Locals only — also known as Inspiration Point to some, but White Deer Park is the most appropriate title. In the 60’s a little white deer named Lucy bailed out of the zoo and made the area around this park in Mission Hills her home for 10 years — much to the delight of nearby neighbors. Lucy began to wander close to the 8, and out of fear for her well being the neighbors called for assistance from Animal Control. The tranquilizer dart didn’t agree with Lucy somehow, and she never woke. A monument was erected, and currently stands atop this scenic, private, and gorgeous park. There are only two ways in or out, one requires hopping a fence and the other — taking an hike. Should you find the park, please be quiet and respectful of the neighbors & the area. «Bliss in solitude beneath this tree. Formless, silent, spirit free –A Friend»
