Not much going on here. Not much of a selection as far as beer goes. Some standard liquor available here like Jim Beam, etc. It’s a convenient store w/random things available. No AC, just a fan blowing. Not much here… just next door to Pappalecco so that’s the only good thing.

I went here recently for a few items. I asked the cashier if there was a minimum to use a credit card, and he said«No.» He then proceeded to add a fifty cent fee to my total, without saying anything first. Not cool.

We are in bad need of a large market in Little Italy. But we do have some smaller mom and pop corner stores. Sam is a very friendly owner, and you really should pop in at night when he is burning incense and rippin on his sitar. He has the best beer selection outside of Bottlecraft, and he really is convenient. Maybe everything isnt in perfect order, and he is anything but corporate. But when you need a bottle of liquor, a snack, eggs, milk or a sixer, this place is really«convenient».

A girl friend of mine schooled me the other day on what a «Skinny Bitch» is, and she wasn’t referring to the average patron of Stingaree. Apparently it’s also a drink with vodka, water, and lime and this spot is one of only two places in Little Italy that one can get the main ingredient for it. If you’re looking for hard alcohol in the area you’re limited to either Rite Aid and West Cedar Market. Their spirits selection is pretty good and it’s extremely clean inside with better beer choices than all of the 7−11s around the area. They’re supposed to start doing deli sandwiches, but for now food is limited to canned goods and potato chips. The hours fluctuate based on how busy they get so don’t bank on being able to pick up a bottle at all hours of the night. It’s about a 3 for a corner store, but given the fact that they’re the only game in town they get an extra star. Oh yeah, and Allen is the man… He also works at the 7 – 11 closest to my pad.

I really like this little market! Sam is awesome. The only thing I do not like is them charging you fees to use credit cards!

If you need beer, wine, smokes or a random roll of TP go see Sam!!! He can fill you in the neighborhood gossip while you’re there. He’s right between Pappalecco gelato and Staion boutique. If it’s a weeknight, and you’re lucky, he’s probably in the back playing the Sitar. That is a treat! And you can get a «Boneless Chicken» for under $ 1.(an egg) — he’s got a sense of humor too. Oh there’s an ATM in there too.
