My bf and I have been coming here for the past few months and we’ve always been happy with the food here. It’s a small place and may not stand out because it’s surrounded by businesses that close by sundown, but we find it to be a little gem. I’ve had my fair share of Thai food and the food here has been consistently good for us. The owners are really nice. We were more patient with them yesterday because they were busier than usual but the server(owner) has always been very kind to us and always checks on you if you need anything. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I’ve been to pricier Thai places down here and what you get is mehhhh… Give them a try!

This was my first visit. The yellow curry was fair and the flavors did not pop with freshness. Halfway through my meal, I encountered something difficult to chew. I spat it into my napkin and was HORRIFIED! I was about to ingest a metal twist tie from the vegetables!!! The waitress(owner??)did offer my meal for free, but unfortunately between the combination of the food being just fair and a near fatal occurrence, my confidence has been shaken to ever visit this establishment again.

There were only 2 veggies in the tom yum soup when there should be a variety. Broth was ok.

The Thai food is decent. barely… and the owner who is also the waitress is super rude. But that’s not enough to give it a 1 star, why I am giving it so low of a rating is shortly after eating the spicey tuna roll, Rainbow roll and some salmon nigiri we began to violently vomit. DONOTEATTHESUSHIHERE. You’ll just be in pain the rest of the night.

Came here on a whim because we were looking for a new thai place and this was rated 4-stars and close enough to the office to get in a good midday walk. FOOD –tofu yellow curry, level 3 –veggie green curry, level 7 –tom ka soup with tofu, level 3 –tofu soup with chicken –pad thai TOFUYELLOWCURRY&GREENCURRY Tofu yellow curry was not impressive. I love a curry that is rich and creamy and their curry was more watery/soupy. One of the reasons I picked this place was because people were calling it the best curry they’ve had before. In my opinion, there are much better yellow curries to be had in the downtown San Diego area. There were also 3 pieces of chicken in my curry, TF? Had I been a vegetarian, I would have been very disappointed and upset. Coworker ordered level 7 spicy for her green curry and said it was not spicy. Also, the selection of vegetables in the curry was very peculiar to me. I’m used to yellow curry having potatoes, carrots, onions, and green & red bell peppers. Our curries came with broccoli, carrots, green beans, a trace amount of onions, and bamboo shoots? I’m not 100% what those last ones were, but they definitely weren’t onions. TOMKASOUPWITHTOFU Coworker said most of it was just soup, not super flavorful, and not a lot of filling ingredients. ALSO, found chicken in this soup, just like the tofu yellow curry. TOFUSOUPWITHCHICKEN Worker said the tofu soup tasted just like the one she made for herself at home. She said it was ok, but she expected it to be more flavorful. PADTHAI Coworker said that he really enjoyed his pad thai, but wasn’t sure that he would go there again over other thai restaurants in the area. PSATOALLTHEVEGETARIANS: It’s definitely a risk to eat here. Two of the tofu dishes we ordered, had at least 2 pieces of chicken. I can only assume this to mean that they’re careless in making their dishes, or they use similar cooking utensils/pots/pans to cook meat and non-meat dishes. Still on the hunt to find a great yellow curry in downtown San Diego.

Such a cute, small restaurant. I had the Panang Curry and enjoyed a freshly brewed Thai Iced Tea. The lady who works there is so sweet. Super friendly and food is great! 5 stars :)

This is a cute little place in downtown that offers a small patio to eat outside. They unfortunately let people smoke out there while you are trying to eat(ewww might I add) The thai ice tea was great! We got The lunch special panang chicken curry, ehhhh is all I had to say. We also got the shrimp drunken noodles, looked much better then it was. We got to share both didn’t think either were great, usually both my favorites but would get again. Dont know what kind of noodle They used in the drunken noodle but it was NOT the typical drunken noodle. The sushi was on the other hand really good along with the thai ice tea.

