Train of Thought

Just so every know’s Train of Thought has moved, I was amazed by all the good talent, wont lie there are a couple of bad ones. For five dollars I have seen better performances then shows I’ve paid 20.00 for, best thing of all you feel the support, from the host, to the guest and other act’s performing, if your looking for somewhere to get your feet wet and break the ice this is perfect, if your looking for positive energy, perfect, if your looking to laugh you guessed perfect, all styles of everything so just be open minded to anything, Train of Thought, for those who love to train there brain.

This is my second home. I’ve received nothing but love here. Great host (Gill Sotu) and a great DJ who actually SPINS! DJ RedLite, NO GAME! You’ll have to go to find out what that’s all about. One lincoln and you’re set. Come every Tuesday and see the talent SD has to offer.

If you love live music you need to check out Train of Thought. I’ve been to a handful of open mics in SD and LA and TOT has impressed me the most by far. I’ve seen quite a few amazing performances there. From the host to DJ Red Light, TOT is a top notch. Everyone the works at TOT makes you feel welcomed and the crowd is very encouraging and supportive towards the performers. Hell I feel inspired to perform every time I go.

It’s that time of year. Join Train of Thought for their 3^rd year anniversary at the Queen Bee’s. They are going to have the top talent in San Diego and
beyond. 3 years of spoken truth. 3 years of electric voices cutting through stage lights into our souls, 3 years! And the Train pushes on! Hip Hop on board to help kick off the year right.
Back by popular demand is featured artist HBO Def Jam Poet PAUL MABON.
By embracing the uniqueness of his gift Paul developed theatrical and interactive skills that allow audiences to feel as though they are a part of his
poems as they happen. Though his poetry style is primarily comedic, Paul’s theatrical background allows for dramatic range as well. Poetically, he is most proud of being chosen to perform in Season V of the HBO television show Russell Simmons presents Def Poetry.
Over the years Paul has garnered numerous awards, competing nationally in poetry slams and on poetry slam teams. He has hosted three successful poetry readings in Chicago, Memphis and Los Angeles and has opened for Grammy Award winning artists Common and Talib Kweli.
Today, Paul continues perform his poetry, act and be commissioned nationally
and internationally to showcase his abilities in commercials, touring
theater companies, corporate conventions, universities, colleges,
private events, high schools and grade schools… because it’s fun
«Train of Thought» is not just an open mic night, we like to think of it as an open mic experience. Anyone and everyone is free to step up to our mic, which means you never know what kind of show its going to be.
Comedians, poets, hip-​hop mc’s, writers, musicians, beat boxers, rappers, singers, and… dreamers; they could all be in the mix on any given night.
This is a place to be heard. From beginners to experienced performers, we have the mic here for you. Come hone your skills.

this is one of the best, if not, THE best open mic in san diego. i’ve been coming to this open mic for a long time and not only has it helped me dive into my writing even more but at the end of every show, i am inspired. and the word «audience» is an understatement. it’s more of a family and open to everyone and anyone. it is the best $ 5 you’ll spend all week.

Awesome open mic venue. Host was awesome… audience was cool… the vibe was chill… and the experience was amazing. There are couches, tables and chairs to sit at or you can stand.

This place is like — open mic meets a variety show. Everybody there is friendly and its a great place to express your talents, thoughts and spoken word skills!

This is one of THE freshest Open Mic’s in San Diego. Good people, great venue… and i must say, an amazing host!
