The Dailey Method Barre & Yoga Studio San Diego

Took my first class this weekend and it was great!

Incredible studio — they get everything right, from customer service to beautiful facilities to kick-​butt classes! Love the emphasis on proper alignment and mind-​body health, as well as the sense of community. Each class leaves me more sore than the one before!

This was my first barre method class. Purchased my very first barre socks here haha. It was a really nice facility. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. There was definitely a lot of shaking. Jaime is a wonderful instructor with lots of help with adjustments. I sweat a lot so some of you may want to bring a towel. I will definitely be back.

If you are craving a workout for every muscle in your body, look no further. At DM they work you in every way you can imagine and the results you can’t beat. It’s a very clean space, in a great location with amazing teachers. You can’t find a better place to work your body anywhere in San Diego. I love every class at the daily method and can’t imagine ever going anywhere else because my expectations are so high.

was in town for a few weeks and scored a groupon, what a deal! i attended at least a dozen classes, and all of the instructors were awesome. challenging workouts, form was corrected when needed, personable, friendly, etc. showers in the studio were a huge bonus, and i love the line of shampoos and soaps they offer. the interval classes were more cardio than barre, and this offered a nice variety. wasn’t a huge fan of yoga, but i was looking more for strength, and this was stretch. overall, great place to practice, i would highly recommend, and if i am ever in san diego again, i’ll be back. thanks dailey method!

Awesome beginner class. They give free classes on Sunday’s at 10:45 which was a nice surprise. Friendly and knowledgable instructor and beautiful studio. Got all the knots out of my back before I had to travel-​hope to return soon.

Update: I have been coming to class for 2+ years and I love love love coming here :) this is one of the only workouts that helps with my lower back issues. I love the community, the instructors and the studio itself is beautiful. This place is amazing. I’ve done barre before, and it doesn’t even compare to the quality of this class. It feels like the instructors are speaking directly to your muscles, telling them what to do and how to align. I’m surprised I’ve never injured myself in other workouts knowing that my posture and alignment was so off. Each class you feel tighter and stronger. Then, they end the class with calm breathing exercises. Wow. I literally wake up and look forward to going so I can feel my best all day. Get the Groupon and try it out, you will be hooked!!!

Lift! Squeeze! Shake! Tuck! Breathe! Mixing in tiny, teeny, little, burning, shaking movements make you leave this class feeling like you can take on the world! And feeling like your seat lifted a few inches… Without implants!
I’ve been an avid barre fly since 2007 and this was one of the most motivating, engaging classes yet! Cassie taught my class today and her energy and passion is contagious! So awesome to have an instructor who makes you want to do better & push yourself harder in a positive upbeat way — even at 6am!
This facility is flawless. It had every detail you could want reasonable parking, immaculately clean facility, showers, lockers, cubbies, small intimate studios, great retail, filtered water and more. Very impressed with the studio and staff.
I’m recovering from a back injury (from spinning) and this was exactly the type of class I needed to get my abs engaged, posture in alignment, stretched & most importantly able to feel the BURN!!! Highly recommend!

Ashley LVE! My favorite is a lot of FORM reminders. If your form isn’t correct, it’s not working. Hands-​on assistance & a lot of one-​on-​one despite a group class is excellent & hard to find. Inspiring & energizing music. Clean. Beautiful atmosphere.

Now that I’ve lived in San Diego for 8 months I can happily say Dailey Method is my favorite barre studio in the city. I’ve been to what seems like a million, and while there are others I like a lot nothing quite compares to Dailey Method.
For one, the studio is beautiful. It’s spacious and has a huge bathroom and locker room area with anything you’d ever need — blow dryer, straightener, products, etc — as well as a couple studios and babysitting area. The front desk is clean and organized, and they sell a cute selection of barre clothing and socks, as well as the best organic juices around.
The instructors are great. Jaime is my favorite, but I can’t complain about any I’ve had so far. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help with anything you need. I often attend the 4:15 class (awesome time by the way!) and see the same faces each time, which shows you just how great the studio is. Not all barre locations have this many regulars, trust me!
All in all I really have zero complaints about Dailey Method. If you’re looking for a barre studio to try, this is it!

