I had to write this review as soon as possible. I shopped at this store yesterday(convenient location, since I was already at the plaza). The vegetables were not fresh, it was a chore picking out a few good ones from the bunch, with the exception of the curry leaves. I also realized after I got home that the mangoes were bad, in spite of how they look, and I had bought a box. There were also some spices and snacks that when opened, tasted like they had gone bad, so I checked the dates and although they were not past expiration, they were pretty old. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, compared to shopping at the indian store a few blocks away. I feel they are selling left over stuff from the previous owner or left over stock from some other place. I will not be going back and strongly recommend that you keep away.

Be very careful and check the expiration date of items — Found frozen foods that had been expired since 2012 and the employees were completely unaware of this! Yuck!

My husband ran in to buy me a drink and there was another family behind him trying to purchase some milk. They stood at the check out for several minutes, the employees knew they were there & ready to make their purchases. Someone from the other family asked if everything was free today or if they would be helped soon. The employees didn’t even acknowledge the woman. Everyone ended up putting the items up and leaving the store since the employees wouldn’t respond. Interesting coincidence that my husband and the other customers were white. Racist business. I am absolutely disgusted.

this is one of my favorite grocery stores in «little india». i always grab my masalas and daals from here, and will find my rare veggies for subzi’s frequently here like mini eggplants, okra, whole radish. it is clean, and they are helpful if you need it. san diego lacks the size of LA or SF or Chicago«little india», but that is what makes it so quaint and special I feel.

This store used to be called Bomby Bazaar and I have seen that name taken out and this name in, so I would assume they are under new management. However, the interior and decoration and products seem to be the same type. I don’t go here for fruits and veggies since I never find them to be very fresh. I come here for beauty products, like hair oils, ayurvedic toothpaste neem based and also a product that I like but many Indians don’t: the beauty crème Fair and Lovely. I simply love how soft leaves my skin and the smell of it, plus is very cheap. Besides, since I am not Indian, almost every product has the ‘exotic’ component of new discovery, whatever exotic means. Customer service is not their best asset, but I like that they keep the customers inform about different events of the diverse Indian states(like picnics, parties, music, etc) at the main door. So for me is also a source of alternative entertainment news.
