This park is a hidden gem in PQ, especially for parents of small children. If your child is addicted to swings and you want to die when they ask you to push them for a straight hour like my best mommy friend… then you will love this park bc it does not have swings. What it does have is the newest, most modern playground features in the PQ area, a «fire truck», a «choo choo» whistle, cool spinning climbing features, a great number and variety of slides — tiny, small, medium, straight, curvy –anything you could want in a slide. It has a little sand, but you can stay completely out of the sand if you wish, there are activities for children of all ages, both my 1 and 4 year old enjoy this park equally and with a low amount of danger zones that rid me with anxiety… which is kind of rare. Amazeballs: Shady, has benches, tables and is NEVER busy. Bummer: bathroom is not the closest, which is no fun for a small recently potty trained child with a 911 bladder, but whatever– win some, lose some.

For the longest time I had seen this park from the 56 on my way home. I finally found this park and am extremely happy I did. It has a huge baseball field in the back, open basketball court all of the time and tons of parking. Overall the park is very clean, and everyone is very respectful of the area. It is a great place to take your dog and walk around the park!

The park is great but the playgrounds where i would have liked to take my daughter had broken glass and spoons and forks in the sand and alot of pine needles from the trees all of which are really sharp on your feet. Unfortunately at this time the only thing i really would use this park as now is to take her to the playgrounds… no more visits here for a while:(

Views West is a hidden park within Rancho Penasquitos, sandwiched between PQ Blvd, Salmon River and the 56 Freeway. If you’ve never been here, it may be a little difficult to find your first time. This really isn’t so much a park but rather a sport complex of sorts. The complex includes the following: On the lower level there is a softball field which includes plenty of open grass. There is also a small park on the South end for the kids and a gazebo that the city will reserve for parties. The upper level includes basketball courts(non lit), a baseball field(lit) and a football field. It also has a sidewalk that surrounds the upper fields that plenty of people take their dogs for walks. Parking is ample for normal use however in the fall it is taken over by football teams and parking is tough to find and difficult to get in and out.