Yoga with Doemoni are EXCEPTIONAL. I have been to yoga all over town, frequently and over the past 6 years – from Little Yoga Studio, CorePower, YogaSix, etc. This is by far my favorite class and I look forward to the yoga classes by Doemoni.
They are in the process of expanding their yoga classes, which I’m very excited about! More classes and evening class options may just allow me to become a full time member. What was holding me back was that I like doing a variety of classes, not just yoga, or barre, or pilates. However, now with a variety of yoga classes, along with the already offered barre, it will make more sense to have a membership at just one place. Which is great for me because it’s only 2 blocks away! The barre classes are great. It’s challenging, but yet a very inviting atmosphere and great for all levels.(PS– I love the 6−7pm classes personally FYI Dailey Barre)

This is a workout for alignment. You definitely burn some calories with the arm and leg work — that being said, the workout is not nearly as strenuous as Barre Body in Pacific Beach.
But then, maybe you’re not looking for that. If you’re looking for some mild toning, stretching, and alignment, this place will definitely do the trick. I should also mention that there is a 45-​minute Dailey Interval class (which I didn’t take), which works you harder.
My core definitely felt more aligned after class, and the instructor (Lauren) was excellent. There are 2 well-​appointed studios for workouts, childcare, cubbies, a juice bar — the space is HUGE. And they seem to have a *lot* of fans.
Covered parking is right next door, and only $ 2 for the duration of the class (they sell vouchers at the front desk). That is a super-​deal, considering you are in the heart of downtown, at the corner of Columbia and West B streets.

Heard about free classes in May from one of the instructors (Rebecca) and decided to give this place a try. I had tried a few classes at Barre 3 before in UTC, but wanted to give this studio a try.
Took Daily Barre with Stephanie. I was able to convince my boyfriend to come too. When we first arrived and checked in, the lady at the front desk gave us a quick tour of the place. The studio is small, but I do like that we were immediately welcomed. The studio and bathrooms are very clean and have the essentials you need to get ready for work afterwards.
When class started my boyfriend told the instructor that he has lower back pain, Stephanie did a quick overview of what he can expect from the class and some of the moves we would be doing. She told him she would help him out as needed. When the class started we were lucky to have two additional instructors in the class that we can watch and get tips from, Rebecca conicedentally happen to be one of them.
Stephanie worked us pretty good. I have quite a bit to work up to to build my flexibility. Stephanie walked around quite a bit and adjusted students often. She provided alternate moves for people, especially my boyfriend. It was a benefit having the additional instructors in the class because I was able to compare myself to them and watch them.
After class both Rebecca and Stephanie checked on us and asked how we felt. I wished we could have stayed longer and gotten tips on movement for my boyfriend, but we had to get going.
A few days later, we received a hand written personal note from the studio. Both my boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed. Stephanie included comments about my boyfriend lower back. We were surprised of how much she remembered and how personal it was!
Everything about coming to the Daily Method was impressive! No questions 5 stars for me. Even though this studio is a bit far from my work and home, I am seriously considering membership. They have an awesome staff of trainers, I definitely want to take more classes!

I’ve been looking for a new way to expand my workouts and make friends in SD, so I am so happy to have discovered TDM. I used to workout all of the time but since starting to work full-​time, workouts have been something I’ve been waiting to do on the weekends. TDM has encouraged me to start working out regularly again. Since the studio is just minutes away from my workplace, I’ve been attending approximately 3 classes a week and hope to boost it up to 4 classes. Like the other reviews say, all of the instructors are very welcoming to beginners. I started out with the Daily Basics class, which has been the perfect introduction to barre classes, proper alignment, and the micromovements. Right now, I’m mixing up Daily Basics classes with the Dailey Barre regular classes. So far, I can see and feel more definition in my muscles and all of the classes have been fun and challenging. I’m finishing up my fourth week with TDM and am definitely going to upgrade my membership soon.

