I live walking distance from this restaurant and come here often. The staff is always extremely friendly, even coming to pet my mom’s dog when she was with me. Everything I have tried on the menu is great! I recommend the salmon tacos which are very light and refreshing and the mac n cheese when you want to be sinful. They have a small selection of beers but they are great ones! The overall vibe of this place is wonderful and laid back. I could come watch a basketball game and drink a beer or I could even come here to study. It is busy, but never feels packed. I am so grateful for this place!

Most excellent Hawaiian-style macaroni salad! Light amount of mayonnaise with light onions. The macaroni was perfectly al dente too

This place has great food and excellent service. The short rib tacos are incredible. They have a great selection of draft beers as well. I eat here often. Lola and Craig are friendly, accommodating and funny. My wife and i look forward to seeing them when we go in.

The sandwich was incredible. Pot roast sandwich with mack salad was amazing. The servers were the worst I have ever had. Almost felt like they forgot you were there oh until 20 minutes later they would meander by and vaguely act like they worked there… won’t be coming back.

Clean, fun vibes. I can see it being a great place to grab a beer. But the food isn’t good. I’ve tried the place three times. Got something different each time. Every time I was disappointed. The last time my boyfriend and I were there and the service absolutely sucked. I get it. Places get short handed. But we sat there with empty cups and dirty plates and plenty of servers walked by and nobody asked if we were good or to take the dirty plates away. Yes food was still on the plates but we had our crumpled napkins on the plate as well. Not to mention, it took 45 min for the pork coconut fried rice and the pork breakfast burrito to come out. 45 min!!! Server didn’t say sorry for the wait or anything.

We’ve always liked the beers on tap, and the appetizers(particularly the wings and poppers, which we’ll miss), but aside from Lola, the manager/bartender(she’s always been fantastic), the service is generally OK, at best. They claim to be dog-friendly, but my husband and I brought our dog there tonight for the first time, and were asked to leave because our dog was barking. We were in their outdoor area where dogs are supposedly welcome, and our little guy was barking, but not excessively. This is not the first restaurant he’s been in — we had no problem at Bare Back or the Taproom — bars who claim to be, and actually are, dog-friendly establishments. The manager waited until we finished our apps, and proceeded to order entrees, to send the waitress back out, only to ask us to leave and take our entrees to go. I found it very nervy that they even suggested we take the food to go, less than two minutes after we ordered it. I politely informed the waitress that we had no interest in taking our food with us after being kicked out. Our problem is the way in which this minor issue was handled. A warning would have been appreciated. Craig Sewell, the manager, used the term«very dog-friendly,» a claim he has no business using, after our experience. In the restaurant business, if someone is being asked to leave, the least that someone can expect, is a visit from the manager; I had to ask to speak with him. I found Craig condescending and insincere. I told him, and I will tell you, it will be hard for me to return to the Promiscuous Fork after the unprofessional manner in which this issue was addressed. As it turns out, he’s the owner, which makes our decision to never return, even easier.

I am giving The Promiscuous Fork 5 Stars based on the Smoked Meatloaf sandwich alone. It was the best damned sandwich I’ve ever had and that’s not an overstatement. I just happened to see it on the specials board and gave it a try. Too bad it is not one of their regular menu items… maybe after this post it will be. I was in the mood for something«homey», substantial and satisfying. This sandwich delivered and I raved about it to my family and asked the waitress to tell the guys in the kitchen how impressed I was. The Smoked Meatloaf sandwich is served on a nice French roll, the meatloaf is thick, moist and tastes as advertised(smoked, BBQ) it is layered with baby arugula, onion and tomato and has an awesome horseradish sauce that puts it over the top. I highly recommend this place and intend to come back and try other menu items.

Love the food and prices here. My favorite is the lamb chop and hamburger sliders. Very nice atmosphere and nice wine selection.

This was my first experience with The Promiscuous Fork. I ordered for four, along with some wings to share. The food was varied and filling. However, I did use take out. When I arrived home. One side was not included. Can never understand how this happens. A customer is usually in a hurried situation with pick up. They do not usually have to open each container and check for the correct order. But I guess at The Promiscuous Fork you should. I’m sure if I call to let them know. They would have given another side. However, It’s not that close and had to drive. Not worth my time.

Just ordered food to go and it was delicious! Got the chicken Cesar salad and the dressing has a hint of lemon. The Mac and cheese was also bomb! Nice spot, reasonable prices. :)

4 stars for service The food here is interesting a different. The décor is awesome and the patio allows dogs. I also enjoy their flavored mimosas! Delicious and not just cheap champagne and oj.

