Want a very different atmosphere, years of history, and a GREAT meal? This place has that. Had the«Special» Sea bass with asparagus and cauliflower sauce. Owner/Chef knows what he is doing back there. You won’t be disappointed!!! I am not a calimari fan, but they without a doubt have my vote on that too.

My whole family are long-time devotees of Luca Bella and their delicious food. Their San Dimas location is no exception to their consistent high quality of ingredients and great service. Although we go there often for family brunches(their blueberry ricotta pancakes are a must), we recently hosted my engagement party at their Walker House location and were blown away! Natalie, their Catering and Events Manager, is a true pleasure to work with from start to finish. We had about 80 guests on a Saturday night for appetizers and drinks. We had our event in the back of the house and it was the perfect setting. Luca Bella provided all of the catering, tables, linens, and adorable string lights. I was able to bring in a DJ, paper lanterns, and assorted decorations. We chose five different appetizers(pulled pork sliders, bacon wrapped dates, crudités, crab cakes, and meatballs) which were passed around throughout the night. They also provided a full bar for our guests. Throughout the night I received compliments from my guests about the delicious food and the amazing service provided by each member of their staff. Their staff was so friendly and really helped make our evening extra special. The amazing service, phenomenal food, and unique historical setting made for a fantastic night. This place truly has it all and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great venue space with minimal hassle and maximum impact!

Food: 4.5÷5 stars Gourmet, dripping juicy, flavorful, burger. A sunny side up gooey egg was hidden inside to crown the glory. I came for the burger and was not disappointed. Atmosphere: 4.5÷5 stars It’s old and smell moldy old wood so off half a star. But if it’s historical, white linen, exclusive vibe that you want then look no further. Service: 5⁄5 stars My water glass was always full. Never had to ask. Server checked in a few times, hostess checked in a few times, chef checked in, and buss boy was constantly buzzing out of sight. I told the server that I was in a hurry and they gave me express service without making me feel rushed. Kudos. Expense: 4⁄5 stars $ 22 for burger but was worth it due to all other factors. Return: 4⁄5 stars Yes when I ant to splurge for a gourmet burger.

How often does one have dinner in a late 19th century home, not very often I expect. The house which was originally built as a hotel in 1893 is an experience in itself. The staff is very inviting including the chef Chris. As a dinner guest, one has the opportunity to it inside the house or out on the veranda. The food is amazingly good. I had the Parlour Burger and the Chicken Fetuccine. Both had an abundance of flavor and were very filling. After dinner, there are many historical photographs one could browse about on the walls. It feels like one is inside one of the Old School Scooby Doo Mansions. Creepy in a cool way. A must see in the City of San Dimas.

Very small, intimate spot. Went here for dinner after viewing an art show at the Walker Gallery. The food and service was excellent. Had the Crispy Risotto as an appetizer which was great but very filling. A little pricey, but the experience is worth it. Will definitely be back!

Just got married at this beautiful venue on Sunday June 5th. Everything was perfect. My husband said the staff could read his mind since they were on top of everything. Excellent service, our whole family was impressed. Can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary every year here. I believe there was the manager, Chris. Catering manager, Natalie, and server, Chris. they were all amazing. the bartender also made a delicious san dimas sunrise? for me.

I arrived at this restaurant on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 12:30 pm as it said on their website and on Unilocal that they were open until 2:30 pm for brunch. Pulling up to the front of the historic Walker House where the restaurant is located there was a sign clearly indicating that the restaurant was open. We parked and went up to the entrance and found the door was locked and all of the lights were out. There was absolutely no signage indicating that the restaurant was closed. There was actually a chalkboard style sign that indicated the hours of the restaurant and according to it, the restaurant should have been open. I drove thirty minutes for absolutely nothing. If they had decided to close for the holiday weekend then they should have indicated it on their website of a sign on the door. Instead all the signs indicated that they were open. A very poorly run business and I will not return.

Not sure what we were expecting but we totally enjoyed our dinner! It has a great«old» charm about it. You can actually have an ice conversation without loud music, or bad acoustics. Décor is a little old but that’s the«Walker Hpuse» experience. I would like to co e back for dinner and definitely would like to try their brunch on Sundays!

First time dining here. The ribeye was fantastic! So delicious. It was juicy with the perfect amount of marbling. We received GREAT service from Kayla. She recommend items from the menu including the ribeye and the torta de la nona. Both were great. The building is old school beautiful and historic. The building has old pictures throughout showing the San Dimas area back in the early 1900s. I recommend you give it a try.

We decided to give this restaurant a try because of the high rating. Well never trust voters, that’s why we have a knuckle head for a governor. Let’s start with the enbiance, the place is dark and sad and smells old, it seems like everyone is walking in slow motion. Service was courteous but slow. Now let go to the important part, THEFOOD, well I ordered the shrimp alfredo pasta, my wife ordered the special, sea bass over mached potatoes. My plate was a nice presentation but the rich fresh Italian food taste wasn’t there, it was oily heavy and lacking spices, out of a can, it gave me heartburn, my wife’s plate also looked good, the fish was generous, but again lacking flavor and spices, and dripping with oil. Will I go back, we’ll the place wasn’t cheap, but for half of what we paid, we could have gone to olive garden(another disgrace to Italian food), SOSORRY, NO.

