Tender Grill Cafe

I came here because of the high Unilocal reviews. I like to bring my wife lunch at her job in Mission Hills so I looked for a new place close by. We shared the chicken kebab plate. The chicken was moist and tender and they packed it up separately for me so it would not touch the hummus and yogurt sauce (my wife doesnt like her food touching, LOL). There was a ton of rice too, so much that I have enough to make some stuffed peppers with the leftover rice. I do wish they offered a garden salad as a side choice because I like to wrap my chicken and salad in some pita.

This was the second time we ordered from here and the food didn’t disappoint. It all tasted great and fresh. I love the homemade hummus. I do wish that they had the traditional garlic spread but not a deal breaker. The food is authentic and they deliver too .
Just make sure you order an hour ahead and have patience

First time ordering food today here. Food was good, fast delivery they seem to make an effort to really show they care for the food they deliver unlike other restaurants they just put the food in the container that’s it. we got the combo number 1. Happy to have found a good Mediterranean place. Definitely recommend

Maybe I encountered the owner on a bad day?

I recommend this place!!! I found this place near my home and decided to try it. Custumer service is great very friendly folks, the food is amazing and the price is even better.

Boy oh boy. Less than 5 hours ago, I went on a great culinary journey. Pack lightly, grab my hand and let’s retrace my steps.
It all started with a visit to my parents. It was cold, rainy and I did not want to drive out to pick up food. I figured pizza would be my only option. I consulted with my food guide, Unilocal. He told me there was an oasis amidst the desert.
So shocked and confused at the fact that I could get something other than pizza delivered, I called this spot. I ordered the family combo #2. And I less than one hour, I was in heaven.
The beef skewers were cooked to perfection. So tender and delucious. Not only was it quality meat, but the medium well cook did it justice. The chicken skewers were amazing as well. Salad simple yet flavorful. Rice moist and complimented the meats well. Humus was simple and acted as am excellent palate cleanser between every flavorful bite.
I do not claim to be an expert of this cuisine, but this place has been my favorite so far.

In fact, have ordered multiple other times from here and the excellent quality is so consistent! Food is delicious and delivery is so punctual. Love it!

Terrible customer service. Placed an order on eat24 and delivery was free. Got a call an hour later from a guy saying he was on his way, but I needed to pay him $ 5 for delivery. I said no, I already tipped $ 6 and the website did not charge for delivery so he needed to take it up with the website, not me. The guy was rude and aggressive and when I (feeling pretty baffled) said «what the fuck?» he was angry that I cussed at him.
Would not recommend this place.

Quality & delicious food! My favorite is the Lule Kabob.

Instead of complaining about restrooms I will review this place on their food. Which was great. The chicken was perfectly seasoned rice nice and buttery how I like it and hummus was good as well. People that review bad because you had to go pee and they didn’t have a restroom are stupid.

I can’t even begin to tell you how tender and delicious their kabobs are. The steak kabobs are so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Oh, and this place delivers!!! Definitely ordering from them again. Sylmar/​San Fernando needed a place like this. I’m hooked. I took a star away only because they forgot my chicken shawarma side. But great experience over all. Delivery guy was nice, too. :)

I have eaten at other Mediterranean restaurants and this one by far earns my 4 ****‘s. The meat is tender, the hummus & cucumber yogurt was delicious. But their shirazi is so good I ate the whole order.

Absolutely love this place! It’s so difficult to find good Mediterranean food out here! We are fans of the number 2 family meal. The family that owns it are super sweet and their food is yummy! The wife is picky so these stars are not easy to come by! The eat in area is small and fast food style so we usually order our food and pick it up to eat at home.

Found this restaurant via a Unilocal local search. Since I’m a huge fan of Greek and Mediterranean food, I agreed to check it out.
The décor is basic and nothing special. The menu is laid out with pictures which helps. The restaurant has music playing which actually helps with the blah atmosphere.
They use the new trendy Tablet register which is kinda cool. In regards to the food, I ordered the $ 9.99 Chicken Kabob plate that includes Pita Bread and Rice. You can choose two sides at no charge. I chose Hummus and their Cucumber/​Tomato Salad (it’s official name I don’t recall). So the Hummus honestly has a very unique weird taste to it that I am not a fan of. The Cucumber Salad is pretty good and I enjoyed it. The rice isn’t bad either. The Pita Bread that is included is a very small portion and nothing special. The Chicken Kabob is well cooked and seasoned. However, the blocks of Chicken are pretty small.
The place is overall pretty clean looking. They do not have a restroom which I never understood how restaurants can get away with that.
The one thing I am disappointed about and will actually prevent me from coming back is regarding health. The nice lady running the register was also assisting the cook in prepping the orders, etc. I never saw her wash her hands after being in contact with cash and credit cards. Also, the cook was clearly sweating which is pretty gross… I know it’s hot but be presentable in front of your customers.
Anyway, overall the place is okay and worth trying but when a restaurant is empty at lunch hour it might make you wonder.

Decided to order the kabob family meal #2, delivery.
Chicken, beef, and lule kabobs were delicious/​juicy. A nice big plate of rice, salad, and hummus. No joke, food was great!
You are definitely getting what you pay for and a little extra.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered #4, the beef shish kabob with the yogurt drink and baklava. I have enough left over for two meals. The beef is very tender when cooked medium. Rice is perfect and so are my 2 sides of tabuii and hummus. Will come back when I’m in the valley.

I have been eating here for a quite some time and I found out that the owners have changed as of July 18^th 2015. So i tried my regular number 3 chicken plate with hummus and tabouleh and also some fries on the side. There is a new grandpa working there and a young lady, which by the way they have been absolutely friendly to me. The place was packed which wasn’t before the owners changed. I guessed that they were doing something right. I decided to write a before and after review so future Unilocalers like me depend on reviews know what’s up.
Before the owner change, the food was really not so good. I am talking about the hummus specially and the meat. The customer service was truly the worst and the waiting time was horrible.
The new owners looks like are family too and they speak Armenian and when customers are present they speak english so they don’t feel uncomfortable. The grandpa does the worlds best grilled chicken i have ever tried and i have been to places a lot. The lady is very very friendly and she asks twice for my order just to ensure she got everything i need. The young boys are helping out and running around and taking care of the customer needs in a very very very polite way. These new owners truly know how to run a business.
The hummus is the best one i have had in a while and everything is hand made. They took the time to introduce themselves to me and what they have changed. The fries i ordered was incredible and the tabouleh was crazy good.
If you guys are reading this please check it out because this place is the best.

The delivery was reasonably timed. This was my first time trying this place and I was skeptical about Mediterranean food in this part of town. I opted to go the safe route and order the combo plate thinking there had to be at least one thing I would like. The luleh was fantastic and not dry at all. The chicken was well seasoned the shish was amazing the rice was solid!!! I loved everything on my plate!!! Bbbuuutttttttt I asked for a shirazi salad and yogurt with cucumbers as my sides. I got tabouli instead. I HATE TABOULI. My friends also asked for different sides and also received tabouli… Maybe they were trying to get rid of it??? My one friend that likes tabouli ate all of our tabouli and said it was great! So minus one star for the bait and switch of sides!!!
