This is the third time I’ve had an encounter with the manager, Phil and he is very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. It’s in walking distance so that’s the only reason I go.

Every time I walk in and remember why I hate shopping here. Other then the high prices, they have long lines for days!!! It never fails! Last time I go here!

The chick working in Starbucks is extremely rude. Sorry to Vons for putting the low rating but there isn’t a separate page for this Starbucks. They should also have more than one person working in this booth to avoid the long line & attitude from this person…

The one star is for the customers who shop there. You guys should look at the customers that shop there. They are dirty, smelly, crap in the aisles, on drugs, with hookers outside being picked up by their John’s or Pimps. Don’t blame the managers or employees! I’ve always found them to be very helpful with what they have to deal with on a daily basis from the unsavory clientele. I’m sometimes afraid of the «customers» I see shopping there!!!

Goddammit, the store manager needs a lobotomy.
This place has lines that rival Disneyland from 5−7pm on weekdays. They never hire more people. I personally watched a manager ordering a Starbucks while the lines were 30 people deep. WTF.

I just moved to this area and was terrified of walking in after reading these reviews… I finally went In and honestly it’s really nice! Very clean, kind of fancy. The cashiers have all been nice to me when I’ve checked out. The desserts are good. Wish they had that 5 $ multiple cookie mix like in other stores. But overall it’s a nice vons if you ignore the hobos and crack addicts chillin outside.

This is the second time now that the staff (including managerial) has cost me money.
I rented a movie from redbox and went to pick it up at Vons and the machine froze while logged into my account, I asked for help and after 15 minutes of waiting for anyone… no one came.
I went to return the DVD and the machine was off. I was passed on from person to person where I think I ended up being sent to the manager, I told him the machine was off and that I was sent to him to ask him to help me by his staff and he said «ok»… I wait 15 mins and in that time watch him walk around and take on other tasks, acknowledge I am there but ignore me.
I now have to pay another day for this rental as no one is competent enough to switch their own machines on.
rude. rude. rude.
three other customers in that time wanted to use the machine but walked away. they are turning away customers with their lack of people skills and general rudeness.
if you can’t handle working with people, don’t do that job.

It’s always disappointing when brands live down to people’s expectations of them. Parking is terrible. I’ve yet to go when there isn’t riffraff in front and around the entrance. Understocked shelves, not the cleanest and friendly as some may be, very slow cashiers. I’ll go here by foot when I need 1 – 3 items — otherwise, I’m with the majority of my neighborhood on heading to Hillcrest for groceries.

I mean it’s a Von’s what do people expect?
Parking isn’t good, usually is busy. Produce was well stocked and they have the usual stuff. Nothing shines about it but again, what are people really expecting?
Staff was nice and polite. Which was impressive considering the amount of people they deal with on the regular.

Not impressed with this place especially the checkers. For me it’s the only large grocery store nearby but I typically avoid it and go to a few different small shops or order through PrimeNow. Most other Vons stores are much cleaner and more pleasant. But I’d really like to be proved wrong since it’s so convenient!

Overpriced, about 40% compared to Walmart, a ripoff for a National chain supermarket. Compare milk, juice, fruit, soap, vegetables, non-​prescription medicines, etc.

The store is usually well-​stocked and it’s easy to find everything. The staff is also very friendly. The pharmacy is not open too late, and there are always LONGGGG lines at the cashier!

I have really come to love this quirky shthole over the years. It’s not as horrible as everyone says. I have never seen a crack hoe in the bathroom but I make sure I do not need to use the restroom when I go. The thing I love most is they hire handicapped people. It gives them a chance to feel and actually be productive in society. At first I was a bit disturbed because the store already has an «interesting» customer base already and the handicapped workers add to a whole twilight zone effect. There is always someone or something interesting to see there. If I was bored and wanted to people watch this is your place for sure.
The store itself has a pretty decent organics section. I have seen way worse organics in sprouts. I did go off on the floral dept 2 months after Christmas for not having birthday balloons and only CHRISTMAS balloons in February (WT total F). But after I dumped the whole balloon tree into the floral kiosk in a drunken rage, and the other workers comically helping me get a birthday balloon, well I think they either fired the floral lady or made her aware that we are AWARE… anyway things seem to be looking good in floral now.
They need more jesus candles and better parking sometimes that is annoying.
It’s not dirty the people that go in are. It’s always an interesting experience and I like it.

Ugh! The parking lot is small and is always a mess, I’ve been hit twice! The interior itself is just dirty, dirty, DIRTY! The selection is really bad and they are often out of stock. With a Haagens, Sprouts, and other local grocery stores nearby for overall better experience, you can easily skip over this Vons.

Slowly growing on me. Used to despise coming here due to the over medicated customers walking around this place like a scene out of The Walking Dead. I come to Vons regularly now due to my favorite grocery store got bought out and Von’s location. They’ve gotten much better over the last year.
This is now my main grocery store and I’m content with that. There’s nothing they can do about their patrons. They just need to have more check out lanes open around dinner time. I’ve been sitting in outrageous lines the last dozen times and watch an over staffed security guys in front acting as greeters having a little too much fun doing nothing. Everything else is decent for what it is. There is no wow factor anywhere. Standard run of the mills Vons.

I know, those bad reviews are all true about the 24 hour Vons. There are huge lines, things are overpriced unless you get a weekly deal, and the people working are are rude.
The only thing that triggered me to gave the 5-​stars is because of FARHAT!
He’s such a nice guy with heart for the flow of the store. If something is out of stock,
he will make sure you’ll get it unlike other associates who say that they don’t have any in the back.
Also, his attitude and flexible work he does should get rewarded more.
I think deserves a huge raise, and get promoted.
Vons should know what they have, and make sure they don’t lose it by compensating their good workers.

Wow! Who the hell is runnin this store?!
Like CVS over on North Park Way, they seriously need to knock this friggin place down and build something fresh! Whoever is running this store, should immediately be ‘relieved’ of their duties, along with about half of the cashiers. What? You want me to BS you and tell you this is a great store? You crazy! This vons… is one big filled up dumpster, and its overflowing into the parking lot too.
That real enough for ya Von?

Vons… STOP selling inedible frozen bakery goods!
Just because it is reduced in price, does not mean that it is edible and worth the money spent! Scones, cakes, and lemon meringue pies!
I thought your $ 5.00 lemon meringue pie sale was a good deal, (normally $ 10).
It was terrible inedible!
Seriously…just stop it!

Your checkout line is prooobably going to be very long.
The items you came to get are prooobably not going to be on sale.
… and did you park your car in the parking lot? It’s prooobably going to get pinned in on the sides by two scrapers.

DO NOT SHOP HERE PERIOD, there are better places. Wegman’s, Sprouts, Ralphs
this place is awful
I didn’t think it was possible but this place has become even more awful despite adding an amazing organic vegetable and fruit section. The golden beets there are very, very good and organic. However, it’s dirty, it’s unorganized, the people who shop there are rude and stressed out. The cashiers are even ruder and get pissed off when they discover that you have your own shopping bags.
This place needs to go away and become a Whole Foods or better yet a Sprouts since the one on Park is ridiculously over packed.
There is a survey on my receipt you can bet that I am going to take it. Vons, get rid of this ugly stepsister of a grocery store. The one on Washington is 100 percent better.
By the way, the so called wine section was about 75% under stocked.