The Daily Method San Diego has made a HUGE difference in my body and spirit. I had not tried any barre classes before, but all of the instructors have been so welcoming and are committed to making sure you have proper alignment. I’ve been taking classes for 3 months and have already seen AMAZING progress in my body and energy level. Finally, a workout that I love!

I started taking classes at The Dailey Method when the studio first opened and I’ve been addicted ever since. I’ve tried other barre classes and like how TDM focuses on proper alignment, since that helps you get a better workout. I feel stronger, leaner and more flexible.
I like the class variety of mixed/​express and interval and I love how I can fit classes in before or after work or during lunch. The workouts are physically and mentally challenging. The teachers are fantastic and give great direction and corrections. The studio is clean and the environment is very positive and welcoming. I’m very happy TDM is part of my dailey life!

I have loved doing the Dailey Method throughout my pregnancy! Although I have focused on staying fit my entire life, I had never taken a Dailey Method class or any other barre class prior to my pregnancy. Based on the suggestion of another new mom, I began taking these classes soon after I found out I was pregnant. The classes were great at the beginning and I have found them even more beneficial in my second and third trimester. I was apprehensive throughout my pregnancy about the inevitable aches and pains I heard so much about. Whether it was a back ache, swelling or some other nasty ailment, I really haven’t experienced too many problems. I attribute this directly to participating in classes at Dailey Method.
What’s the harm in giving this program a try? I have enjoyed both the mixed and interval classes and cannot recommend them highly enough. All of the instructors are amazing and very familiar with all of the modifications that need to be made for the pregnant ladies.
For all moms-​to-​be, give the Dailey Method a go, you won’t regret it!

The workouts are rigorous– especially with the interval classes, but totally worth it. There’s definitely a good group of people who attend DM and since class sizes are relatively small, you get to know them quickly. I dislike working out, but I highly recommend this place. Parking isn’t an issue, as there are meters nearby, as well as a parking structure next door. I’m looking forward to the next class!

I love The Dailey Method! I have been a fan of barre classes for a few years now and I have tried most of the studios around San Diego, so I was thrilled when I found out that there was a barre studio downtown that I could walk to.
The workouts are challenging, well-​rounded, and instructors always offer modifications and customizations if you have an injury or need an extra challenge. I love the emphasis on small and controlled movements, proper alignment, and overall health.
I have had almost all of the instructors and I have nothing but positive things to say about everyone who works there. They are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and fun!

I visited Dailey Method San Diego the day after I had a private session with Karly Treacy of SIPhysique, who really pinpointed my alignment and made me realize I wasn’t getting the most out of my workouts.
It was my first Dailey Method, and I don’t know if they are all like this, but I was in awe of their alignment focus. It reinforced my biggest learning/​improvement area. Their mantra is Alignment-​Engagement-​Movement and that’s what they base their corrections on. And it was such an awakening and difference from many other classes I’ve been to that seem to focus on getting through the choreography and to focus more on Movement-​Engagement-​Alignment.
I felt like I got so much more out of this class and successive ones because I keep remembering Alignment-​Engagement-​Movement now.
Also, another revelation — ever wonder why instructors often don’t seem to break a sweat when you’re dying? Alignment and Engagement. That day, the instructor announced that the owner/​instructor, Ashley, was in the class. Ashley is a toned gazelle looking creature. So of course I was staring at her. And as I did, I realized she was the first instructor I have ever seen grimace and look as pained as the rest of us during the workout.
After class, I asked her about it. And she honestly shared that instructors can choose to work or make it look easy. The difference is how hard they push themselves on the alignment and engagement! The heavens parted. I felt so much better that it can be hard for them too!

I’ve been coming here since last July 2012 and all I can say is I’m hooked. I finally found a workout that I really enjoy and look forward to coming. I noticed significant change in my body — I can tell my posture has improved and my core is stronger.
Ashley is really nice and awesome and same with the other instructors as well. The studio is really clean and the staff are very friendly.