Had the drunken noodles and the sesame chicken. Both were okay, but not spectacular. The inside of the restaurant is a little dark and small so we chose to sit outside. But outside, we felt like we were right in the middle of the sidewalk, with pedestrians brushing by as we ate. Not sure which choice would be better. The service was no frills, but friendly. Watching the lady who was helping us(who I’m guessing is the owner) interact with some of the neighbors and customers who came in, gave the place a bit of neighborly charm. But rating based on food, ambience, and overall experience, I’d give this a 3.5 out of 5.

Very good panang curry & pad thai. They were out of fresh spring roll wraps when I was there so that was kind of a bummer. Good service, busy LITTLE place. I love Thai food & have eaten at many different spots all over the US(have yet to make it to Thailand!) & this was delicious. Veggies were fresh & flavor was on point. We’d visit again!

I love the ambiance. Very cozy and dimly lit. I ordered green curry and asked if they could add avocado(sidenote: so delicious, if you don’t know now you know). They were very hesitant and I said I would pay extra. I realized the server and chef was getting angry because they didn’t want to change the original recipe, understandably. I never want to upset the chef or show any disreapect in any restaurant. I just asked if they would give me a side of avocado. They did, with an extra charge, and I threw it in there myself. It was so yummy! I really enjoyed my meal, however next time I will be sure to ask for extra chicken because the Curry comes with a very small amount of thin strips of chicken; it’s about the same size as the chopped green beans. Their sushi is AMAZING! I had the Specialty Tempura Philadelphia Roll… It came out so fresh and warm. I will definitely be a returning costumer!

Came here to try it out after having my hair done next door at Groom.(Jaimie’s the best!) Had the shrimp pad Thai. Comes with veggie egg rolls and a salad. Pad Thai was too sweet for my liking but the shrimps were plenty and fresh. Thai iced tea was on point.

This review is for their DINNER menu. I came to this place due to overwhelming great Unilocal reviews. This place gets great reviews on their lunch items, but I’m not sure how good their dinner items are. I thought it was strange that they have a combination of «sushi» & «thai food». But since this place has such a great review, I’m compelled to try this place. I list my reviews for the 2 items we had during«dinner» time. Let me get straight to the reviews. First item we ordered was: 1) Vegetarian Yellow curry: The sauce was watery without much curry spice flavor. It included bamboo shoots and green beans that tasted like can vegetables. In addition, the curry had broccoli and carrot. These 3 vegetables did not taste good in a yellow curry. If you are a meat eater, it might taste better with chicken, but I would NOT recommend this dish to my friends who are vegetarians. 2) Hot basil stir fried(vegetarian): I ordered the hot basil stir fried dish which included green bell pepper, white onion, carrot, frozen green beans, and 3 pieces of fresh broccoli. I hate to make such a negative comment, but this dish was really a joke. It tasted like soy sauce stir fried with vegetables. I saw 2 pieces of jalapeño. It did not have the distinctive Thai flavor that I was looking for. It tasted like a cheap Chinese stir fried with a very bland flavor. It might taste better if you order the chicken instead of vegetarian. My conclusion about this place is that this is a great lunch place, but I’m not sure if their dinner menu is as good as their lunch menu. I wound not recommend this place for dinner at all.

If you want spicy, come here. I ordered ten star chicken pad Thai and when I picked it up, the lady at the front said don’t call us crying when you’re done eating. I’ve been to many Thai places and ordered ten stars and it is never spicy enough. This was spicy. My mouth was hot after two bites — well done to the chef. I actually had to dial the spice back with some avocado to eat it. Ten Unilocal stars for spice. The pad Thai itself was pretty good and I’m giving that about 3.5−4 stars. So it’s good but not knock you pants off great. Customer service was very good also she said it would be ready in 15 minutes for take out, and it was 15 minutes perfect. Definitely a place to try again although I might bring it back down and get 6 – 7 stars.

was already very wary of a place that serves both thai and sushi… but reviews were decent enough so i thought i’d give it the old college try. definitely not impressed with the drunken noodle… not even sure if I would’ve liked it if I was drunken. ha-ha see what I did there? but really, it tasted like a weird sour ketchup noodle instead. never had anything like it. will give it another shot probably since its across the street and the only thai place within a few blocks… but mehs the word.
