Foster’s Old Fashion Freeze

Hadn’t been to this place in about 8 years and I finally decide to stop by because I had been craving it; this was a Sunday. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The burger did not meet my expectations. It lacked flavor and was pretty generic; the fries, although good in texture, were unevenly seasoned. The reason I gave this place 4 stars was because I returned the very next day to try what they’re known for: ice cream. I ordered an Oreo Vanilla twister (Best decision ever!). The soft serve ice cream was full of flavor yet didn’t make me feel like I was going to get diabetes. The Oreos were perfectly blended in and I finished the large serving in under ten minutes. In conclusion, if you’re craving some good soft serve, come check this place out! I recommend you get any of their other dishes just so that you ease your curiosity but the ice cream will not disappoint.

charging 75 cents for a side of thousand island, wont be coming back again. its sad to see people employed with no common sense, just lost a customer over something that does not cost you a dime.

Love this place. Good food. Good workers. The sitting area needs some attention, but for you don’t mind sitting on benches, you’ll be fine. My fav is an old fashion with a Reece’s twister. This place cannot disappoint.

This place is good. A lot of people are complaining because something is not the way they like. They’re mad because they like the food and want to keep eating there. Like a child they want to throw a tantrum and throw it here on Unilocal.The only real complaint I have is that they serve Pepsi I used to come here way back when they served Coca Cola.
I always make jokes with my friends that this place has good flavor in their food because it comes from the dirty walls. As long as the kitchen is clean why do I care about the disgusting walls? I’m not eating off of them. If I didn’t like their food I would not go there just like the other idiots who complain. Go to a 5 star restaurant if you want cleanliness and flavorless food.
I do admit in the summer time those flies do get annoying but like I said the food is greater than me hating the flies. I’ve been to about four other fosters freezes and they are all garbage and they were all very clean and well kept. I’ll choose a place that cares about the food then how clean the walls are. The only fosters location I go to.
Just look at how stupid the reviewers are! They love the food but they gave it 1 start because they wanted to do a phone order! This is a burger joint! Go order a pizza. Reviews should be about the food not parking not their phone service. I wish there were a filter dumb reviewers option.

3 stars because I love their food it’s delicious but the place is extremely dirty and disgusting I order from the outside window so I don’t see the inside, nothing but kids work there never wear gloves always messing around they definitely need some type of training, this place is just extremely bad, I think they would make more business with a clean building and more cautious with the sanitary issues

I used to go to this place for their banana milkshake. As far as for their burgers and Fries goes, it lacks in flavor and preparation. Either it’s the cook or the ingredients, either way I’m not Liking it. The shakes and ice cream are what I recommend at this place, they are properly made frozen desserts

I love this place! It may not look glamorous on the outside but the food is what it the best. Is it legendary food? No. Is it good food? Definitely. The meat in their burgers is great and their seasoned fries are amazing. The only thing I have a problem is when you order, no matter how small your order is l, you have to wait quite a while, but if you just call their number and order it’s extremely easier to get your food, just order what you want, leave our home pick it up and done. Great food, good service, and great food. Definitely a spot worth checking out when in the area!

Worst place ever !!! I wish I could give no stars but it doesn’t let me. First off the only reason I’m coming is because I only have my debit right now or I would’ve gone to chili burgers or tommys.
This place, there phone isn’t working and they should have put that on their Unilocal page or something because I tried calling 15x to place my order and nothing. And I was 30 min away and I’m in a rush. Then I get here wanting to talk to the manager and he’s not even here. And they won’t take a message for me or give me his number. I’m sorry but that’s a bit rude. This is most likely my last time coming here. What really pissed me off is the manager not being here because it’s your business and you should be here taking care of it.

Although the food is good here, the few times I’ve ordered a meal and I love the twisters and ice cream at this location, this place is in major need of a remodel or an upgrade. I’ve been in the valley for about 20 years and it looks the same. I’m not sure about ownership or management at this place but the staff needs a big time course/​training in cross contamination.
The employees handle money, pens and paper then turn around and start handling food. It’s pretty gross, makes you wonder if they even wash their hands all day while on their shift.
I really hope they make some changes if not in a remodel, at least in how they handle kitchen duties or they will continue to lose more costumers.

I came here to order a burger and some ice cream, I completely changed my mind as soon as I seen how unsanitary this place is. The kids making the food didn’t have gloves on and the girls didn’t have hairnets or at least a hat! The girl making the food kept sticking her hands in the frozen fries and throwing them into the fryer! Then she would wipe her hands on the side of her jean shorts and never once did they wash their hands. The inside looks so dirty and old. I decided to order only ice cream from the outside window.
I gave them two starts cause I really do love the ice cream.
They really need to remodel this place and smack some gloves on these kids. I hope the health department doesn’t close this place down.

For those people who comment on all the negativity about us the workers, then I challenge you to try it out for yourself. Come and work here and you’ll see that we do what we do because it’s the fastest way to get your food to you. Yes we wash our hands very often, yet you all want fast service when it’s only 2,3, or four workers, we never have five workers because our boss can’t afford us. We make miserable 9 dollars and hour yet you want us to be like in-​n-​out. We don’t have breaks, we don’t have restroom breaks (only when we have free time) and we just work out butts off in the heat. Just put yourself in our position then I want to hear your real opinion! Some of us have two jobs so we’re tired, that’s why we can’t always be with a smile, tips always help! Thanks.

Soft serve ice cream is the BEST!

an iconic San Fernando burger joint, still going strong. Good food, reasonable prices. One of the very few places anymore that serves chocolate soft-​serve.
I have had to tend toward chicken these days rather than beef, but I find their grilled chicken sandwich more than adequate.
they lost a half a star with me for charging 50 cents for refills… REALLY??? I just spent nearly 10 bucks on your food, and you want to charge extra to refill a SODA?
the Asian owners do not understand English that well, so it was hard to even enter into a discussion with them about it.

Went there after Father’s Day dinner for some ice-​cream. The ice-​cream was very good and a good place to stop when you have a sweet tooth.
However, it could have been a little cleaner and staff a little more friendlier. I would also suggest maybe updating the décor with some type of theme.

Good food but what disgusted me was the fact that the workers did Not have any gloves or hair nets on. Ewwww…

Its 8:27pm on a Friday night. The chunky girl with the highlights in her hair is picking food and eating it while she is cooking. I seen her do it through the mirrrors. Not cool guys. I don’t know where her hands have been and she isn’t even wearing gloves. No one here is. No hair nets nothing… Someone management please have a talk with her. Not cool seeing an employee eating the customers food.

From first glance, it seems like a dank, hole in the wall; and don’t get me wrong… It is. HOWEVER, the food is great, the service is very friendly, and I love and prefer little mom-​n-​pop burger joints over faceless, fast food chains. I highly recommend the double decker. And a twister; good eats!

Updated from about six months ago.
Now run by young teens, extraordinarily slow service, as in forty minutes for an Old Fashioned Burger and fries, out of several food items on last visit.
Menu board is old (from the 70’s with the exception of prices), windows smudged, dirty, the whole place looks dingy.
With that kind of service we will never go back, over 35 years of service gone in under six months.
