On the positive side, they work with really great craftspeople — the upholsterers and the people who built my bed and a bench were absolutely first rate. Their Rolodex in this regard is worth its weight in gold. Now for the reality. When the economy was in the toilet and I hired them to redo my living room and my bedroom, they were ready and willing to take on the job. For the price they charge($$$$), their design advice is exactly what you would expect from a high end design team. Now fast forward to the present economy. I’m now looking to redo my kitchen. After paying them to come to my home and take measurements and chat about ideas that my partner and I have for the space, they have now decided that this job is not lucrative enough for them, so they are leaving me high and dry with no recommendation for another designer nor a refund for what I already paid them. My advice: they have ability, but also have major attitude and ego. In my opinion, you can do so much better for you by finding someone else.
