Absolutely the worst customer service ever by Paul, an older gentleman who almost left me in tears, mind you in front of 4 employees and a customer for returning vitamins i purchased an hour earlier from a different location. I was so surprised by him publicly shaming me for returning pills I had opened and tried. He said that it was shameful that I was returning pills after opening them. I returned one bottle because the gummy vitamins tasted horribly, and I return the other because I got a way better deal on GNC online. After I told him the reason for returning both bottles he really had a fit. I am mortified that this took place while 4 employees were uncomfortably watching. I assume Paul is a manager of some sort, as he was wearing a white dress shirt and tie. I will never return to this location, even though it’s the closest GNC to my house. Still in shock.

First of all, I have never written a review before in my life. I made a Unilocal account just for this incident. Had a very bad experience with a employee here. I have been going to this location for a while now, and not had many problems before. The team members like to recommend products and sometimes the things that are recommended sound appealing. I was recommended a different protein powder by an employee so I decided to try it. I had came in once, to EXCHANGE, not return, one of the powders I bought because when I opened it, the container was half empty and I felt that was a bit weird so I exchanged it for another flavor. Today, I came into the store to return the protein powders completely because I was having an issue with it. Every time I used this powder, if I did not wash my shaker cup right away mold would develop inside within about 40 minutes. I was not happy with this, so I decided to return the product and go back to the GNC protein powder. When I told this to Maryam, she got very uptight about the fact I wanted to return this product. She raises her voice at me while there are other customers in the store and starts saying things like «I am never returning an item for you again, you cannot do this. I am going to write your information down and make sure you cannot return items here again.» She is being very disrespectful to me and talking down to me in front of customers for about 10 minutes because I wanted to return the product and get a different one. I tell her that I am a customer and I should be able to return a product within the correct time limit if I am not satisfied with it. The container was barley used and I only had it for about 2 weeks. The company’s policy is that they will return any item within 30 days if you are not satisfied and I don’t see how what I did was wrong. This altercation has completely changed my mind and experience about this location. She was rude and did not show any customer services skills, and did not treat me with any respect.

Great location. Love the shopping mini mall/​plaza. Stop by when I need to ask questions or pick up a few items that I don’t order online. Staff is always knowledgeable.

I’ve been working out more, and find myself needing more vitamins and supplements. There is no better place than GNC. They have everything, and a very knowledge staff to explain it all to you. This location is ideally located near my other shopping and dinning needs, a perfect one stop shopping destination. Lake Balboa GNC keep up the great job

I have been at different GNC Stores from Pasadena to Panorama City. From the all the stores I’ve been this is the store that has employees with the most knowledge and best customer services available in town. Terence was very knowledgeable in products that only come from being in the industry for a long time (experience). If you go to this location, ask for Terence.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly! They did give me (what seemed to be) their honest opinion about products and they didnt say the most expensive product was the best.
Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I felt they tried to sell me more than I wanted, which is what is done is sales but I got a little annoyed about it. They DID NOT pressure me at all just kept showing me product and telling me this would be good for me and so on. Not a huge deal, but the deal breaker for the 5^th star lol

I went in uninformed and came out enlightened. That’s how you want to feel going into a place that sells product that goes into your body. It’s a good location that isn’t hard to get to, but other than that, it’s a legit place to shop.

I like this location because it’s sort of close to home and there is one guy that works there that is super helpful.
For the most part I never ever went to GNC stores because I had no reason to be in there. Since I’ve started running I needed to get something healthy to put in me after I would run so I thought what a better place then GNC to find something nutritious for post work out. So I went to this location and the guy working walked me through what was good, their deals they had going on and it was a no pressure gig. Now I’ve been in other times when my guy isn’t working and I feel like I’m at a car dealership trying to get swindled by a sales guy. This feeling I don’t like and when the guy isn’t there I usually just leave. Anyway, I found what I needed and I feel like it’s making a difference.

Are they nice? yes but they will lie through there teeth to sell you a product. Well not they but specifically the older gentlemen there. What ever product you mention he has taken and takes. Even if it will give him a heart attack he says he takes it. They try to sell you there bullshit GNC made products as well. Just dont fall for it because most of it is crap.

Empty whenever I go, friendly helpful staff.
