you get. Service is slow, they need to work on that. But they were nice and attentive. Décor is cool, nothing flashy but not your typical mexican spot. Kind of like an old mexican tequila theme going on. All in all I say this is a good spot for lunch if you’re in the area. Maybe an alternative if you don’t want to wait for Café 21 next door.

We decided to take the day off and head downtown. The only breakfast we had was coffee on the Coaster ride South and Tequila 100 was one of the few places open serving up breakfast in the Gaslamp and we headed inside. It has small outside/inside dining and a cute little bar to boot. We chose to sit in the back to escape the hot sun and take advantage of the comfortable booths near the kitchen. Yes, we sat in direct sight where completed dishes sat before pickup… this will be an important fact later. Our server stops by and we order two waters, I got a coke and my GF ordered a spicy bloody Mary. While we waited I watched the table next to us ask our server where the tortillas that were supposed to come with breakfast were located? Awwww shit my Unilocal alarm started to buzz softly. A few minutes later we received a poor bloody Mary and a tube of coke. Like, no joke the glass was this weird tube shape so with ice you’re drinking at best 5 oz of coke… awwwww shit the Unilocal meter was began to buzz again. I could only hope the people around me didn’t hear it! Well, the dude waiting for his tortillas was all pissed off and focused on the kitchen window so I’m sure he didn’t hear it. We began talking about the possible plan for the day which would be filled with window shopping, Little Italy, the Star of India… damn today is going to kick ass! We completed our plan of attack for downtown and I started really getting hungry… why did I not eat a little something with my stupid yummy coffee from Starbucks??? I watched the kitchen send out orders like a hawk… none of which look like what we ordered. Damn stop buzzing Unilocal alarm!!! Ohhh look yet another odd drink glass shape filled with water has arrived yippie! I do appreciate glassware from the 1970’s :o) it’s just so strange! 30 minutes into the wait I kinda wanted another tube of Coke where is our waiter? Ohh I see him, he seems to be avoiding us… whatever, I’ll ask for tube Coke when our breakfast gets served. Me: «So, what do you wanna do today… wait we covered that.» GF: «I don’t care sweetie whatever you want I just want our breakfast already!‘ Me: «I keep looking at the window but don’t see our stuff?» GF: «I’m all over that and NO they have not started it yet.» At this point I get out the smart phone Unilocal app and comment on the long wait(this place was not busy what is the big holdup)??? I began daydreaming of reasons why the cook kept avoiding our ticket… I was convinced he just didn’t like making it… Hell at this point I can’t even remember what«it» was… What did we order for breakfast?! We both just stared into the kitchen waiting… hoping… I’m not sure why I was hopeful the stuff leaving the window didn’t even look good… awwwwww come on Unilocal alarm I was just making a comment! 55 minutes into the breakfast wait we didn’t even want to be in Downtown anymore. We were hot, hungry and our server decided the best approach to handle the obvious delay was to avoid our section and eye contact at all costs! Whatever, we decided to take the train North to get lunch in Encinitas. We flagged down our waiter and I was going to ask if our breakfast order was almost done(umm we knew that answer to that) but my GF made the immediate executive decision and dropped: «If our breakfast hasn’t been started we’d just like the check.» So Unilocalers the moment of truth, did they at least BEGIN cooking our breakfast? Drum roll please… Nope. Did the server ever stop by explaining the delay, ask if we wanted another crappy bloody Mary or refill my coke tube? Nope. Did the server get a good tip? LOL Will we EVER stop into Tequila 100 again? This can best best be answered with an Office Space clip where I’d like to ask the kitchen staff It worked out fine. We paid for our drinks and had a great lunch at the Union in Encinitas: o) I give this Tequila 1002 «Coke tube serving food tease bitches» out of 10

Come on… you don’t really go to a bar for the food — you go for Happy Hour! Which is exactly why me and my buddies(i.e. my boyfriend and best friend) hit up Tequila 100 after having their«HAPPYHOUR» sign waved in our faces. The place was pretty small, and it definitely attracts an older crowd(mid-20s+), which made us the youngest of the bunch there. That didn’t really phase us, since we weren’t particularly in the mood to booze up and get hot bitchezzz. We got our Happy Hour drinks(beer, shots of Jäger and tequila, a margarita for the lone female) and ordered some fried cheese roll thing and settled in a half-booth in the corner of the bar. Beer was good. Jäger was good. The tequila, whatever it was, was good. The margarita was big, and YUM! delicious(although I am one of those who don’t like the taste of alcohol in their drinks). Surprisingly, the cheese roll thing was really good(just Mexican cheese fried up) and provided drunkie snacks for us. The same night we went was also their karaōke night(maybe they have this everyday, I don’t know). My boyfriend who was now quite liquored-up got up and lead the also liquored-up crowed to a rousing rendition of «Don’t Stop Believing.» Yeah, cliché choice, but hey… everyone loves it. At the end of the night, our total came to about $ 35 bucks for a plethora of dranks and food. Good night.