I’ve been to the Promiscuous Fork three times now and every time the experience was alright. The food tastes great, it’s just nothing that stands out for me to continue going back for. A lot of restaurants in PB are known for something, and I can’t quite put my finger on what Promiscuous Fork’s is. I do like the inside, the layout, the outdoor seating, big TVs, and that you can see the chefs cooking. Overall I really like the atmosphere. It’s worth a try, let me know if you find something tasty here and I’ll go and try it!

I wish I could do 3.5 because I could see the potential, and liked the food but was a bit disappointed. My last experience with promiscuous fork in La Jolla was superb so we’ve been excited to go to the new location after watching it be built, and I think the anticipation led to a bit of a let down. The inside is cool, the tables are unique, there are several TVs and we had a really cool booth– we were pumped. We were there for a small birthday dinner for a friend, and they had no bacon(WHAT?!) and no dessert. None. Half our party was going to have the BBLT which sounded delicious– no go. I had the portobello burger and the habanero pesto was delicious– but the side of red potatoes that sounded good and was really good but the serving was minuscule(maybe one really small baby red potato diced up and fried/sauteed). I also had the Caesar salad with the pepper dressing which was the PERFECT amount of spicy– Yummy! My wife had the Caprese sandwich and said it was delicious(I didn’t get any which means it was probably very good). I will also say, my friends burger looked good, was cooked to the ordered temperature, and my buddy said that the Surf and Turf grilled cheese sandwich was probably the best he’d ever had. Based on that, I’d recommend it, he was really thrilled. All in all, I was a bit bummed. I will go back and give it another shot because I saw flashes of what could have been. Looking back on it, the servings of red potatoes may have been remedied if I’d simply asked, and the lack of dessert led us to Hammond’s ice cream which was DELICIOUS– so it turned out ok. Mixed review, but I’ll go back and they definitely have a creative eye for delicious based on what I’ve seen in La Jolla, so I’d recommend trying it based on that!

I love this location of the Promiscuous Fork. The one in la Jolla is great be so small. This one is much larger and you can go there with larger groups. FOOD: The food at both locations is great. My favorite if you’re being healthy is the La Jolla plate and the salmon tacos. If you don’t care about calories go for the quesadilla or burger(both amazing!). Everyone who works there is really nice and the food comes out fast. Like I said, this location is spacious and even has outdoor seating.

Promiscuous Fork has its good points and it’s bad points. The restaurant is spacious and has an open concept, which makes it feel super comfortable and inviting. It’s not fancy, which the name kind of implies. I expected something completely different with that name. Like, oh I don’t know… A more sophisticated system? It’s not. The ordering system is walk up to the counter and order and pay. There’s a tip jar, as there usually is at most restaurants that work this way. I always feel it’s assuming of restaurants to expect a tip before you’ve even tried the food. I like to tip after I’ve eaten so I can tip accordingly on the quality of the food, as well as the service. However, at some restaurants, the order takers will give you«the stare» until you drop that tip in ahead of time, and at Promiscuous Fork, they do the stare. I dropped my tip in the jar. After placing your order, the order taker will give you a number to place on your table, then a long time later, your food is brought out to you by someone who doesn’t look like they took a shower that morning. I’m not sure why there is no wait staff at this restaurant, as there certainly needs to be for the price point at Promiscuous Fork. I can’t see this as a good date nite place because of this. If you are spending $ 30+, you should expect a waiter or waitress. There were certainly many line cooks in back(at least 5 in an empty restaurant) that we could see through the glass who were just standing around, watching customers, and yucking it up. We then found a table, and waited approximately 20 minutes for two sandwiches, the Surf and Turf Grilled Cheese, which has cheese, crab, and pastrami. THEFOOD: Grilled Cheese Surf and Turf — Filled with crab meat(probably from a can) and thick pastrami chunks riddled with fat, along with very little cheese. Uninspired. I ordered the red skin potatoes as my side, and my dining partner had pasta salad. My potatoes were dry, cold, overcooked and burnt. They had been reheated many times. The pasta salad was cold as well. At least the pasta was fairly good. I can understand why the sides were cold; nobody cared or had pride in what came out of that kitchen. We didn’t eat but half the sandwiches and hardly any of the unappealing sides. Waste of money. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, because Promiscuous Fork just does not deliver the goods for the price.

