The Cafe

I’ll be back. This is a café primarily used for the PUSD employees but they are open to the public. Very casual experience; order at the register, food served in baskets and plastic plates. We loved it! Big Bang for your buck, most meals are less than $ 5 and the portion sizes are shareable. We had the breakfast burrito, it was pretty good (huge) as well as the pancakes (even bigger).
The staff was super friendly. The only drawback was the interior tables are shared with the staffs common kitchen area but you can always eat outside or take it to go.

So this place is in the back of the poway school district building. It wasn’t packed on a Thursday at noon for lunch and I ordered through Unilocal which meant my food was ready when I arrived. The clubhouse wrap was decent, not good and not bad. Lettuce dominated one side of it and the meat was store bought pre-​sliced. The strawberry smoothie was the best though! Wow, so good!
The menu seems overwhelming and I wonder what Gordon Ramsey would think of it. The service was fine but I could tell how it would be a disaster if I didn’t pre-​order online. One cashier and one chef and it did start getting busy after I arrived.
At only 3 stars I would still recommend this place. They should call it The Cafeteria and not The Café though.

Service was good, however food was not. Artichokes were a disaster. I had a Spanish omelette. Wasn’t good. Next time hitting up the Buffett !

Found this place through Unilocal!This little café is attached to the back side of the poway United school district building. I think it might actually be where the employees eat lunch but it’s open to the public! I saw pics of the wraps and had to try it and am glad I did. First off, huge menu. Pretty much any lunch or breakfast items you could want. Everything is fresh and the staff is very kind. It’s affordable and fast. Will definitely return!

The food is good for a business park type of café. I have had several menus items that are about the same quality. You can have a decent lunch for under $ 10 for most items.

This place is a hidden gem! It’s located inside the Poway school district building to the left side. Just a nice place to have within a 5 minute walking distance from work for days you don’t pack lunch. I’ve only been there once and ordered one of the breakfast burritos. For less than $ 5, it’s huge and taste really good! It took quite a while to make it though, so I’d suggest calling in ahead and picking it up to save some time.

I work down the street and have eaten here a. A few times for convenience. As others have notes it is an out of the way place and appears to be managed for employees of the Poway school district. There are no bathrooms for non school district employees that I can tell so beware.
Ok so into the review…
Food is neither good nor bad. I’ve had 3 – 4 of their sandwiches, the salad bar, and their made to order salads. I didn’t dislike any but wasn’t wowed either. Just Ok.
The menu is huge and has a lot of unique items. Prices in my opinion a little pricey. With that said, portions on things like French fries are huge. More then I certainly need.
Service is a great. Very nice, friendly staff. You order at the front and they bring it out to you. Has a very homey feel to the service.
Thus I present 3 stars. Not bad but not raving good either.

The service here is okay (they are really slow at making wraps). I come here because it’s close to work, it has a nice view, and for the huge portion. The two times I’ve been here I got the wraps because one wrap can equal to two meals if you’re not a big eater like I am. I also brought my co-​workers with me the second time around because I had liked the food enough to recommend the place. One got a sandwich and the other got a breakfast burrito. The latter didn’t like his burrito but the one that got the sandwich loved it. However if you’re getting the wrap, I can say with certainty… it’s very good.

Sometimes, 30 minutes just isn’t enough time to drive somewhere for lunch, wait for food, eat, and drive back to work on time. This little café is a blessing for everyone who works in offices around this area.
This café itself is a little hidden, you can’t really see it when driving or walking by on Avenue of Science. It’s located on the south side of the Poway Unified School District building and is open to the public. I usually call in my order beforehand then walk over to pick it up. By the time I get there my order is usually ready.
For a small café this place offers a wide variety of items on their menu. My favorite thing to order from here is their breakfast burrito. The best thing about their burrito is that you can customize it however you want and pretty much add anything they have, all at a reasonable price! Everything is cooked to order so your food is guaranteed to be piping hot and fresh. The quality of their food is amazing and the prices are fair, just about what you would expect to spend for lunch at similar places in the area.
If you’re looking to change up your lunch routine then give this café a try!

STILL LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner is amazing and everyone that works there is very sweet. I haven’t been in a long time but they still treat me as if they saw me last week. This is the MUST EAT lunch spot for people in the area.

OK I have been in love with this café since it opened! I work just down the street and eat there at least once a week. I always get a sandwich and a salad (from the salad bar) which is pretty reasonable at about $ 6 or $ 7 the salad bar is always stocked with tons of fresh options, and I am addicted to the French dip and the wraps they have. I definitely recommend it they have great daily specials and also cater a lot of our work meetings and events.

The prices are great. You get a lot of really good food for a fabulous price. Their salad bar gas a lot of choices. The owners are friendly. They are quick which is perfect for lunch time.

The Café catered a luncheon at our high school this morning and it was delicious. The person in charge ordered from their breakfast menu; scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausages, bacon, coffee and more. DELICIOUS! It was a nice change from our usual affair and the guests loved it. We will be doing business with them again. Thank goodness our employee did some research and found these guys, who are part of our very own District!!! Highly recommend.

Weird! Okay for those who don’t know anything about this place like I did, it’s part of the Poway Unified school district. It’s completely hidden. I finally found the place but was taken back when I walked in. It looks like a lunch break room for teachers. It was weird and I almost felt like I didn’t have the right to eat there but I ordered anyways. I got a wrap with french fries no drink. My total came to about $ 7.00. The wrap was loose with big chunks of lettuce and chicken. It was a mediocre salad wrapped in a tortilla. The french fries tasted like Ore-​Ida or something generic you get from the store. Edible food but I wont be back. Its too strange too. I think this is just a cafeteria for Poway Unified employees but they don’t stopnon-​employees from ordering.

This place was recommended by some friends at work. Its a nice walk from our office, so we went to check it out today.
Its sooooo good & the prices are great! I ordered a veggie wrap, ½ is still sitting on my desk because the portion size is giant! It also comes with a side salad (some other sides are available too) — and the salad bar is full of yummy stuff.
My co — workers got the special which was a grilled chicken with cheese, bacon, and bbq sauce — they all loved it!
We are looking forward to heading up to the café for more lunches, if your in the neighborhood or want a new place to try… this one is highly recommended!!!

I’ve had this place numerous times because whenever we’re working through lunch my company caters food from here about ¼ of the time.
I’ve tried the croissantwich and their club wrap, both of them being pretty tasty and it’s only 6 bucks for that and a side! Pretty great deal for some mediocre yet fast food. They have breakfast lunch deals so anytime you’re around or if you work around here. definitely swing by and check it out.