I noticed that locals tend to shy away from the Gaslamp as it’s mainly tourist and out-of-towners that frequent the place. Guess what? We fit the criteria. Wifey and I were just wandering around deciding on where else to go after leaving the kids at the hotel. We walked and gawked around Gaslamp like your typical tourist and we stumbled upon this place. It must have been Karaōke night that drew us in. Service was excellent and the Host had a great sense of humor as we were joking back and forth. Our server was great as she was very attentive and helpful. She was quick, efficient and fast, and she did all with a warm, genuine smile. Ordered the Cheese Chicharon, Fondue and Sweet Potato Fries. OMG… the Cheese Chicharon was so effin huge. It was similar to an Indian Dosa.(Should’ve taken a picture) The Cheese Chicharon was cooked like a pancake and rolled for easy consumption. The Fondue also came with another Cheese Chicharon(only smaller) and the cheese had Chorizo mixed in. We actually didn’t finish everything so our kids got to enjoy some at the hotel. Had myself a light beer and a couple of Gin and Juice. Our server even gave me an extra drink on the house. Wow, how cool was that? And for entertainment, we were watching some folks belt out their best tunes. There were some hits and misses, but there was one girl who could definitely sing. No, we didn’t sing as it will probably take a fee more libations before I can get up and sing in front a group of strangers. However, we did enjoy the atmosphere and great service. Yeah, fun times indeed.

Went here during the Jazz Fest. The food was pretty bland and lacked flavor. Good service and I do like the interior. It was pretty awesome watching and listening to the music while I was eating. Decent mimosa with fresh orange juice. Not sure why I didn’t get offered chips and salsa when everyone else had them, it’s okay though my fat bloated arse didn’t need it. There are too many other places to eat in Hillcrest, Mission Hills and Banker’s Hill for breakfast. Skip this place for food but I bet that Happy Hour does not disappoint.

Came in on on random Monday for lunch because it was a 3 day weekend and somehow, the staff didn’t get the memo that the rest of society also got a 3 day weekend(well majority of society). Why you ask? Well, there were only 2 people working in the dining area, but with like 50 people trying to eat. I’m faulting the management on this for under staffing on the restaurant on a holiday weekend. Whatever. Came in to finally get rid of this stupid Groupon. So I got me a Dos Equis. So not only it took a long time to get me a menu because of the under staffing, it took another 15 minutes or so to change out the keg since it was tapped out the night before. Again, management issues. For my main course, I got me 2 beef carne asada tacos and 2 lobster tacos with rice, beans, and sour cream. The carne asada and lobster were pretty good, but the rice was semi-dry. For dessert, I went with the strawberry crepes. Kinda weird to order this in a Mexican restaurant, but it was either this or the home made flan. But I was still hungry so I chose the bigger of the two. Not bad, devoured it in about 2 minutes. I was pretty impressed on how they handled themselves especially when it was just the 2 of them doing the food serving. Yah sure, they were pretty late with the food orders, but I was eating by myself, and I wasn’t rushing to go anywhere else, but still, they did a decent job of trying their best despite the under staffed Monday lunch rush. Oh well. Lesson learned.

I wanted to throw myself a big ass bash for my birthday … As some of you may remember I asked my fellow Unilocalers for help and got nothing… With time running out and not having any real idea of what to do, my brother recommended this place. He had a hookup and who doesn’t like that. So at the last minute I rounded up the peeps and headed out. Parking was a mother, but expected. This story could go on for days so let me just point out the pluses: –The Navy dudes buying shots for the birthday girl. WooHoo! –Karaōke. Brandon busting out the Lady Gaga. Your voice is amazing. If you’re out there, holler at me. –The staff was very nice, brought my cake out and IMO was very attentive to my group. Overall, I was very pleased with the service, food and drinks there. I’m glad that I decided to have my celebration there rather than douching it up at a club for hundreds of dollars more. Good times! and I have the pictures to prove it.

We stumbled upon this place waiting to board our cruise ship. $ 10 bottomless mimosas, yes please! Salud! Made with freshly squeezed OJ, those drinks sure hit the spot and kicked off our weekend of drinking merriment. Service was great! The wait staff found a little corner for us to house our luggage we had in tow and let 7 girls be as rowdy as we could be on a Friday morning. Food was just ok for me. Mimosas were way better. I had the Chicken Chilaquiles. It was just alright. I think I’d do a better job making it at home! Overall though, our time at Tequila 100 was a blast. Come for the drinks not the food!
