I was I need of some new snow gear so I dropped in to check out the selection. The manager Brian K. was very informative and helpful. The rest of the staff were friendly and quick to ask if I needed help finding anything.

What a great shop! My boyfriend and his family are obsessed with Active, so when we came to town it was the first place he decided to visit. I was surprised, knowing the Active brand, that they carry all kinds of brands. He explained it to me in the way that it is a general skate shop that started making their own brand, and eventually that brand blew up huge, but the skate shop remained the same. There are two things that make this shop what it is: the staff and the price variance. There was a woman helping us this morning who was incredibly helpful in every step of shopping: getting fitting rooms started, coming to collect items to hold for us at the register that we planned on purchasing, grabbing different sizes, and having easy, friendly conversation throughout the way. Because of the amazing price variance, people on any budget could walk in here and pick up something they love.

I know nothing about skateboarding or the«skater» community. I came here with the family under my sons guidance to get my son a new skateboard. He had checked their website beforehand and knew exactly what he wanted and what they had. It’s a rather large store, much bigger than I expected(insert that’s what she said joke here) and they have much more than just skateboards including clothing and shoes, but we went straight to the back of the store to the skateboard section. We were assisted by the gentlemen working in that section right away and he was very helpful working with my son to get him the board parts he needed and making sure he got the right ones. He was very nice and easy to work with. He put the board together very quickly and showed my son how to do it as well. I checked in here on Unilocal and used the 10% off coupon. I have no idea about pricing for skateboards so I don’t know if the price I paid was good or not, seemed a bit expensive to me. My son really liked this place and we will probably be back if he needs anything else for his skateboard.

I really like this shop. Very neat and organized. The 2 for $ 30 Active t’s deal is ongoing. That was what I got when I was here. I was paying with a gift card and there was a problem with the system. The guy made an effort to make it go through. He entered in the card number or something. Glad it went through.

Good selection of clothes. Also, a really big sale selection for this store in particular, too, I must say.

My husband and I have purchased snowboarding gear and apparel from here. I wouldn’t say they have the best selection of snowboarding stuff, but they sell good brands like Burton. The staff are helpful and friendly. I come here if I can’t drive over to Sport Chalet or Dick’s.

I don’t know what all the huss and fuss is about? I always enjoy coming into this store! The staff is always helpful and friendly, never snobby or lazy. I too remember the original store back in the day, and I still see the original owners in San Dimas from time to time which is pretty cool. This is my go-to place for last minute holiday shopping too. Plenty of cool t-shirts and accessories to chose from.

i told my emo kid that he better get really good at skating so he can start competing and win some money for his mom. is that selfish of me? *shrug* well they have cool skater gear here. emo kid got his first«real» board here. i guess by «real» it means it has to cost $ 150… it better last him a while. i have yet to find sturdy skating shoes that my emo kid will not tear up. i was eyeing a pair of leather vans for $ 125 tho… i’ll have to contemplate on that. not too much selection for women or children. christmas sales are the best. right now they’re offering early bird specials of additional 20% off if you shop from 8 am to 2 pm. plus all sweaters and jackets are 40% off! too bad i couldn’t find a cool jacket for myself…

Active is my one stop shop for all skate goods back when I was skating. Over the years though active have focused more on designer brands which I’m not mad at them for but they could emphasize more on the skateboard aspect. This particular store consists of competent sales representatives for the most part but I have experienced one sales man that was too cool for school. Other than that, Active Ride Shop is a good shop for your skating essentials.

I’m really torn about Active. I remember when they used to be a surf shop back when I was in high school(12 years ago!). And, they used to sell Volcom back in the day too… I don’t know what happened but they stopped selling Volcom about 6 years ago… maybe? All in all, it’s still a good place to get a pair of skate shoes seeing as they have a wall ‘o shoes and a variety of skateboards(they have a good deal on their blanks). Even though there is no more Volcom here, they now do carry RVCA and Mada which is rad. I make it a point to check out Active anytime I’m back in Glendora visiting my folks.
