Absolutely in love with this place ! The prices are decent, but there are so many amazing things you can find there ! If you are looking to decorate your home, you can literally find everything there ! I will definitely be going back for center pieces for my living room

I hope the design novices of the world continue to flock to peer 2, ICKea, and Bloodbath and Beyond, so that I may have the Windmill Thrift Store all to myself. You’re an absolute fibbertigibbet if you love antiques and don’t stop here regularly. Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, Windmill’s on my mind every day. CASH only, so please don’t bring enough $$$ that I may buy everything. My Dahl Haus never looked so loverly.

Despite its small size, this thrift store is full of gems. I found so many wonderfully weird framed photos(two rich gay men with dogs and one of a man cleaning his rifle) and vintage postcards. Lots of kitschy embroidered mushrooms, cat paintings, etc. In the very back there is a lot of great period furniture– sort of upset we already went to IKEA! Clothing selection is small, but handbags were great. Husband found some nice VHS tapes for our collection as well. Also, everything turned out to cost half of what we thought it would. This was a nice surprise, because the tags seemed overpriced. This place has no fans or airflow, so wear light clothing if you want to rummage for a while.

update– The North Park location closed(north park is getting too big for it’s britches). Anyhow City Heights is now the sole location for the Windmill Thrift shop. Recently purchased a crendeza on sale for $ 99! And they delivered it to us! I love this place!

This store was so cute! I love shabby chic and other eclectic design schemes and I tend to(oh my, my design teacher would have a fit if, she knew) cross over and merge themes. So I have an Indian/country/shabbychic fusion going on since, my apartment has an open floor plan for the kitchen, living room and dinning areas everything is merging onto/into each other. It is so hard to find furniture to fit. But, thrift stores all ways have something that will work. I work during the week and have the weekends off Saturdays are for errands and my son which only leaves me Sunday to shop. Unfortunately, most shops are religious based so they are closed on Sundays. This shop and it’s sister shop in North park are open on Sundays. I love finding items that show wear then, I do not have to pay $ 500 for an end table that has«faux«water rings on it. I just buy one with real water ring stains etc. and if, the damage is too bad then, I just sand it down and start over(I like the natural look any ways) The work I put into my finds are a labor of love and make those finds even more valuable to me.

I found a reasonably priced filing cabinet at this branch. The manager in charge allowed me to borrow a dolly to wheel my cabinet home which just made my life so convenient.

this is a new location that seems like its still getting its bearings. the windmill has great discounts on clothes but a lot of the smaller house items are low quality. however, it redeems itself in the electronics and furniture sections– lots of awesome and unique pieces. what i like most about this location is how hard the employees were working to get it in order. everyone was very helpful and inadvertently brightened my day. i think that once this store is established and organized, business will def pick up with the san diego community. the windmill thrift stores are 100% non-profit and donate all of their income to the north park senior community and single mothers with autistic children. hopefully san diegans will become bigger supporters of charity-driven businesses because this store has so much generosity and heart.

An undiscovered gem! Super nice staff and tons of bargains to be had. $ 10 for an 8 foot projector screen!