I would never return to this place. Normally, I prefer to make several visits before writing a review, but the abysmal quality of the food combined with lackluster service and steep prices require that I make an exception to this rule. In its favor: they’ve preserved an old hotel in an area otherwise bereft of history. Kudos to them for maintaining a historic landmark. Why I won’t be returning? Bad food, high prices, poor service. Let me start with the worst: supposed«lump-meat crab cakes» at something like $ 14.00. One would expect the kitchen at least start with frozen(or, if available, fresh) crab meat, then add the various fillers and other components in the kitchen before sauteing or deep-frying them. The approach at Luca Bella was different: start with some frozen«crab» cake, which may or may not have included a gram or two of crab, and lots of mushy goo fillers, like wheat-paste, and some other seafood-like crab substitute. I don’t know for sure what was in it, but the smell, before the fork had reached my lips, was so fiercely foul(redolent of a fish store that hadn’t been cleaned in a while) that all I wanted was for the waiter to give me a clean plate and fork. That only took 20 minutes. Which leads to my second issue: inattentive service at a place with pretensions of luxury. It was hard to get the servers’ attention and hard for them to get our orders right(e.g. bringing a white when ordering a red wine). They were pleasant but largely absent. Finally the tab: about $ 50 a head for big-chain quality food. In sum: poor value.

Met a few friends for our Christmas lunch It was like eating at a funeral home. Sat in one of the private rooms. Barely any Christmas decorations. Dead looking place, no music, no ambiance. I ordered the short ribs, they were dry and tasted old. I returned it and ordered the chicken provencal. Not much better. The chicken tasted processed and was sliced. I was too embarrassed to return it again. It was a small portion for $ 16 I left there hungry and disappointed. At least the waitress and helper were nice. I will never go back.

I’m giving 5 stars for the service and 3 for the food. Honestly it was too pricey for mediocre breakfast. Our waiter Walter was amazing and he made the best bloody Mary’s. $ 14 for bottomless but when I ordered the 3 one I was charged extra. I guess I thought bottomless had a different meaning. We went for Sunday brunch and the breakfast was good but for the price I was expecting spectacular. The eggs Benedict was over cooked. My kids had the French toast but again nothing I couldn’t of made myself. I’m guessing the dinner will wow me when I try it. For now I’ll stick to the bloody Mary’s as long as Walter makes them. Thanks for the great service Walter!

Ate here two meals in a row: amazing romantic dinner with my husband(short ribs, heirloom tomato salad) and then brunch for six. They sat us at a large round table for ~9 in a private room on the southeast corner of The Walker House, bathed in sunlight at 10AM. The food was great, with classic eggs Benedict and crab Benedict being the favored dishes, and the atmosphere was amazing. This place is magical, and highly recommended for a Sunday brunch, dinner party or romantic date. Reservations not necessary but a good idea to ensure prime seating, especially for larger parties. Tip: for a date arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in the relaxing bar room, they have an amazing cocktail menu.

WoW! Great service, amazing wine selection from a variety of regions at affordable prices and food that was perfectly prepared. A beautiful Italian Brunello that matched perfectly with the BarQue pork belly for an appetizer and rib eye and lamb chops entrees that were the perfect temperature and excellently seasoned. The Lemon tort was a perfect ending with a delicious cup of coffee. If you have not tried the Luca Bella at the Walker House in San Dimas your are missing out on a gem.

Went to the Walker House with my wife for our anniversary. She chose the Short Ribs over Risotto. I ordered a couple things from the appetizer menu and a Shrimp Linguini dinner. The food here is top notch, serve superb and atmosphere is amazing. The Walker House has so much history and tradition stored that you feel it while walking around. The pricing is above average, but in my opinion, well worth it. We cannot wait to return!

Long time anticipation was well rewarded tonight. Historic newly remodeled setting. Great variety of California style cooking with generous portions. ake sure you Save some room for desert. Staff was amazing, on time and pleasant. Restaurant has a few private rooms for party of 4−8−20 or more. Their back yard is set up for larger out door events with plenty of free parking. Can’t wait for Sunday a brunch

Everything we ordered was perfect. Nothing was too salty or too greasy or too sweet. Just balanced and expertly seasoned. You can’t go wrong with the pork belly. It has a crunchy skin, and the meat is moist. For an appetizer, the portion was generous. I could only finish half of it. The short rib was divine. The chef did something to crisp up one side, but it is very moist and tender. It sits on top of some risotto that was fried with some cheese, I believe. The textural contrast was playful! I hope this restaurant stays for good. San Dimas needs you! You are a gem to our community!