This place is pretty cool. It’s small, the décor hipster, the staff great, and the prices reasonable enough. What I ordered: Short Rip Tacos — They are tasty, fresh, and interesting in composition. but nothing I would run home to Mom about. Bacon Jalapeño Poppers — This was hands down my favorite part of our meal. They are so, so damn good. I would have ordered two of these instead of the tacos had I known! Crab Salad Grilled Cheese Sandwich thingy — Ok so I didn’t love this, or even really like it, but my friend just LOVES this sandwich so I got it along with her. I don’t know, it’s just not my cup of tea but she still swears by it. Side note: Their coconut rice is fresh and delicious. Such a bright side item. Loved it! I also really liked their side potatoes as well! Final Verdict: All and all I’d be happy to come back. It was tasty enough and they had a ton of items I’d be very interested to give a whirl.

I really enjoy the Promiscuous Fork, especially since it’s one of few dining options in my hood. The Hippy Burger is just plain delicious. Portobello mushroom, black bean paste, and a habanero spread between two pieces of dark bread. Z-Z-Zesty zing! A great vegetarian«burger,» one large enough for two to split. I usually pass on the accompanying sides, opting to forgo the macaroni salad and instead get the coconut-jalapeño rice for the gf to put on top of her Caesar Salad with the green chili sauce. Such tasty flavor combinations! The Forkin’ Chicken Sandwich, basic Hamburger and BBBLT are satisfactory items too(not enough bacon to merit all the extra Bs in the BBBLTIMO). They have an excellent draft beer selection(i.e. Cali Creamin’ on Nitro), but love, LOVE that Frank Family wines are offered! There’s casual Mexican-inspired furniture indoors and a patio area featuring strung lights and communal seating that welcomes dogs. After a half dozen visits, it’s time to try out happy hour!

Last night on Friday, June 19 my husband, my girlfriend and I choose to visit this establishment as we heard they had decent food and good beer choices. The place looks nice, its clean and the menu size is just right. You come up to the counter, you order and pick up a number to put on your table. We ordered when we got there, at 7:45 and got a pitcher of Grapefruit Sculpin. Our order was simple: carnitas quesadilla, mac and cheese with short-rib which was on special and caesar salad with chicken. We were sitting for about 45 minutes when we realized, we have been waiting for food for quite a while and the people sitting next to us already got their order(burger and the special mac & cheese) but they came and ordered LATER than us. After few more minutes my husband got up and went to the counter asking about our food and explaining that it has been already an hour since we ordered. Instead of apologies and considerations he got a bad attitude from the store manager who was saying that one hour was a normal waiting time on a Friday night and they are making everything from scratch… GREAT but people ordering behind us got food ahead of us(their meals didn’t require more cooking than ours)…so an hour for what we ordered was definitely too long. The store manager was suggesting she would bring out«the chef» to talk to us and I was thinking why? Arent you the store manager to deal on the frontline of the customer service? I got myself through college working as a waitress for 5 years and I have expectations. I know whats right and what is not. I RECOMMENDADJUSTYOURATTITUDEACCORDINGLY ! The funny part was that within seconds of the complaint we started getting the food, one by one(nope, not all together). First the salad with chicken showed up, after few minutes quesadilla showed up, and then, after few minutes we got the mac and cheese… COLD. Yep, mac & cheese wasn’t even warm, it was COLD. I told the store manager that it was cold, she took it and I said«forget about it» we dont want it anymore. Seriously? I have been waiting for over an hour to get COLD mac and cheese that arrived to our table as the last meal. The store manager, who called herself Lola was S*¥T out of luck that evening… as another adjacent table complained about the mac & cheese and she was also getting attitude from the kitchen. The funny part is that the people that got their food ahead of us left their mac & cheese almost untouched. The caesar salad was good and so was the quesadilla… grapefruit sculpin is always awesome, but the rest of the experience was NEGATIVE! It could have been cured with kind responses, genuine and immediate apologies. It could have been cured by offering a desert or a pint of beer for free… whatever. Some of those businesses have no clue how to be successful and stay in business. We will not be back and I wish I had a GOOD review to offer instead of BAD… One last comment: the bathroom walls are full of porn cartoons which are very funny, but probably not very smart considering people maybe coming with kids and I saw few kids last night. Even though the cartoons are brilliant and I loved them, just thinking about others who may find it offensive made me think what a STUPIDCONCEPT. Inconsiderate. Someone immature must be running this business. Lastly, I was hoping to get a mature response and apologies from from the owner/manager but instead he chose to blame the situation on my husband. Please check the screenshot of his personal message to me. OMG
