Unilocal reviews by David Lujan Who: What: Dinner after a long day in the office When: Evening around 10ish Environment: Casual and calm. Up beat music playing and people talking but quiet enough to be intimate but loud enough to have a spirited convo without disrupting people. How’d they do: Amazing! Prompt professional service. Recommendations: I had the Filet Mignon and it was a shear stroke of genius! Honestly the absolute perfects steak! The steak was over a bed of mash potatoes with a crispy top layer covered by perfect asparagus and a drizzled gravy that complimented so well. If you are looking for an amazing steak I dare you to enter the lobby and try this one. Pros: Ruth’s Chris quality steak and presentation! Cons: It is still a hotel lobby restaurant which imposes some limitations. My tip: Give them a try, if the rest of the menu is half what the steak was you’ll be delightfully satisfied as I was… Cheers

Very nice, clean and bright. Waited only a couple of minutes but staff apologized for wait. Nice people! Good happy hour and delicious house made crisps!

Really terrible bar tender calling everyone dude and bro. A bit short tempered on top of it. That’s strike one and two for me.

Great setting, great service, great food! Had some delicious Stone draft beers including their Smoked Porter and IPA and my waiter offered up some spicy housemade chips… so good! For dinner had the salmon, sautéed spinach and rice… great portions and I was really impressed with the flavor and presentation. I am sure there are some good restaurants nearby but try the Lobby!

Quaint bar /restaurant in the lobby of the Marriott Courtyard in downtown San Diego. In close proximity to the Gas Lamp Quarter where there’s a wealth of nightlife and the streets are filled with a motley of characters, the businessmen, the locals and the urban campers. The food is pretty good and there’s always $ 3 bottled beer specials all day long. Each weekday there’s different happy hour specials … Taco Tuesday with Margarita specials … Wing and you call it Whiskey Wednesday … Etc. I would definitely recommend a visit whether you’re staying at the hotel or not.
