The Forestry Group

So I asked Andy after attempting to call 5 times and never getting a call back… I asked him, can you please call and just let me know if you have any mulch… One way or the other. He called and said, «we don’t have any mulch.» I said ever, and he said never, we are NEVER GOING TO HAVE ANY MULCH… He was so rude and so inconsiderate!!!

If you have allergies — be sure and ask for new mulch — the mulch I agreed to was full of spores that became weird looking fungus growing all winter.

Absolutely not!!!
I feel dirty even giving this business one star, but I guess I have to in order to get this review up…
So why all the hate?
1. Neighbor woke me up at 8:30 am on my morning off, knocking on my door. While I was super grumpy about being roused from sleep on one of my few, coveted mornings to sleep in, he actually ended up doing me a favor. He suggested I move my car because the tree cutters were outside, and they were working right by my parking space. What???
2. I throw on clothes and rush outside to find that leaves and small branches have already fallen on my car. WTF??? As I parked it on the street, I could hear all the debris and crap flying away in the wind generated from my moving car.
3. After I parked, I walked up to the one employee who was on the ground. I asked him who his supervisor was, and he just looked at me in confusion. I have a sneaking suspicion that 1) he only spoke Spanish, or 2) understood what I was saying and was intentionally playing dumb. While I do know Spanish, I was still half asleep and didn’t want to get in a confrontation right there underneath the falling tree branches.
4. I call the maintenance man for our building and asked him about it. He told me that they were supposed to come the day before Christmas Eve, but it was raining. They finally decided to come back on ½/​12, unannounced. In other words, residents were given NO warning.
So what does this all mean?
1. As I said, residents were given no warning. It would have been no problem to move my car the day before HAD I KNOWN. Luckily my apartment is in the back of the complex and away from the street, but I feel really sorry for the residents who were woken up when they started their huge chainsaws at 8am.
2. NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOEVER. *Luckily,* I had moved my car on time, but what if I hadn’t? Or what if they had come during Christmas as originally planned — when I was out of town but my car was still here, and there was no one to move it? Are they going to pay the hundreds of dollars of property damage from the branches falling on my car? The branches that THEY PURPOSEFULLY cut down, and from a bad storm or other natural disaster?
As it is, they had no regard for my property, and acted unconcerned and completely ignorant when I politely tried to ask for more information. Moreover, they let this conversation transpire under the trees where dangerous work was going on… you’d think they’d want to be a little more careful about keeping residents away from dangerous work areas and preventing lawsuits. You’d think that… right?
Apparently The Forestry Group missed the «Do Not Do This» Unit of forestry school. The fact that they list «Certified Arbolist» on their website is laughable — ask any of those employees out there if they are a «Certified Arbolist.» I’m pretty sure that certification entails being able to communicate with your costumers and not staring at them blankly when they try to address concerns about your SAFE AND PROPER handling of the property.
If you’re looking for a place that cares about not damaging property, SAFETY, and ACCOUNTABILITY, stay far, far away.
And thanks, Forestry Group, for leaving all the debris and small branches on my car. Now that I’m awake, maybe I should spend my time off and money getting an unnecessary car wash!

The Forestry Group did a very nice job on all our palm trees. We specifically went with them because they do not spike the trees which we found out was very important.
The guys did a great job and cleaned up very well afterwards. Would definately recommend them to all and we will be using them again in future.

Andy and his company were efficient, on-​time, friendly and within my budget. The considerable tree work they competed at my estate was done very well. They also provided recommendations that made a big difference.
I will use them at my investment properties too.
