Tony is AMAZING! I work down the street from his cart, and as soon as I tried his coffee, I totally ditched the Starbucks next to my work. A friend introduced me to his cart and his Mexican mocha, which is so good, and what I regularly get. I’m also a big fan of his white mocha, «Red Velvet» mocha, iced dirty chai, and even his English breakfast. His drinks are WAYYY better(and cheaper!) than Starbucks. Tony knows his customers by name, always plays good music, and he chats and jokes with you while preparing your coffee. He has new and funny newspaper clippings every morning that you can read while waiting. One of his customers has the cutest pup, Rusty, and he always hangs out there. I love it. Tony only accepts cash, so make sure to have some on you when you visit him. Just recently, Tony joined social media. Follow him and check in on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. His usernames are posted on his cart. Overall, a great experience, and a great start to your day!

Stopped by today after reading some favorable reviews and seeing the unassuming cart on our walk downtown. Tony has the warmest personality and he made us two absolutely delicious beverages on a chilly San Diego morning. I ordered a vanilla latte which was delightfully creamy and just sweet enough. We also ordered a «milky way latte» which was a combo of chocolate and caramel– I didn’t try it but was told it was also very tasty! Tony took the time to visit with me while he made my beverages(and I saw him do the same with several other customers) and I found him to be genuine and so personable. Do yourself a huge favor and skip Starbucks if you find yourself on Broadway(in front of the old YMCA building)!

Tony is awesome and his coffee is top notch. Piping hot and the best Americano I’ve had, a must for any coffee aficionado.

Sidewalk coffee cart during the day on Broadway. Best cappuccinos ever. Operated by tony who is super friendly. Excellent experience! He said he’d been making coffee for over 20 years! Just a short walk from the Westin hotel

Tony knew exactly the kind of coffee I was looking for and was even willing to make me the cup on Tony credit(he does cash only so makes up for it by giving you the benefit of the doubt that you will come back with cash). It was so good I went back for more and with cash in hand for the first cup he made me, real nice guy and has the ability to turn your day around. Highly recommended.

Passed by Tony’s yesterday and ordered some Espresso Macchiatos. Needless to say they were perfect. Tony knows a lot about the city and recommended some places for us to walk to. Loved the place so much we passed by today around 1:00PM but he was not there. Really missing that coffee now!

The ultimate for people that love coffee. This dude can make a coffee like no other. If you are lil me, sometimes you are a bit cranky before you get coffee in the morning, and this guy’s attitude with help take that edge off of pre-coffee morning attitude, and literally change the way your day is starting. You want a coffee that will kick your butt into shape, try the Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

Tony is the man! A fun accidental find on my visit to Sam Diego! I happened to park on the street one night, and much too my excitement in the morning… there was a gourmet coffee stand five feet from my car! Tony not only walked me through my order, learning what I do and don’t like, made me an awesome flat white, but also gave me general tips about the city, parking, etc what a guy! A must visit!

This is the ONLY coffee spot where I trust the barista more than I trust my own taste. Tony knows his iced drinks… & his sports.

If I could give 6 stars I would. The coffee was well done, nice bold flavor. Tony’s service was second to none. When we realized we didn’t have cash he told us to pay him later. His smile is infectious. This is how coffee and service should be done!

Tony was chatty and happy with a big smile. I got a very good latte that had a mellow flavor with a subtle hint of burnt sugar. The coffee was low-to-medium strength, so you may want to ask for an extra shot. Great location, great experience, lots of people gathered around the cart chatting.

CHECKOUTTHISAWESOMENEWYORKSTYLECOFFEECART– The owner, Tony, has a friendly San Diego smile and personality though! I’ve been walking by this place for 2 months now… And he almost always has a line and I didn’t want to wait. I am anti-Starbucks but will go to Coffee bean and tea-leaf or another large chain if that’s all their is… But those places are ridiculously expensive! $ 5.00 for a good drink or a chai tea! Crazy! I had been going to 7 eleven since its so dirt cheap but their coffee is so low quality and it was making me sick. I prefer independent coffee shops. The drinks are usually better, cheaper and i like supporting small businesses. Today I was so excited because I saw Tony’s Coffee Cart had no one waiting! this was finally my chance to give this cute little coffee cart a try. For a delicious Mexican Mocha w/Soy milk it only cost me $ 2.75 for 12 oz! I brought my own cup so I got a 25⁄50 cent discount. I will definitely be a regular customer here. Fyi he is only there in the mornings in front of the 500 West Hotel/Hostel. Enjoy!

I Ike coffee carts. If I am looking for coffee and there is a cart nearby, I’ll go there over just about any other place nearby. MEXICANMOCHA I think there was a little too much powder so I had to add some more cream to the mocha. Otherwise it was delicious, bold and strong. Tony was outside the Westin on 400 Broadway. I went to put more money in the meter at 8 am and there was already a nice little line of regulars waiting for their morning dose of caffiene.

Shit, all I get here is coffee. I’m usually in a hurry, and honestly the coffee ain’t so good I’ll wait if there’s a line. The 7⁄11 is a skip north. But Tony is the shit, so I go when I can.

«Where in the World is Tony San Diego?»(Note spoof borrowed from Carmen San Diego). I’ve been at Tony’s coffee cart about 3 times already — it’s located around the corner of the 500 West Hotel(outside of the building). I have yet to meet this Tony fella. It seems that I meet some other ‘guy’ behind the counter that looks like Tony and says that the other guy is Tony. A plain, regular small coffee will only set you back $ 1.50. This, IMHO, is probably just as good(actually better) as a Starbucks tall coffee. I go here when I want to take my God given and State/Federally mandated ‘extended’ 15-minute coffee break from my stressful work environment. It gets to be a drag when you have to clean mouse balls and change mouse pads for people in the office day-in and day out.(I’m an under-paid IT administrative assistant by profession). I actually walked five blocks to Tony’s just to break the routine of my office admin job. I also come here because I like to check out the young, hot female attorney types all dressed up in their sexy business suits across the street. I do enjoy my fair share of eye candy — period. However, it can also turn into Grand Central«Cougar» Station on certain days. My favorite is the Americano with a single shot. This is Viagara for your heart — please be careful and enjoy! I personally enjoy my Tony’s coffee with a Tommy Pastrami halfer sandwich! It makes for such a great combo! The only complaint I have is that the coffee is served so freakin’ hot that the coffee sleeve doesn’t do it any justice, and that the silly thing keeps slipping off like some cheap, two-centavo condom. NOTE: If you need to «deuce,» you will need to use the 500 West Hotel’s bano located in the first floor lobby. Please sign-in as a ‘visitor’ at the front counter before you enter the bano facilities — that’s the policy. Believe me, I had to use el bano there once after eating Lucy’s taco.
